Wickedcool old BMW reflected in a puddle (not mine, I'm a bicycle-lover :)...I've posted a similar shot 1 1/2 years ago and it became my most 'Interesting' picture according to Flickrs calculations :)
I wanted to see if I can recreate this effect by posting a shot (taken on the same day) that is just slightly different...and I also wanted to make you aware that I've entered the 'METRO Global Photo Challenge: Urban Jungle' with 5 of my wicked reflection shots, go and vote for me, or something ;-))
Here is the shot from last year!
A church and a biker in a foreign country, reflected in a puddle...
Me& a couple of million of Dutch people went to a foreign, neighboring country with a slightly different approach towards Christmas last weekend and it was very nice, lots of food that you can't buy in the Netherlands and tons of new smells, sights&sounds (well, the sounds not so much, Dutch was spoken almost anywhere in the streets, it almost felt like being at home far away from the best city in the world) :))
Have a very merry Christmas and a happy, healthy 2009!
had time to stop briefly right outside of our subdivision to capture this on my to work for a quick surgical case on a Sunday....was glad i brought along my trusty Sony Cybershot P&S to shoot this beautiful sunrise....it's not the best exposure but you can see how beautiful the light and the colors were this morning and really wanted to share it with you....enjoy your Sunday Flickr Friends!!!!

At the harbour in Oban. One of the Caladonian MacBrayne (www.calmac.co.uk) ferries in the background.
Reflections on a puddle
One must have a reason for reflection
an eye to admire variations.
And only so many days can fulfill a day
in which one can be
close to that April sky
with sight of it beneath.
This requires an understanding
a reason without, an inward nature,
a spontaneous glance.

Immerhin hatte ich 2 Stunden regenfreie Zeit. Beim nächsten Mal wird's bestimmt besser...

just another puddle reflection shot captured at the Crown Fountains in Millenium Park in Chicago...i was actually on my way over to the Bean for the lights show last February and decided to stop by the fountains for some twilight shots...i really like shooting long exposure images at very odd angles as this usually gives the viewer a unique and different look at something that people see and walk by everyday...hope you all have a great night...pls. The 'Mozes en Aäronkerk' Church at the Waterlooplein in Amsterdam, reflected in a puddle.
Shot with a SonyEricsson S700i mobile phone cam. No editing (I might have added some contrast&saturation, but I don't remember), no Photoshop, no tricks :)
This photo made it to the Flickr 'Explore' page, yay!
Today I decided to take my 'real' cam for a spin in the mean streets of the best city in the world, knowing that there are puddles and sunshine outside, and this was the first puddle I stopped at, drooling from the idea of finally getting some hi-res quality reflection shots...but when I turned on the cam it said 'Internal memory full'....stoopid me, I forgot the memory card at home, inside my PC :D
Since I've been planning on buying a new SDHC card anyway, I figured I'll just take this opportunity to go and get one, but then it turned out I was way too lazy to go to the shop and come back, so I whipped out Mobie and shot this wicked reflection old school style, and as you can see, Mobie still rules :))
Have a nice, sunny weekend!
P.s. As you might have noticed, lately I'm just repeating myself, taking the same pics I took one year ago around this time, I hope that doesn't bother you too much, hehe ;-P
Here's the twin shot from last year!

Wholesales parking lot, busy at night, deserted by day.
Not only fresh fruit, but also nice puddles and architecture.
Europe, Portugal, Lisboa, Chado, Elevador de Santa Justa, Convento do Carmo (uncut)
Shot at the top deck of the Elevador de Santa Justa looking towards the Comvento do Carmo - a rainy but lovely March afternoon in Lisbon.
The 'Santa Justa' lift was inaugurated on the 10th July 1902 and it is the only vertical lift in Lisbon for public service. It was built by the architect Raoul Mesnier du Ponsard and has a cast iron structure, enriched with filigree details. In 2002 it was classified as a National Monument. From: www.carris.pt.

This is the Amstel Hotel, one of the finest Hotels in Europe, Mick Jagger and Brad Pitt have stayed there (not together though, haha)!
"Blowhard hut was originally built for tourism, by the Victorian Tourist Board. As time went by, skiing became a greater passion and it was converted for this use.
Today, the hut is locked." " Built with corrugated iron walls and roof. The roof has a high gable and an unusually large skillion. Extended in the 1980s."

Puddle reflection in Gastown.
Harbour Centre is a notable skyscraper in the central business district of Downtown Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The "Lookout" tower atop the office building makes it one of the tallest structures in Vancouver and a prominent landmark on the city's skyline. With its 360-degree viewing deck, it also serves as a tourist attraction, offering a physically unobstructed view of the city.

Enjour your evening and thanks for visiting.
Puddle reflection of a car swooshing by while I was trying to do the wicked reflection thing with some buildings :)
Trees and a biker biking into the sunset, reflected in a puddle, of course in the best city in the world :)
Colors and saturation are a bit edited but otherwise it's a natural shot!
The beginning of the Haarlemmerstraat, reflected in a puddle...I was doing my wicked thing this morning, making the best use of the puddles from last nights rain, and todays sunrise, happily reflecting away when the Police came...!!!! and asked me what I was doing!!!
After my initial horror, shock&awe, I managed to blurt out 'I'm taking photos'...the older cop said 'Uh-huh, taking photos...in a puddle?!' so I walked over to show the MoFo that I was REALLY kneeling in front of a puddle because I'm shooting reflections...
He liked the shots and let me go without arresting me for not having my bike-lamps on (Ok, it was broad day light, but such details usually don't stop our fine force from ticketing you anyway, this weekend a guy got a 75 euro fine for falling asleep on a park bench...and he was a respectable, yet sleepy citizen, not a bum!)...
The copper told me he thought I was scooping up&drinking water from the puddle (with my freakin' mobile phone?!) and I asked him 'What IF I'd been drinking from the puddle? I don't think that's illegal!'...he just mumbled something to himself, speeding off in his car to get donuts, ehm, sorry, to serve&protect this city from scum like myself...and he was in such a hurry to get away that he didn't even see the bum sleeping in a door-way right next to his car ;-P
So, how was your monday?! :-))
P.s. This wicked Reflection is dedicated to Marta :))
P.p.s. Twin shot, one year later :))
just playing around with some curbside puddle reflections along Solidarity Drive showing the Adler Planetarium in the South Loop Neighborhood...pls. View On Black
It's been rather wet in London today. Constant thunderstorms and heavy rain. Typical August weather really!
Project 365 - 225/365
Unedited mobile phone cam shot. I might have added some contrast, but I don't remember :)
Yes, I really like that building, and it looks even mightier in a puddle :)
Same puddle, one year later!
