My contributors copy of the 9th edition of Photography arrived this morning. The new edition has been extended to cover new digital techniques, including HDR.

Published in 1974 and well used by me and others. The Beatles wrote very catchy songs. This tricked budding guitar players, like me (!), into believing that they were easy to play. This book showed the reality!!
As I said before, I’ve been playing around with a new lens. Getting really close to the animals in the zoo is a snap now. Trying to catch them on photo is a whole lot more complicated though. This little fellow for instance, together with a couple of others in its cage, hardly sat still for even the slightest moment. It took me a few tries to catch it. The wait was worth it, I think

TREEHUGGER
A snowscape, or snow-escape? You decide.
This photograph was published in the Illustrated Chronicle on the 8th November 1916
During the Great War the Illustrated Chronicle published photographs of soldiers and sailors from Newcastle and the North East of England, which had been in the news. The photographs were sent in by relatives and give us a glimpse into the past.
The physical collection held by Newcastle Libraries comprises bound volumes of the newspaper from 1910 to 1925. We are keen to find out more about the people in the photographs. If you recognise anyone in the images and have any stories and information to add please comment below.
Very surprised to find my photos all over the official Crowded House website this morning!

Il 5 volte vincitore di Grammy Award ha lanciato il suo tour negli Usa nel settembre 2013. Da allora ha suonato in 70 show tra stadi, arene e festival.
Parlando del suo tour in Europa Lionel dice: "Non vedo l'ora di tornare in Italia. Il pubblico è fantastico e sto sempre benissimo quando sono in Italia. Lo spettacolo è fatto per cantare insieme quindi non vedo l'ora di cantare insieme al pubblico italiano di nuovo!"
Lo show di Lionel comprende le canzoni di uno dei repertori più amati nella musica internazionale, spaziando per la sua intera carriera dai Commodores a oggi. Il tour ha suscitato incredibili reazioni in tutto il mondo. Le performance di Lionel sono riconosciute per essere molto più che un concerto, i critici di tutto il mondo hanno sottolineato l'atmosfera di festa che riesce a creare riunendo gli spettatori con canzoni come “Dancing On The Ceiling”, “Say You, Say Me”, “Hello”, “Three Times A Lady”, “Easy” and “All Night Long”. Il tour celebra l'incredibile carriera di Lionel. Ha venduto piu di 100 milioni di dischi in tutto il mondo ricevendo premi come Grammy, American Music Award, Golden Globe e anche un Oscar.
