On June 17, 2026, Los Angeles Fire Department crews responded to a fire at a large cold-storage facility at 1400 S Los Palos Street in Boyle Heights. Firefighters found fire visible from the roof of the 1,000' x 500' structure and initially engaged in offensive suppression before a suspected ammonia leak prompted a shift to a defensive posture.

The building's size prevented effective ground access, leading crews to deploy helicopters for water drops, an approach not typically used in structure fires. LAFD fire companies, hazmat specialists, drone pilots, and USAR teams coordinated extensively with partner agencies over several days of suppression and overhaul operations.

The incident prompted evacuations and shelter-in-place orders for the surrounding community, along with extended air and water quality monitoring as crews worked to bring the fire under control.

Fagen-Miller's Prompt ambulance operates dozens of ambulances mostly with Wheeled coach bodies across northwest Indiana.

This one is probably one of the reserve ambulances since its older than most Prompt's.

A 1906 red sandstone tenement designed by John Nisbet. The building is on Pollokshaws Road in the Shawlands part of Glasgow. It has an unusual rooftop garden with views to Queens Park, Pollok Park, the city centre, and beyond to the Campsie and Kilpatrick Hills. It was the first Glasgow tenement to feature fire-proofing possibly prompted by major fires in Chicago and Boston.

Loving the RVA journal prompts!! Great fun and helping me to actually write in this untouched journal thats been on my shelf for ages!!!

I did another chair drawing at the weekend - again, I picked a difficult chair, but I'm starting to think that all chairs are equally hard to draw. The difference this time is that I actually enjoyed it. And it was in a public place - a museum (full disclosure - there was nobody else in the room!)
