No, it's not the 4th Tower of Inverness :).
It's been quite a while since there were holiday pictures in this household. As the Christmas Eve snow started to blanket the ground, I rounded up Lauren and the dogs for a quick studio portrait session. You can check out the behind the scenes here:

I was walking around my neighbourhood one day, when the banality of this urban landscape struck me as interesting.
Three weeks in a row of heading out the the field and I couldn't be happier! Today's field trip was down to Ash Cave in the Hocking Hills. An easygoing hike with some killer sights, it was hard choosing a few a of my favorite pictures made that morning.
There's also a video detailing the trip you can watch here:

Photographed on Ilford Delta 100, @ 50 ASA, processed in Pyrocat HD, to compare with FX-37. This image got a bit more than twice the exposure as the FX-37 negative, and yet both have ended up in approximately the same density range. But this negative has a bit more available shadow information.
Camera used: The Intrepid 8x10 with the front half of a Darlot Petzval lens, no shutter (cap off, cap on, count to 2 seconds), wide open.
It's been too long since I've had the chance to get out and play with some of my old, expired Ekfe IR film. Loaded up a few sheets and headed out to the older West end of Columbus Ohio to the Franklinton Cemetery. One of the oldest sites in Columbus with some of the gravestones dating to the late 1700's and early 1800's.
I love how IR film is already a slow process, but take that and add an extra two stops to push through the film's base fog, and you've got some marathon exposures!

While Milton is a large and ever growing community, our roots as a agricultural centre is not that far away from the sprawl. This historic farm on Bell School Line just above the town on the Niagara Escarpment. We might have plenty of new businesses and industry, our rural roots still show in our summer Farmer's Market that occupies the downtown.
