Cedar Falls has got to be my favorite place to visit in the Hocking Hills region. Today I'm heading back down there with my 8x10" Tachihara field camera and some Ilford Delta 100 B&W film. Last week we tested it in my developer of choice, Pyrocat HD and found a working ISO of 125. With those results we're putting it through its paces in gorgeous Southern Ohio.
Follow along the hike and watch the photographs made here:

I was loaned an AGFA SILETTE LK 35mm camera with 45mm 2.8 'Apotar' lens only a three element and was AMAZED at the resolution on outdated AGFA APX 100 processed in my home-made PYROCAT HD Formula. Here is a test at about 35 feet and f8 and 1/250th the fastest shutter speed . I did a VIDEO all about the Camera and Lens which you can see HERE : www.youtube.com/watch?v=ExfdsjmGSms

Took another early morning trip, this time to Blackhand Gorge in Licking County, Ohio. Normally I would visit here for the gorge overlook, cool rock faces, and flowing water. When I arrived, the fog was calling my name!

It was on one of those schooner cruises that just by luck was also very foggy and chilly, but perfect for photography. the schooner was gaff-rigged, which i am told, is very kool. well it was a great day, even for snapshots with an M6 and expired film (1998 AgfapanAPX100; pyrocat-hd)
I recently acquired a Turner-Reich Gundlack 12" convertible lens in a Betax shutter, which in fact, I bought mainly for the shutter, so I could mount my other 12" Gundlach lens to make it more usable. The lens that came with the shutter is quite damaged: a wide margin of balsam separation round the edges of BOTH front and rear groups, and one of the center adhesive layers in the front group is a network of separation squiggles and lines. You'd look at this lens and think 'Poor thing, you aren't much use anymore, are you?!"
Well, I decided to mount in in the Betax shutter and see just how compromised it is. This photograph is the result. Yes, the negative has suffered some loss of contrast (light dispersion) and maybe softened a bit, but it was a perfectly usable negative!
Click to zoom way in and see the details.
I used a medium yellow filter, so adjusted to give an extra 2 stops: 1/2 second became 4 seconds (reciprocity) exposure at f11.5, using 8x10 inch Ilford HP5+. Negative developed in Pyrocat HD, 10 minutes standard dilution.

I needed to exercise my Minolta Autocord (one of the BEST TLR's you can buy!) yesterday and loaded it with an expired roll of Tri-X, and processed it in Pyrocat HD.
On some frames you can see mottling in areas of textureless grey, which indicates contamination from the backing paper (a common issue with ALL manufacturers in recent years), but in this image its not apparent.
