An Icelandic artist from Húsafell has carved faces on a number of stones in this ravine, above the farm where he lives. It is intriguing to "find" them when you are hiking there.

I did two sheets of HP5+ as well, and the Fomapan sheet is sharper, but the HP5+ has more gradual shadow drop-off. Both look great, both are incredibly similar, which surprised me.

5x7 contact palladium print onto Arches Platine paper, from an in-camera negative developed in pyrocat-hd. With pyro, I've been able to make both silver and palladium prints from the same negative. The warmth comes from heating the developer. This was in potassium oxalate at 100F.

If this is the first time you're seeing this area of Ohio in the winter, stop what you're doing and plan a trip to Hocking Hills. Seriously, just go do it. The trails are amazing, there's almost no weather situation that makes the experience any less magical, and even if you aren't a photographer, there's something there for you. Unless, of course, you're a fan of cell phone signals; this is the place where those go to die, and it's just you and mother nature.
Today's scene is yet another from Cedar Falls trail when snow has dusted the ground, and the late afternoon sun is shining through the flurries in an amazing display.

Cemeteries and infrared photography go together almost as well as peanut butter and jelly. You've got regularly static subject matter, an open grounds to look for light, and few folks (living) to get in the picture. Seriously though, in years of playing with infrared film, cemeteries have always been consistently great places too shoot.
Today's photo comes from the Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati, OH. It dates a little over 150 years old, and it shows. Spring Grove sits along the industrial outskirts of Cincinnati, and seems un-phased by the economic ups and downs of the region. This is a place worth visiting and revisiting!
