Where a Jeep cherokee was found wrecked .HRCSO Lieutenant Sanchez told the Herald that jeep was abandoned and now a investigation is underway .

Hazzard Range county sheriff's office Sergeant Jerry Sparks advised he was out on Motorist Assist along NM state Rd 323 just southwest of Cow Bone canyon bridge .
On this Thursday August 6th ,2020 Morning we see a line of boaters waiting to enter Eagle lake state park that for time being is only open on Thursday through Sunday 6 am to 6 pm because of COVID-19 restrictions of NM governor Health order .
We also see Eagle Lake State Park Ranger Nathen Baca passing by the line on NM 168 he headed north to another part of the lake ,
Stellantis Group has announced a recall 212,373 pickup trucks due to a defective side curtain airbag inflator motor.
On this Sunny Monday Feb 1st 2021 ,we see Hazzard Range County Sheriff’s office Lieutenant Ron Bayerd headed out of the Fort Hazzard substation to his unit . Fort Hazzard is in the southern part of the county and about 30 miles from the county seat of Sparta .

East Sparta sits on eastern bank of the Rio Grande river and is called besides East Sparta ,,Little south ,The bottoms or Old town by locals on western bank just east Downtown Sparta the county seat and East Sparta was the town of Sparta site till 1912

On this Cold ( 24 °F) earlier Tuesday Nov 13th ,2018 morning. We see G.D Oil & Petroleum CO, Delivery driver Greg Mae walking back to his truck after fulling up Inter county Railway ( ICR ) Locomotive number 311 a EMD GP50 . Inside the ICR's shop is Engine 6752 and 8098 both EMD SD 40-2 after getting some maintenance done . The man walking to the building is Engineer/conductor Alan Montoya who getting Conductor Phil Martinez for they can start their day with some switching at the High desert Plastic then afternoon Apache -Sparta turn . They hope by then 6752 or 8098 will be done .

Hazzard Range County Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant Jeff Bartly took a report of suspicious activity near Gray Dog campground along NM 323. Scene investigated and cleared, no issues found ..

Gray Dog Campground is one few along NM 308 that crosses the White Mt Range located in the southern part the county and is part of Hazzard Range National Forest and with it be Easter Weekend some locals like Aaron Pansfe trying to check on his Cattle he useing binoculars to try it for he don’t have deal with campers .but to no luck and with uptick of visitors Lieutenant Bartly is out this part of the county trying to catch some offroads locals in near by census designated area of Fort Hazzard area along with the far-flung ranchs and subdivisions have been complaining about or this call would been hours away.
On this Tuesday Jan 7th,2020 .We see Hazzard Range County Sheriff’s office Investigator Matt White and Sergeant /investigator Junior Hays about to get in Hay’s unit for trip west to Clay County .As they have testify in hearing from Aug 2017 murder case . That just went to trial this week after years of delays and Change of venue resulted in case be heard finally this week .
After 2 weeks of trial ,the suspect in case Zachary Vinnds was found guilty of the murder of local Ranch hand Greg Simjg on Aug 11th,2017 in the southern part of the county .

As another dry storm system for the southern part of this state moves through., on this Windy Tuesday, February 11th, 2025 late afternoon we see UPS and USPS busy at work, as Hazzard Range County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Joey Vela. A 7-year member of the Sheriff’s office, but 19 years before that working for the US Border Patrol and the Department of the Army Civilian Police. He walks back to his unit parked along Dallas Ave in Sparta the County seat, after testifying in a court trial at New Mexico 14th District Court around the corner in the County Government Center here in Sparta the county seat
As some rain and a strong wind blows from a passing storm system on this Wednesday Jan 10th ,2018 morning. We see Hazzard Range county sheriff 's office Deputy Scott Doald is headed into the office ,that located on 1st of floor of the county goverment center in the county seat of Sparta . Inside the office County sheriff Troy Forbes and His Undersheriff Bradley Gore is working on restructuring of the sheriff's office . With Sheriff's Lieutenant Alex Hart a 25 year veteran of force ,only week left before He retires . Troy and Bradley are looking in redoing the the command structure. They have till next week ,that is when Bradley presents it to the county commission for approval. Troy would ,but has meeting at the same time with Sweetwater county ( county to the north ) Sheriff .
As Sunrises on this damp Christmas 2019 moring ,we see Sweetwater County sheriff's office Deputy Carrie Hall ,helping a man with eight reindeer with directions out of Oasis Springs the county seat .At a gas station in Oasis Springs. After giving him directions and questions his about his ride . She went to pay for her unit’s gas and buy some coffee. As she exits the gas Station ,Deputy Hall notices the man ,reindeer and sleigh are gone ,but note on her windshield saying “ Thanks for the help and have a Merry Christmas and a happy and safe new year also always remember the real reason for the season. Sincerely S.C. “

Eagle Lake State Park Ranger James McCode took a report of drug paraphernalia found at a restroom at
Tiger Beach on Diamond Cove Road.
On this Windy Monday Jan 21,2019 afternoon .We see Hazzard Range county sheriff's office Deputy Dale Alak headed back to his unit after getting copy of security cam footage from some bad vandalism to one of Inter county railway's ( ICR ) locomotives. We also see Hazzard Range sand and gravel co-owner Russell Hays head to ICR's office to sign some paper work for another 4 year contract for ICR service to their gravel pits .
ICR office is in the old county freight depot ,that the company been leasing for about 5 years now since their old office burnt down . Later this week County commission in their monthly meeting are voting to renew ICR's lease for another 4 years or not . General Manager Pauline Bailey well be going in front of the commission ,but if it goes anything like it is few years ago it will be a flight .
Today that many across the US have been waiting for has finally arrived ,Tuesday Nov 6th ,2018 or this year election day . Pictured in Front of Hazzard Range center Government center in the county seat of Sparta .We see Lindsay Rocky owner of Dicey's Salvage talking with Undersheriff Bradley Gore before she heads into the building and up to the second floor to vote .The commission chambers is just one of many of voting centers in the county to vote or over last few many took advantage of early voting at the county clerks office .
Two seats on the county commission are up for election. District 4 and current Commission Chair George Dallas " G.D " who yet again is unopposed in Primary and general election . Same for District 3 Vice chair Commissioner Fred Taller ,Judge Henry Sims and county assessor Holly Clark.
Only county races contested was County Sheriff . Current sheriff Troy Forbes had Alan Cay running against him in the Republican primary . Sheriff Forbes won . County Magistrate Judge Sally Harts a Democrat is also contested ,by current County Municipal Judge Chris Lock a Independent .
For Clay county
For county judges and county assessor are unopposed . For Clay County Commissioner district 1 Current commissioner Dorothy York is not seeking reelection . Only two candidates filed for that seat are Democrat Sam Alden and Republican Dean Miller . Commissioner district 3 Democrat Gordon Bins is running unopposed in the general election .
For Sheriff though current incumbent Republican Shawn Gray is unopposed in the June primary ,but now faces Democrat current Philipsburg Police Dept Captain Donald Akain
For Apache County
For county commission has 3 sets up and only one is contested .For the county sheriff . Apache county sheriff Paul Laca who is a independent will face Retired Forks police Chief Hank Padilla a Democrat and Republican Tom Young. County Magistrate judge and Assessor are not contested
For Sweetwater county
County Sheriff Republican TJ Gonzales is unopposed in the primary and general in fall . Only race that is contested is for county commission seat 1 .Longtime county commissioner Dick little has been beat out by Carlos Dale . He will take on Glenn Baca in the fall. The other is County Magistrate Judge ,Jill Murphy a Republican and Steven Wbot a Democrat .
Also is local races is NM 14th District Court Judge Donald Francisco who is running to keep his seat after being appointed in 2017 ,His opponent is Crystal Delane

Forks Police Department Captain Sean Bowwers assisted officer Luke Coal with domestic disturbance on Bow Lane in Middle Fork . Crystal Sullivan was arrested and transported to the county dentition center.

Crystal lives in Hazzard Range county ,the county to north of here and works at Milk bowl diner and travel center . She was down here visiting her brother when after having to much beers ,She starting fighting then went from verbal to fists .So Forks PD was called .
Forks is made up of three ( Fork , Middle Fork and Top Fork ) little cluster of homes and business that form Forks In 1987 they consolidated to Form Forks with a total population of about 499 on the banks of Forks creek .Most part of the canyon they set in is home to small farms and with ranches in the surrounding desert .All three Villages set in Forks Creeks Canyon along the Forks Creek in Apache County NM , just over the County Line from Hazzard Range County. Also all three are served by joint Village Commission ,that has three Commissioners Forks Police Department ( FPD) has 5 officers including the Chief
The city of Truth or Consequences ( T or C ) Code Compliance Ram 1500 .This was a T or C PD unit ,till this this year ( 2018 ) when it was reassign . T or C is the county seat of Sierra County NM .

On this Tuesday August 20th,2019 .We see Hazzard Range County Sheriff Troy Forbes and Ridge Sign service owner Alan Ridge looking at the new sign over the Employee Entrance Only to the county Sheriff’s office that is located in the county government center in the County seat of Sparta . We also see Sheriff’s office Sergeant Parker Walles walking pass them as he heads back out on patrol .
Also inside is Deputy Clint Dallas has just gone done his court security duties and headed home . Next week he assisting at County’s first High school football game of the season in the last 16 years or so .Events at schools has seen at least two deputies or more .

As the Winds rips from yet another storm not really hitting southern NM ,on this 49°F Monday February 18th,2019 early afternoon .We see Hazzard Range county Emergency Services Administrator Davis Hokrer telling Sheriff's office Lieutenant Bubba Sanchez that it cold wind ,but not as cold years he spent in Fairbanks Alaska or up in northern Wisconsin . Bubba just agrees and heads across the street to the county government center where the Sheriff's office is located .
Inside at her desk Sergeant Cathy Trejo tells Head Administrative Secretary Shelby Burk that days like this makes her miss Miami Fl ,but not Cheyenne Wyoming both places she has lived before .

A Ram 1500 assigned to Sergeant Jerry Sparks unit as Animal control Deputy Dorthy Vries walks into the substation to pick up a dog that was found in the area to transport to shelter .

A warrant service was conducted by Hazzard Range County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Shawn Ridge and Deputy Nick Sandi on Vista Al Lago Drive in Eagle Lake.
On this Friday July 5th ,2019 mind morning .We see Clay County Sheriff's office Undersheriff Neal Red talking with EMT Sarah Matta as Creekdale fire chief David Gard showing them his dog (Stone ) new trick . Stone over last year has came the Creekdale ( County volunteer fire Station 8 ) fire dept mascot
The Fire station is part of Clay County sheriff’s office Substation .Three EMTs are based at the Creekdale station that serve most of the eastern part of the county . The program that started in 2013 and fully funded in 2015 Has the EMTS based here so can arrive quicker not having to travel from a hospital in Philipsburg 45 miles west or Sparta 45 miles east . Since 2015 the county program has expanded to based EMTs at County volunteer fire Station 7 (Range ) and County volunteer fire Station 3 ( State line ) . Neighboring counties are looking at similar programs
Creekdale is a census designated area in eastern part of the county It sits on the banks of Swift Creek in Cuchillo Asesino canyon that is in the Agudo mts ,what is in Eastern part of Hazzard Range national Forest.
