He's back in our yard after a few days missing. We didn't even yell at him as he "pruned" our shrubs.
Despite the dog, we still have plenty of rabbits around our yard. This little guy (or gal?) was sitting outside my kitchen window, having breakfast the other morning.
Hiking trip I took over Rabbit Pass, near Wanaka on the South Island of New Zealand -March 2008. What a placePhotos used with permission from my kindly guide Whitney at www.wildwalks.co.nz
I have no idea how my dog knew there was a rabbit outside, but she went nuts trying to get through the door and go after this bunny! It was getting dark, so the lighting wasn't the best for the 150 camera. Took the shot through the storm door so its a bit fuzzy.
They hop, they swim, even underwater. One of them became infamous for threatening President Carter.
This one lives near the St. Johns County boat ramp.

Recently I've started playing around with an old point-and-shoot camera that I bought about 4 or years ago. It's not brilliant, but given the right conditions is certainly able to capture few decent 'snaps', as hopefully these shots demonstrate.
So, earlier this weekend my girlfriend and I took a wander around Hampstead Heath and Kenwood House. There we met this very accommodating rabbit, who seemed more than happy to be the star of an impromptu photography session.
When I was on Lunga in the group of islands known as the Treshnish Isles off the west coast of Mull a few weeks ago. I noticed some lovely pure black rabbits. These are apparently descendants of the original domestic rabbits kept on the island by he residents for food many years ago. Now feral these feed on the grasses and wild flowers and are quite at ease with the visitors to Lunga providing they don’t get to close.
I spent a few minutes getting some images of these beautiful animals.
These three are of the same rabbit, one I've seen around a number of times. He's less easily spooked, perhaps out of being a wise old rabbit. Sadly, he has some ailment that prevents him from opening his eyes very far, but he's as active as any of the others around. On this occasion, he was eating and relaxing right by the fence, maybe just eight feet from me; I was quiet, and he let me stay.
