Almost 90 displaced people, mostly women and children, left a United Nations protection site in the capital Juba at the weekend to return to their homes in Yuai.
UNMISS worked together with UNHCR to support the voluntary return by flying the families and their belongings back to their villages in the Jonglei region of South Sudan.
On their arrival, there were joyful reunions with family members, many of whom they had not seen for years after being forced apart by conflict.
UNMISS representative Kevin Mutua Mutune said the return home meant the families were free to reclaim their homes, cultivate crops, farm, fish and the children would be able to go back to school.
“We are helping families move on with their lives,” he said.

Yes it's those angel wings again. This time Georgi suggested we use them for a studio photoshoot. This is my favourite from the entire session and possibly one of my favourite shots so far this year.
And it's funny how one of my favourite images has got some of the least number of comments!

On location with another security company (ATX Protection/security- the grey car) in Austin,TX.
Sadly, they went out of business July 1st, 2010 according to a statement left on their website at the time. Picture was taken months prior to them closing their doors. Prior to ATX Protection, they were S.I. Group security a few years ago, and we wish them good luck and Gods Speed on their next venture.
2 other black cars belong to SRS security and are still apart of our fleet to this day. www.texasofficer.com
Spittle:
# This is the best and most fascinating part of the Spittle Bug. The spittle that the bug creates has several jobs. The first being that of protection from predators. It hides inside the mass of spittle and can't be seen.
# The second job is thermal control. The bubbles insulate it from heat and cold.
# The last job is that of protection from moisture loss. Without the mass of spittle surrounding it, these insects will quickly dry out and die.
# The spittle bubbles are produced when the bug moves it s body up and down in a billow like motion.
# As it is doing this motion, its body secretes a goo and air out of its anus.
# The bubbles are formed the spittle bug uses its hind legs to manipulate the bubble around its body, thus creating its home and protection.
