These were soooo much easier than the water droplets and personally I think they turned out better! They are certainly more dramatic. Same setup as The droplets that can be found here and here. It was very easy to hit the laser beam with this (relative to a drop of water) huge hour glass. this is one of those coulda shoulda woulda shots. i wish i got the light a little better framed, but i like the idea of how it came out. le sigh.
first question: do you shoot in raw or jpeg? i currently shoot in jpeg and want to know what you think are advantages of shooting in raw, if you do so. i've heard countless times that it's better, but never why.
also, if you've been to NYC before, what are your must-see/must-do's? I haven't been but will be visiting with my best friend in early August. we need some help choosing activities!

Tina started asking questions about her new camera today (a D40), which led to a discussion on how to achieve a certain style of photo (subject in focus, background not). We shot a few samples (f/3.8, 5.6, 8, 16 and 22) to make the concept come alive vs. simply being academic.
