826LA's 3rd Annual Scholarship Day was back at Manual Arts High School to support seniors who had been accepted into college but still needed to apply for funding.
Volunteers worked with students one-on-one over the course of four hours to help them shape their personal statements into polished essays for scholarship prompts

During Fire Eye'd Boy the monitor terminal fuckup continued and Kevin sent everyone offstage while the sound guys massaged the problem.
Kevin returned during the break to talk with us. One of those other albums they recorded earlier this year will be out "soon", his favorite color is blue, no you may not have a sip of his beer nor a drag of his cigarette, Dirty Three is his favorite band and also, yes he will get naked for us.
And then Kevin Drew took off his clothes.

I think I feel the benefit of all those thumbnails before committing to the final sketch! Even though I am still desiring to be much quicker in order to really be able to sketch and go, I felt much more confident in all my angles and perspectives because of doing the thumbnails before hand.
Before coming to China, you surely had some ideas in your head about what the country and people were like. Some of these perceptions may have been accurate, but more than likely, you have found some of these preconceptions to be misconceptions. Which of your misconceptions about Chinese people or culture has surprised you the most? Why?
What misconceptions have you found Chinese people have had about you or America? Why do you think they have these misconceptions about you or America? What have you done when confronted with such misconceptions? Did you try to change the perception? Were your efforts met with success?

This ZIA Prompt #21 was drawn on cardstock with Micron pens. It was colored with Tombrow and Sharpie pens.
Gosh this prompt was difficult for me. I watched all week for vertical and thought and saw lots of things but none of it seemed to work. This photo was my "default", taken while hiking. LOTS of vertical rocks and vertical trees.
