Macro shot of my dedicated near IR canon powershot a630. with the 720 nm pass filter. Interesting note the filter adapter for this camera came bent slightly out of round to to repair the filter threads I forced a UV filter onto the slightly bent tube to give me good threads for the expensive IR pass filters. and to protect the threads on the new UV filter since it is now removable I added a captive lenscap to the camera ( it is sitting on the cap )
What prompted the IR conversion was that the flash worked intermittently, and as I just purchased a T3i DSLR I had no use for a point and shoot anymore. upon dis-assembly I removed the IR cut filter and found the short in the flash so I repaired the flash and tested it out using a piece of exposed film for an IR pass filter. with the results confirming the functionality I then ordered a A640/a630 filter adapter tube, since the 630 has a bayonet mount for accessories.
I also have a 900nm ir pass filter but have not had much of a chance to use this set up yet due to the changing seasons and a lack of greens to set the white balance to.
Spotted this beauty on my morning walk today - will have to go back later with my real camera and tripod!

This weeks prompt is 'Vintage'. My mom left me some amazing vintage bling. The moonstone necklace is my absolute favorite. I even wear it occasionally. But the box in which I keep all the glitter holds much more beautiful things I love.

DALL-E 2024 prompt:
The scene is set in a 16:9 widescreen format, within an atelier in an old, worn-down building. A white robot painter is in the center of the room, actively painting one of the younger models on a canvas. The models are standing along the right wall, both with long, messy black hair and worn clothes. This widescreen image captures both the models in the background and the white robot painter in the foreground, emphasizing the contrast between the rustic human element and the sleek mechanical nature of the robot. Atmospheric lighting highlights the textures of the old building and the subjects.

Well today's prompt was path. Since yesterday I ended up photographing a path while I stretched the interpretation for "On the Right Track" I decided to flip flop and do a more literal shot of yesterday's prompt. I had no idea where I was going with this... just went down to the train station before work and took some random photos. I had a great shot lined up for a train that came as soon as I got there... but oops my camera wasn't on! I am afraid I am turning into more of a "Photoshop Artist" than a photographer cuz of the heavy processing I do... but I guess that's just my style? I like things to look unreal... anyone can take a photo, but I like putting a new spin on things and really creating art.
If you are looking for a daily photo challenge group, check out the Daily Photo Prompt Group! Not as many people as I thought are doing it and it would be fun to see other people's interpretations! You can find the prompts on the website they created, Twitter, or even get them sent directly to your phone! I anxiously await my Daily Prompt text message every night!
outdoor rock fireplace -- top one is using line work to define texture and shapes; bottom is less line work and uses color to inform textures. Even though i think the top one looks more defined and crisp, I enjoy the feeling of looseness and implying the textures more than trying to really be specific about them. Im learning who I am as an artist :-)
