Designed by Ryan Nagode, and Scott Krugger, the fourth-generation Dodge Ram was introduced at the 2008 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, going on sale in Autumn 2008 for the 2009 model year. The 2500 and 3500 pickups were added for 2010, and the 3500, 4500, and 5500 chassis cabs were added for 2011. In 2010, the Ram Trucks brand was separated from Dodge starting with the 2011 model year. This was supposedly done so Dodge could focus more on passenger and performance cars, though it continued to be marketed as a Dodge until 2013.

The Ram was available with three bed lengths (5.5', 6.3', and 8') and four cab styles, 2 door regular, 4 door extended, 4 door crew cab and 4-door extended crew cab (2500/3500).

The 1500 received a minor restyling in 2013 new front fascia, optional projector-beam halogen headlamps with LED turn signals/parking lamps, wheels, and interior, were the DODGE badge was removed.

Don't let that tow hook fool you, this el cheapo diecast is definitely a copy of the original Matchbox 2015 Ram 1500 and is typical of the stuff made by Xiruilu.

They are a Chinese toy company with quite a large arsenal of HW and MBX copies and unusually they are more than happy to not only put their brand name on the packaging but also on the baseplates too!
