Don't look too closely at stitching, my machine acted up and actually broke down on the top stitching of lining to bag! So sad. I'm no seamstress, I just put things together. I put extra pockets in the inside. Whoops must have deleted it somehow. 1) I'm a blue jeans girl. I wear mostly jeans. I love clothing with pockets, can't have enough pockets! 2) I am not a seamstress nor a tailor and marvel when someone can sew clothing. I can't follow patterns very well. I cut my jeans up without measuring and sewed this purse together just by eyeballing it. I once sewed a leg hole to an arm hole and visa versa. I also bombed Home Economics sewing 7th grade (they wouldn't let me take wood shop as it was only for boys). I had a plaid skirt I was supposed to make, the plaid didn't line up and I couldn't get the zipper right. I was poor and the money for my pattern, material and thread came out of our food money. My mother was mad. I never wore the skirt and never took it home. Of course I didn't have the build for it either but it was the fashion of the time and we were supposed to make a skirt with a plaid fabric. I did go home that summer and I made two pair of short shorts in cotton fabric and scarf tops, my summer attire. I also made a wrap around skirt and sun dress that had no zippers or armholes. I did it just to prove I could make clothing, but it was all cotton and very simple designs I could see from the picture how it went together. I never really made clothing after that. I did make a few simple dresses for my daughter. When I'm following patterns I usually find out halfway through that I didn't do it right and just continue on hoping it will sort itself out now.

This week's prompt is: Green
Used my Nifty Fifty lens with a 31mm extension tube to get up close
The project is developed using various pre-set text-to-image models, processing text prompt inputs. On the borderline between sensitive content and an easy slip into topics of violence, this project visualizes the depths of the subconscious of these models, excavating the influences of media and online information exchange. The quantified traces of reality and collective histories allow algorithms to generate content that recycles the past – building the spine of quasi-historical narratives – often obfuscated with prejudice and misinformation, along with the author’s personal bias. Generated outputs are presented inside a hypertext object – a tent that the audience can enter, as it were.

Two years ago our hen Grijs laid three eggs. Before the last egg hatched Grijs left the nest. This last egg was incubated by Eric and me. For a few months we were Hummies parents.
This little baby under mom's wing is Hummies brother Jippe.

Cane Hill Hospital (above was designed by architect Charles Henry Howell, whose other designs included those for County Hall and Brookwood Asylum, was opened in 1883, designed as a mental asylum. It's intention was to house the patients from suburban areas in a countryside location to help their recovery. However, in those days, once you were put in a place like this, it was highly unlikely that you'd ever get out, which pretty much held true until it's almost complete closure in 1990. The only open part is the secure unit, a new building separate from the old hospital. There is much history surrounding the hospital, but unfortunately, due to restrictions and incomplete records it is almost impossible to say exactly what happened during the century it was open. Only a small A4 box folder exists, holding all the records, which are vague at best. The blueprints, planning applications, and nearly everything else appear to have been "lost". And obviously, the medical records are still private and unobtainable.
I managed to dig this out of the 1985 BBC Domesday Project :- "Cane Hill is now owned by Bromley Health Authority. There are 643 patients with 300 nurses in 40 wards. These are named after famous people in the nineteenth century. There are many separate buildings for the different functions such as a swimming pool, launderette and hairdressers. There is also a large church. The hospital used to have a large farm where the patients worked with hens, cows, horses and sheep. Now the patients are gradually being integrated into the local community, as Cane Hill may be closing in the 1990’s. Coulsdon's residents are very concerned about this possibility."
Cane Hill Hospital has also had it's fair share of celebrities and their families over the years - most notably Terry Burns, David Bowie's brother. It inspired Bowie to write an number of songs - click here to learn more.
Today, more than a decade of neglect has left the hospital in a dilapidated state, with many of the buildings suffering badly from exposure to the elements and serious vandalism. worse still the last couple of years have seen the hospital suffer from several serious arson attacks, causing widespread damage and a strain on the resources of the firefighters. The fires prompted the owners to erect a new perimeter fence. It's one of the high spiked metal slat versions, topped with razor wire. In some respects it would have been prudent to have installed this ten years ago, which hopefully would have preserved the hospital more or less intact. The instability of the gutted buildings has also accelerated the process of redevelopment of the complex, meaning that Cane Hill may not be around much longer, which will be a great historical loss.

Admittedly, that was not what I expected to hear from my husband on our first-date anniversary but this witty, sarcastic and very vulnerable remark is extremely characteristic of him.
Truth be told, this blurb is pretty accurate – I am thrilled to have him in my life.
So I decided to dedicate a full 12″ by 12″ layout for it.

Focus Humanitarian Assistants for Pakistan Chitral completed 3 days training for volunteers group to overcome any calamity in flash flood.
CHITRAL: Focus Humanitarian Assistant for Pakistan Chitral branch arranged a three days long training for volunteers group as well as for local community to train them how to recovered injured persons safely from debris and dead bodies in flash flood. ICIMOD financially supported Focus for these activities. The volunteers groups were trained how to remove debris in case of flash flood and to recover injured person safely without any more harming them and dead bodies if any. Their volunteers groups demonstrated of desk cutting, wall cutting and iron cutting in case of collapse of any heavy building to recover the people inside the building with a safe ways. They also used of snake eye camera in their demonstration to search human body inside of a collapsed building. They physically and practically demonstrated carrying of any injured person or dead body across the river with the help of a rope where there is no bridge or any other source of
transportation. These training of 7 days and finally of 3 days was a part to develop awareness among the local community regarding response in case of any naturally disaster, calamity like flash flood, earthquake and flood or fire.
These search and rescue teams comprising over male and female volunteers sophisticatedly exhibited of giving first aid to injured persons in case of any emergency. All these activities were done at Reshun canal where focus volunteers traveled with the help of a rope across the river and shifted injured persons and dead bodies if any to train and aware the local community how to overcome these crises in such circumstances. Amir Muhammad program Manager supervising all these activities. In this connection a simple but prompt function was also held at Reshun to pay tribute to local volunteers and community especially women folk. Dr. Karim of AKHS was chief guest on the on the occasion while the ceremony was presided over by Bubul Aman Vice president of BLSO. The speakers stressed upon the local community to must benefited from such fruitful trainings and workshop to overcome any critical situation in case of natural calamity. They said that this is
responsibility of every human being to save the others, which is the real destination and main objective of Islamic teachings. Amir Muhammad Program Manager said that focus Chitral have trained and prepared a group of 19000 both male and female. In 47 Clusters. He said disaster management awareness is must for citizens to use their skill in case of disaster. He said majority of inured people were died at tremendous earthquake at Kashmir due to unawareness and negligence of local community. Hamiduddin member of Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) said that main objectives of creation of human being are to save and support other people when they need their help. The speakers emphasized on local community to must train and be aware regarding participating in any search and rescue activates. A large number of male and women folk participated the ceremony.
