On this Sunday May 12th ,2024 ( Mother’s day ) Morning we see Hazzard Range County sheriff’s office Lieutenant Dolly King talking with Bill Cabot looking up with pride at the banner he put up on Blue's cafe ( co own by his with Jan )
Dolly asks Bill if he put up Banner like he has for so many years ,that half those years ending up in blowing away , he replies’ “ nope this year I got professional help “
After urging of his wife Jan and their insurance agent. He hired Wild Heart Construction Jason Heart to put it up and taking it down . Avoiding disasters his banners have caused before and saving countless rolls of Duct Tape
Bill and Jan have own cafe 20 years now He retired from being county fire Admin in 2016
Dolly, a Hazzard Range county native was hired by HRCSO back in 2001 and was promoted to Sergeant in 2008 then to Sergeant / investigator in 2014 . In July 2016 she was promoted to Lieutenant . She is Married to husband Joe King Jr, a New Mexico State Park Ranger and was the sheriff's office himself for 12 years from April 2006 to June 2018 . They have an adult son who is attending Culinary school .
Her Father in-law Joe King Sr who will be turning 100 this Sept. Is a WW2 veteran ,but only saw the last weeks of the war . He had a full law enforcement career with the Sheriff's office along with the State police and was County sheriff from 1970-1982 .
In the winter of 1971 Joe was patrolling out by the county airport when he crashed during a blizzard . He was lucky that the local rancher and his daughter were headed back to town and spotted him . The daughter in a few years would become Joe's wife . Joe's only son Joe Jr was born in 1982 ,the same year Joe lost reelection. Today Joe and his wife Sally lives in Eagle lake
Scene takes place in Sparta, the county seat .

Project 365 Day 34: I stumbled upon this Dodge Ram Rumble Bee in a parking lot today. This truck was only made in 2004 and 2005 - although not without controversy. 5.7L Hemi v. 6.1L Hemi was one (some would've waited had they known the engine would change) and the number of vehicles was another. They said 3700 to promote it in 2004, yet the numbers go higher. This left a lot of people feeling they paid too much for a non limited, limited edition.

Clay County Sheriff's Office Sergeant Jerry Osbon assisted Deputy Fred Cortez with a Report locating drug paraphernalia outside of a local business in the 500 block of Butte St. in Basin City. The deputies investigated the drug paraphernalia and reported that the items were collected for disposal. A report was generated.

Zack's Convenience Store is located in the 500 block of Butte St in Basin City, a census-designated place in Clay County, located in the Terreno Llano Seco basin ( TLS basin ), which means dry flat land in Spanish. The TLC basin is about 90 miles long and about 20 miles wide in western Apache and Clay counties, NM.
As sunsets on this chilly Sunday, Jan 12th,2025, we see Sweetwater County Sheriff's Office Deputy Cindy Bosaca slowing for some deer near the old Cat Eyes railroad depot on Cat Eyes Rd.
The scene takes place about 20 miles southwest of Oasis Springs the county seat. Cat Eyes is a census-designated place and the community was a mining town, formed in 1879 following the discovery of gold and Sliver in the nearby Pion Pie Mountains it did not take off till the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railway spur line that was built in the 1890s. Livestock, sheep wool, timber, and ore kept spur running til the 1970s when the line was abandoned, While tracks are still intact the line has not seen a train in 50 + years.
Cat Eyes is now mostly made of vacation cabins with a location only a few miles from the northern section of the Hazzard Range National Forest
Pickups are big business representing high returns and stakes for the auto brands that build them. They are also a daily necessity for both consumer and commercial usage. This week Automotive Rhythms spent more time behind the wheel of a 2022 Wind Chill Pearl Toyota Tundra Hybrid Capstone CrewMax, which felt more luxurious than industrial. I didn’t want to accomplish my typical yard tasks and Home Depot runs with this particular truck, especially with its lovely black and cream two-toned interior, jeweled chromed exterior trim, and 22" dark chrome alloy rims. However, we did go mountain biking together. For rough riders, you might want to go with the Tundra TRD Pro, which easily handles all terrains on and off-road. The MSRP for the Tundra Hybrid Capstone CrewMax is $73,530, but my test model was a bit more due to the $1,045 AVS+ Load-Leveling Rear Air Suspension, $425 Wind Chill Pearl (white) paint selection, and the $579 non-skid spray-on bed liner.

Community Health Center Deputy Luke Bella was notified of a car parked in the Ambulance parking area only. As Deputy Bella approached the vehicle it felt nearly striking Bella. Who took purist, after two laps around the Community Health Center, the Dodge Challenger turned east on NM 308 /Old Mexico Ave with other deputies joining the chase that was called off and on through the limits of Sparta. Ending at 400 Industry Rd ( Hazzard Range recycling)
Two people were arrested and drug paraphernalia was also found

Sheriff’s office, Lieutenant Bubba Sanchez told the Bulletin that 2 people, along with a dog, were rescued from an SUV. Water /Wastewater Division Director Sandy Gelner told the Bulletin that water will be restored around 1 AM but noted Silver will be closed between 6th and 7th till at least late Monday afternoon.
She also noted that with the amount of water leaks and an ongoing extreme drought, more sinkholes are likely
Road and Street Division Supervisor Joe Franco would also like to remind residents not to park or pile debris in the flood channel, as flood waters from rain storms or waterline breaks have to have a place to go, and flooding of Cliff Ave could been prevented if the channel were not blocked by car and other debires

On Wednesday June 5th ,2024 Hazzard Range County sheriff’s office Immediate Response Team (IRT) executed a warrant on a home on Dixie Ave in East Sparta . In a press release from the Sheriff’s office spokesperson /Administrative Secretary Shelby Burk that IRT team executed a warrant at home and after a short standoff and foot chase the 25 year old woman was taken into custody at the county detention center.

East Sparta just east of downtown Sparta The county seat ,across the Rio Grande .Sparta sits on western bank of river and on east bank is called East Sparta ,Little south ,The bottoms or Old town by locals and was town of Sparta site till 1912 after a flood /fire forced it to be relocated to west side of river .

On Thursday, July 10th,2025, at 7:45 PM, Hazzard Range County Sheriff’s Office, Eagle Lake State Park Law Enforcement Rangers, and County EMS were dispatched to Eagle Island Road near Old Man Cove Road to report a human remains found and a medical emergency
County Sheriff Troy Forbes told the Bulletin that a couple walking their dog along the current shore came across the remains 63-year-old male, who started to experience chest pains. Eagle Lake State Park Law Enforcement Rangers, County volunteer Fire Station 7, EMS, and extrication ( Eagle Lake ), along with County EMS, were first on the scene. The Male was transported to the County Community Health Center and is recovering
The human remains remain under investigation by the Sheriff’s office investigators and have been sent to the Office of the Medical Investigator (OMI). New Mexico State Police are also assisting in the investigation.
