Voir, entendre, sentir, gouter, toucher.

Cormorant.

Is it illegal? Literally a loaded question. Did I break any laws in taking this image? I have driven by the spot many times and often pondered this question. So, ever ready with my camera, as I took one last glance around me I very quickly snapped off the shot as I was driving. Technically it sucks. Over grown weeds, blur, bad light, point and shoot camera, yesh! It is the answer to my question that was my aim.

I did a quick search to find my answer on the web to no avail. All I could come up with is personal conjecture with thoughts about terrorism, over zealous cops, press experiences, some say it is illegal some say it isn't, some say to challenge authority others say it's best not to push the point. Where is the skinny on this subject? I am a law abiding citizen and non-confrontational. So where can I point and shoot without worry?

Bridges fascinate me. Their span, architecture, and history thrill me. This bridge the Blanchette Bridge spanning the Missouri River between St Louis and St. Charles County. They are of a cantilevered through truss bridge design. The west bound built in 1958 as part of President Eisenhower's plan to have a interstate highway system. The east bound bridge built in 1978. It has a daily average use of 70,000 vehicles. During the height of the devastating Great Flood of 1993 this was one of the few remaining routes and bridges still clear in and out of St. Louis. Once, I had to stop on the west bound bridge to allow former President Bush to pass on the east bound bridge. I thought that this would be the perfect time for a terrorist attack. The President on one bridge and me stuck on the other bridge. Gees, what a thought.

Anyway, I would like nothing better than to take several images of the bridge in different light, with a tripod and angle without worry of being approached. I'm not whining. I realize law enforcement personnel are doing their jobs. Thankfully so. If approached I would smile, show ID, thank them and move along. I would suggest the same to you. Imagine explaining "what your in for" to your jail buddies.

What are your thoughts on this subject?

When questioned by Senator Cantwell, Exxon Mobil Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Rex Tillerson (not pictured) said that oil should cost between $60 and $70 per barrel, if the price of oil were based on supply and demand fundamentals. Oil was trading at $98 per barrel on Thursday morning, after plunging 5.5 percent yesterday.

After an evening on smart recycling of urine and another on public urination, the speakers of this third Pis' Talk focused on the materialism of the golden fluid: they have highlighted how pee as a material can be used to shape leather, carry out scientific research, create dreamlike audio-visual landscapes and nourish plants.

Night itself is a long and entertaining round of questions, answers and sticking it to the idiots in the crowd who ask and subsequently answer their own questions.

In the end, it was the State Theatre calling it a night, kicking out the some thousand in attendance into the streets. Midnight that is.

There are some days I really question my sanity. This was one of them. I have never seen a Royal Brunei 787 up close. I've seen them at very long distances at Frankfurt and London but they were way to far away to photograph. To make matters worse they arrive at Heathrow very early in the morning, way before sunrise, and depart very late at night. However, on this day, I lucked out - sort of. The flight was delayed and running over two hours late and was estimated to arrive shortly after sunrise. I bundled up and went to the Myrtle Avenue field to wait. What a god awful morning. Very cold, biting wind, and then the rain started. Coffee didn't help it all. Since this was in December, sunrise wasn't until 7:45 am or so. I decided to play around with my camera and was shooting planes landing in almost complete darkness. I lucked out the photos turned out even though the images are not tack sharp. Finally, the sky started to lighting, the Royal Brunei 787 came in. I left happy. I went back to my hotel room to warm up, with my wife shaking her head at the things I do.

In an aside, late that evening I happened to peek out of the hotel window just in time to see the 787 taxiing by the room. Life is good!

I took these photos in December 2018 at Myrtle Avenue field near Heathrow Airport.

Okay if I was to start a bntm would you audition ? . I did one but I didn't get many entries an I was embarrassed so I deleted the photo and never started . I think it's going to be fun but its okay if you don't want to enter ill just wait another time because I have so many bntm themes so consider it and yeah .... Bye !

I just saw this set of random questions on Nubi’s page. When my OCD latches onto a meme, i can't let go, so i decided to post my own answers here. Haven't done a self portrait in a while, so i uploaded without one...

1. Were you named after anyone?

Yes: El Hajj Malik El-Shabazz (a.k.a. Malcolm Little, a.k.a. Detroit Red, a.k.a. Malcolm X). Other than that, my middle name is the same as my father's.

2. When was the last time you cried?

Last week, a little boy disappeared in a grocery store around the corner from my house, right in the same aisle where his grandfather was shopping. Hours later, the police realized there were pictures on surveillance cameras of a woman walking out with the boy. The next day, he turned up at a stranger's house where the woman had appeared with him in tow.

I cried when i heard he was okay.

3. Do You Like Your Handwriting?

Yup. Used to hate it, then i deliberately practiced writing a different way. It ain't neat, but it's mine.

4. What’s your favorite lunch meat?

Anything that doesn't actually have meat in it.

5. Do you have kids?

Nope.

6. If you were another person, would you be friends with you?

LOL! If i was another person, i'd never be able to get in touch with me.

7. Do you use sarcasm a lot?

See above.

8. Do you still have your tonsils?

Yes.

9. Would you bungee jump?

The thought terrifies me. Naturally, i'd do it.

10. What’s your favorite cereal?

Smart Start

11. Do you untie your shoes when you take them off?

Usually not. Of course, most of my shoes don't have laces.

12. Do you think you are strong?

No more or less than any other human. But i think humans are strong.

13. What is your favorite ice cream?

Ben and Jerry's Cherry Garcia Frozen Yogurt. Dammit, now i want to go get some.

14. What is the first thing you notice about people?

The way they move. It's a defensive adaptation.

15. Red or pink?

Can't really see either one too well. I'm color blind.

16. What is the least favorite thing about yourself?

I get both obsessed and distracted with equal ease and frequency. It causes me to make my own life more difficult than it needs to be.

17. Who do you miss the most?

No one. Is that sad?

18. What color shoes are you wearing?

Aside from the very strange fact that i'm wearing shoes at all, and the almost equally odd fact that i'm wearing shoes with laces, they're either gray or green; i'm not sure.

19. What was the last thing you ate?

A [fake] chicken and aloo curry dish Troy made. Yummy!

20. What are you listening to right now?

The rather boring Crusoe playing on TiVo in the background. I don't think even the absolutely delicious Tongai Arnold Chirisa can save it.

21. If you were a crayon, what color would you be?

Mocha.

Hard to say. Was Paris, France farther than St. Vincent & The Grenadines? Are we talking physical distance, or something else? And, most importantly, where is home?

I have many...

41. Where were you born?

Detroit, Michigan, USA

Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission (JMEC) Chairman, H.E. Festus Mogae, outlined the three defining questions that face South Sudan – Peace, Relief and Inclusivity

At the opening of JMEC’s plenary meeting on 15th March 17 in Juba, the Chairman said, “Whether by design or default, a war is being waged around this country and the security and humanitarian situation continues to deteriorate.”

“How do we stop the fighting? How do we stop innocent people dying of starvation? And how do we ensure that the interests and concerns of all South Sudanese communities are fully represented and considered?

Regarding the new reports of and intense fighting between the government forces and the SPLA in Opposition in Fangak and the Equatoria, with worst incidents reported in and around Kajo-keji, the chairperson of the JMEC, Festus Mogae, said there must be “accountability for these violations.”

“It is not acceptable and I strongly condemn the violence, the killings, the human rights abuses and the destruction of homes by all armed groups across this country,” lamented Festus Mogae

“Those responsible must be held accountable,” he stressed.

Farsley appeal to the umpire for a leg before decision during the early stages of a JCT600 Bradford League Division One relegation battle at East Bierley. This plea fell on deaf ears and the visitors, who opted to field at South View Road after winning the toss, went on to lose by 37 runs. The outcome virtually assures East Bierley of avoiding the drop but, with just three games of the season left, Farsley remain in the dreaded bottom two.

Match statistics: East Bierley 274-5 off 50 overs (Mark Gill 111no, Gavin Hamilton 42, Daniel Shuffe 31no, James Wainman 2-38, Mark Harrison 2-65) 20pts beat Farsley 237 off 49.5 overs (Gregory Pickles 81, James Wainman 59, Mark Harrison 27, Awais Ejaz 5-29, Haziq Tareen 2-21, Neil Gill 2-60) 7pts by 37 runs. Farsley won the toss and elected to field. Admission: £3 (including eight-page programme). Attendance: 73. Cricket tea: £4.95 (cheese salad with bread & butter, strawberry pavlova, mug of tea).

East Bierley Cricket Club were formed in 1865, which makes 2015 their 150th anniversary year. Initially, they played at The Shay, behind the New Inn, but soon moved to the present South View Road site. The ground was rented from Saville Estates then purchased in 1932. After winning the Bradford District League in 1895, 1898 and 1899, East Bierley joined the Bradford League in 1912. After finishing bottom of a 20-strong league in 1924, they took a three-year sabbatical. Since returning, the club have been continual members. Seven re-election applications were made during the 1940s. Success arrived from the Eighties. East Bierley secured the Division One championship and Priestley Cup double in 1981. Since then, they have won the top-flight title four times and lifted the Priestley Cup on seven further occasions. In 1979, East Bierley won the National Village Cup Final at Lord's.

"Animality: Can Humans Think Like Animals?" Display, Q&A

What happens when a chimp takes hold of temporality? This question drives the performance art work Santino’s Gift. The project began with Santino the chimpanzee who likes to throw rocks at visitors to the Furuvik Zoo in Sweden. What is strikingly uncommon about Santino is his forethought in collecting the rocks before visitors arrive. The preeminent philosopher Martin Heidegger uses forethought as the scaffolding for explaining human uniqueness in his work Being and Time. Visualizing a future allows humans to plan and build, to make objects function as equipment toward future ends, and to fashion technology.

In response to the chimp’s rupturing human preeminence, scientists studied and reported on the his ability while the zoo keepers castrated Santino as a mode of control over his behavior and future plans. Santino’s Gift is an art project designed to give Santino a present which he can make use of while in confinement and down on his luck. In Santino’s Gift Assistant Professor of English Ron Broglio spent part of an afternoon wrapping a copy of Being and Time and fitting it into a hand-crafted wooden box. The present along with an accompanying letter have been mailed to Santino care of the Furuvik Zoo. Broglio is awaiting a response and hopes Santino likes the work. vimeo.com/18804341
