In a press release from Hazzard Range County Sheriff Troy Forbes ,he is informing the community of the Sheriff's office as seen uptick stolen vehicles out of the neighboring city of Apache and dumped in the southern section of the county . He noted that few arrests have been made ,and noted that the Sheriff's office is working together with four law enforcement agencies in Apache county and the State Police . Sheriff’s Forbes lastly noted that anyone with info contact the Sheriff’s Admin office or Dispatch .

East Sparta is just east of downtown Sparta, the county seat, across the Rio Grande. Sparta sits on the western bank of the river, and the east bank is called East Sparta, Little South, The bottoms, or Old town by locals, and was the site of Sparta till 1912, after a flood /fire forced it to be relocated to the west side of the river.
