Look what came yesterday! I ordered two Blurb books: one with all my pictures from my first 365 project (finally) and one with the pictures I took last year. I had been working on them for ages, not quite wanting to commit to publishing them, but there was a discount for Mother's Day that I couldn't refuse: 20% off when you order 2 books. These books have quite a few pages, so they're not cheap. Luckily, I had both of them waiting in the wings, begging to be finished and published.
This book arrived in the post today, featuring one of my photographs of the tiled floor at Byland Abbey in Yorkshire. Thank you Diane, it is much appreciated!
Found in an old family bible are a couple of pages from the John Lewis Childs Company's Fall Catalog of 1900. J. L. Childs founded the first mail order seed business in the United States.
The business he started boomed in Floral Park, NY until, in 1921, Childs died at the age of 65. His widow sold the business in the mid-1920s. During the Great Depression she sold off his large real estate holdings.
Just got my copy of issue 13 of the print edition of JPG magazine, and it's got my article about the plastic fantastic Canon 50mm lens in it. Three of my photos accompany the article, and I'm well chuffed to be featured in a national mag like this.

Per the 1927 "Back to Wagga" Souvenir, published by the "Back to Wagga Week" Committee:
"Dixieland" - A Beautiful Pleasure Resort.
One of the most popular pleasure resorts in Wagga, on hot nights, is the dancing floor situated on the banks of the Murrumbidgee, at the end of Little Gurwood Street, popularly known as "Dixieland." The floor has been erected under the willows and presents a particularly pretty picture, which has been greatly admired by all visitors to Wagga. The floor was laid down in 1923 and in 1925 it was found necessary to enlarge the floor and effect many other improvements, including adequate seating accommodation. "Dixieland" is controlled by the Wagga Brass Band, the work all being conducted by voluntary labor and the proceeds are devoted to the upkeep of the band. A special programme has been arranged for "Back to Wagga Week," and the Committee are arranging the the production of a special souvenir programme for the week.
