I never felt like I did prompt 2 properly, so I revisted it. First I wrote on the page with gold marker, which was later covered with paint, collage, and the writing in black.

Prompt #1: What Holds You Back?
- I copied the original technique of the host by first making a list of all the things that hold me back from doing the things I want to do. Then I added adhesive letters to spell the word WHAT.
- I used a masking technique and painted over the page, including the word WHAT. Once the page dried, I peeled the letters off the page to reveal the paper underneath. I used hot pink acrylic paint that costs about $1 from Michael's.
- I stamped the whole page with a script stamp using brown Staz-on ink
- Next, I used rub-on letters on the tag that reads "blah blah" (Didn't have room for another blah!) and edged the tag in black ink
- I covered a naked chipboard arrow with a vintage dictionary page, sanded and edged it in black ink, then added handwritten text that reads: JUST GET OVER IT
- Added an Ampersand (&) sticker
- Added a metal word "believe" (found in the $1 bin at Michael's)
- Dymo label for the date
- On the back of the page I wrote the date and the prompt question.
Well, the prompt is sadness. I was "stuck" on it because I couldn't find anything with the essence of sadness. I didn't want to continue with the other prompts until I created this one. I waited patiently, knowing something would be placed for the prompt.
Today, I saw this truck by my son's class. It's completely burnt. But obviously someone then went and constructed boxes on it for some reason, so I couldn't tell if someone is attempting to live there, or was. It wasn't there a few days ago, so it's fresh. This to me is the epitome of sadness - from whatever reason it was that the truck was burnt, to the boxes, to the garbage and fire debris strewn all over.
This entire thing reeks of pain and that makes my heart sad, indeed.
I think this has been my favorite prompt so far! I had so much fun doodling on these photos of the wildlife in our neighborhood! Blogged here: inspirationeverywhere.blogspot.com/2012/06/new-card-and-m...
Day 09 - Paper // So today's prompt was to take a picture of something paper. I thought a plain white sheet of paper would be just boring as could be, so I decided to take one of my favorite Bella Sara cards off my desk and take a picture of it. They are the most beautifully illustrated trading cards I have ever seen in my life and though I'm more of a cat person, I was really drawn to this series of cards. I always wanted a horse as a little girl and toy version were as close as I ever got.
During Fire Eye'd Boy the monitor terminal fuckup continued and Kevin sent everyone offstage while the sound guys massaged the problem.
Kevin returned during the break to talk with us. One of those other albums they recorded earlier this year will be out "soon", his favorite color is blue, no you may not have a sip of his beer nor a drag of his cigarette, Dirty Three is his favorite band and also, yes he will get naked for us.
And then Kevin Drew took off his clothes.
Prompt: Bokeh
OH RIGHT --- you're looking at a certified THERAPY DOG! On December 8th, we took and PASSED The Bright & Beautiful Therapy Dogs, Inc. certification test. This means we can go visit retirement homes and various hospitals. We'll probably mostly go to the Ronald McDonald House. I'm SO proud of my little man!!!
