Tokyo Station, THE Tokyo Station, is the station that's called Tokyo within Tokyo. There is only one station like that and everything goes through there from Shinkansen (very high speed bullet train) to Yamanote Line (the green line that goes through circular area of Tokyo), Chūō Line (the Center Line, that cuts through the entire Tokyo from west to east), and many metro lines.

The station is very near the enormous Imperial Palace of Japanese Emperor, the well-known shopping Area Ginza, salarymen's drinking haven Shimbashi, lots of museums, congress building etc.

They have the basement floors full of food courts and department stores. It's fun to walk around these extremely modern spaces to hunt for street food like ramen, tonkatsu, curry, udon, yakitori, western food, Chinese food, all these... Japanese always do well to have serious restaurants in the locations of convenience.
