We had our first snow yesterday. It's 21 degrees out today, so I decided to do this from my window. The birdhouse was a gift from my cousin for our 30th anniversary. I needed to work quickly as the sun is setting at 3 this afternoon.

This started out as a dryad for #inktober2016 (today's prompt: "tree") but turned darker in tone when I started drawing, not sure why. Anyway, I did have fun messing about with my new Derwent water-soluble pencils and then added an ink outline with my Pentel Pocket Brush. I love doing this stream-of-consciousness doodling, when the drawing sort of takes over and I lose track of time. Anyway, I'm grateful to #inktober for motivating me to doodle more this month!
