First of all, Thank you for the invite for my image.
I made this image using the Walker-Titan 4x10 pinhole camera, HP5+ film using an orange filter. Then I developed the one sheet for 14mins in Pyrocat-HD 1:1:100 in a tray. It was just about to rain as I was thinking about making a 2nd negative, so I decided to head for shelter instead. Unfortunately our water supply didn't do the film any good, and left tiny debris on the film after washing it. Since then, I bought a filter for my sink, and won't need to wait for the whole-house filter to be changed based on my needs. I will also look into an alternative to Photoflo. I use R.O. water not distilled. It seems clean enough.
Long story - short, I had to take the negative into Photoshop to eliminate all the dust marks, and will need to make a larger scan , fix the dust etc, so I can make a digital negative. But for now, this is what I've done with it. Hope you like it...

I'm always considering alternatives to the "brand name" films I use, now that things have gotten SO expensive. Ilford's FP4+ 8x10 in 25 sheet boxes is now over $200, and though I am grateful to have cached a few boxes before it reached the $200 point, I need to consider what I can afford in the years to come.
With that in mind, I pulled out a package of Arista Ortho Litho film I had in the darkroom and made a test: I gave it a second of white light exposure (under the enlarger) and then exposed the film rating it at 3ASA to make this image. The film was developed (by inspection) in Pyrocat HD for four minutes, and this was the result. It wasn't too difficult to get "continuous tone" from this ridiculously cheap film, with a little extra effort. Who knows - it might be able to coax it into making a decent negative suitable for salt printing.

Since 2019, FPP has been releasing a series of B&W Monster films. To date they have: Dracula (64 ISO), Wolfman (100 ISO), Frankenstein (200 ISO), and TODAY they're adding one more. Introducing the Mummy, a 400 ISO B&W panchromatic film.
To make this announcement even more exciting, FPP is offering this film in: 8mm, 16mm (double perf), 35mm, 120, 620, 4x5", AND 8x10" sizes. As an 8x10 shooter, I'm incredibly excited to be a part of this launch and share with you some of my initial test results.

Very much happier with this version than the Velvia 50, which should have been a 3- or 4-second exposure not 2 seconds.

If I had to pick a region of Ohio for making pictures, it would be Southern OH! It's home to dozens of private and public nature preserves, one of my favorites is Lake Katharine in Jackson County. With nearly 10 miles of trails winding through the Eastern Hemlock forest, visitors are also treated to a lovely view of the park's namesake, Lake Katharine.
Come along with me as I take the 8x10 kit into the woods in search of some interesting light:

One of my favorite places in all of the South to go visit is Savannah, GA. With each trip, I find myself concentrating more and more on the presence of those gorgeous live oaks so carefully preserved throughout it's downtown area.
One afternoon while Lauren was paying a visit to the Blick Art Materials, I took the 8x10 for an exploratory visit downtown. Every few blocks, there's a new square with it's own personality and stunning live oaks. During this long exposure, there were a number of Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD) students taken by the big camera. One young lady was curious enough to ask what it looked like. Once this exposure was done, I gave her a peak under the dark cloth.
