Day 09 - Paper // So today's prompt was to take a picture of something paper. I thought a plain white sheet of paper would be just boring as could be, so I decided to take one of my favorite Bella Sara cards off my desk and take a picture of it. They are the most beautifully illustrated trading cards I have ever seen in my life and though I'm more of a cat person, I was really drawn to this series of cards. I always wanted a horse as a little girl and toy version were as close as I ever got.
During Fire Eye'd Boy the monitor terminal fuckup continued and Kevin sent everyone offstage while the sound guys massaged the problem.
Kevin returned during the break to talk with us. One of those other albums they recorded earlier this year will be out "soon", his favorite color is blue, no you may not have a sip of his beer nor a drag of his cigarette, Dirty Three is his favorite band and also, yes he will get naked for us.
And then Kevin Drew took off his clothes.
Before coming to China, you surely had some ideas in your head about what the country and people were like. Some of these perceptions may have been accurate, but more than likely, you have found some of these preconceptions to be misconceptions. Prompted to return after seeing some recent photos of Catesby Tunnel on Flickr, I was amazed to see the changes over the last 20 years. This is a view of the trackbed north of Charwelton, looking towards Catesby Tunnel. It used to be possible to see the tunnel entrance and air shaft from here, but now they are totally obscured by trees that have also destroyed the trackside drainage. I did derive some small comfort from the tracks on the cutting slopes that indicate many people are using this area to enjoy the countryside, or maybe just make a pilgrimage, like me. In the front right foreground are the remains of the old Up Outer Home signal post for Charwelton station :-(

I think I feel the benefit of all those thumbnails before committing to the final sketch! Even though I am still desiring to be much quicker in order to really be able to sketch and go, I felt much more confident in all my angles and perspectives because of doing the thumbnails before hand.
