Greg the cloned rabbit who lives on our street (along with about a thousand others). He's very used to me being around, taking pictures of him, and is the only rabbit (still a baby) that lets me get close. I can now comfortably get within about 5 feet, whereas all the other clones take off at about 20 ft. -- I took this shot just after getting out of the car, when buying my Nikon 18-200 VR lens. It was a welcome sight to see Greg there waiting for me to try out my lens. (and yes, this was actually low-light, so I had to really utilize the Vibration Reduction in the lens)

These Ravens were on the South Cliffs eating a dead Rabbit. They flew off a short way but quickly returned to their meal as I passed by.
Changing strategy when threatened can expose you to greater danger.
When threatened, cottontail rabbits freeze. This makes best use their natural camouflage to hide them from predators. They won’t run until they are absolutely sure they are being stalked by a predator. Arzino Ranch, Alviso, CA

While birding the Harlingen Arroyo Colorado World Birding site, I came across several cottontail rabbits. This is one seems to be a young one based on its size. It was frozen waiting for me to pass.
Mientras que observaba aves en el parque Arroyo Colorado de Harlingen, me econtré con varios conejos. Este parece ser un jóven basado en su tamaño. Se congeló esperando a que pasara yo.
