Lily loves to run and jump. I've posted other shots of her jumping into water. One of these days I'd like to capture her chasing chipmunks. Her first 'move' is a huge leap; that would be fun to get.

Like many people, I find gardening is a pleasant and relaxing pastime.
I "rescued" two struggling African violet plants from throw-out shelf in the Big W plant nursery some time ago. It was very satisfying to see them recover when given a little TLC and even better to see them come into flower yesterday.

The pride of lions at Yorkshire Wildlife Park were rehomed from Oradea Zoo in Romania where due to lack of funds and expertise they were kept in very poor conditions. (All six, I believe, but one gray girl isn't easily seen.)
Out of the litter of six, there were two smaller than the rest: Cindy Lou and Thing Two. Cindy Lou continues to be a petite girl, but Thing Two? Not so much. The foster family worked so hard to keep Thing Two well-fed that she actually has passed her brother (Thing One) in weight. A peek under the tail is the most reliable way to tell Thing One and Thing Two apart for now, but their faces do differ slightly.

This is Eggy, an 11 month old hedgehog who we rescued as a baby. She's out for a rare daytime visit because I was cleaning out her box and I took the opportunity for a weigh-in.

Rescue me
Oh take me in your arms
Rescue me
I want your tender charms
'Coz I'm lonely and I'm blue
I need you and your love too
Come on and rescue me
Come on baby, take me baby, hold me baby, love me baby
Can't you see that I need you baby
Can't you see that I'm lonely
Rescue me

Out of this rescue family, I must say that the momma is my favorite. What a sweetheart she is. So gentle, so loving.
