When I passed this fence, the song "Road to nowhere" by the Talking Heads, came immediately in my head ;-))
Happy Fence Friday everyone ;-))
The Ingraham Trail, leading 70 KM outside of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories Canada. During the summer months the road comes to a dead end at 70 kms, but during the winter months it attaches to an ice road the extends into the heart of the NWT, leading to remote diamond mines.

A road to nowhere, a car full of my people, fav lyrics on my lips, some food in packets, camera, guitar, few drinks and a few days getting lost, just give me that ...
-Mayukh Ray
“Only within the moment of time represented by the present century has one species -- man -- acquired significant power to alter the nature of the world. The road we have long been traveling is deceptively easy, a smooth superhighway on which we progress with great speed, but at its end lies disaster. The other fork of the road — the one less traveled by — offers our last, our only chance to reach a destination that assures the preservation of the earth.”
― Rachel Carson, Silent Spring

"We're on a road to nowhere
Come on inside
Takin' that ride to nowhere
We'll take that ride
I'm feelin' okay this mornin'
And you know
We're on a road to paradise
Here we go, here we go..."

Going through the archive. Took this photo a year ago but never thought much of it. Have you ever gone back and found photos that mean more to you now than they did then?

this scene reminds me a bit of the video to Talking Head's 'Road to nowhere' (at about 0:36) - yes, I am a kid of the 80s ;))
"Well, we know where we're goin'
But we don't know where we've been
And we know what we're knowin'
But we can't say what we've seen
And we're not little children
And we know what we want
And the future is certain
Give us time to work it out
We're on a road to nowhere (...) "

I love snow - even when it's only a few centimeters like here.
There was lovely warm sunlight peaking through the thick clouds for about 15 minutes before it went 'grey in grey' again - with freezing cold wind ... we were almost alone out there on our stroll on Sunday afternoon ...
I hope you all had a peaceful Christmas time !

From Bryson City, follow Everett Street/Fontana Road north out of town, and stay on Fontana Road until you come to the entrance to Great Smokey Mountains National Park. Once in the park, the road becomes Lakeview Drive East. Follow the winding road for about 6 miles until you cross a bridge over Nolands Creek, and there is a parking area next to a barricade. From there it’s a short walk to the tunnel, which is about a quarter-mile long—longer than it looks from the outside. It's dark in there, so bring a flashlight. “Nowhere” is on the other side, along with some beautiful trails and views.

Taken from a moving bus through the front window, somewhere in the windswept Argentinean Pampa, on the road to reach Lago Argentino. It was the same impression for hours ....... only th clouds changing.
I was listening to some Talking Heads whilst editing this one from the archives, seems to be a fitting title...
Thanks for viewing, take care and stay safe...😊👍
Another night of stormy clouds and sunsets. Wish I had all day to find a great location. Still, happy with this shot in the middle of nowhere.
