One of the old holiday homes/beach houses in Quinns Rock.

Perched at the top of a hill leading down to the ocean, this place enjoys a spectacular view of the water.

Following intense negotiations we've won the contract that I've been working on for the past 6 months. It's going to be a busy year as we move from talking about stuff to actually delivering it.

"Everybody is always talking about the Line That Must Be Drawn, and the Thin Red Lide, and other celebrities like the Parallel Lines. A working line gets no respect. It's not fair. Unlike some other lines I might mention I'm not abstract or one-dimensional." - Clyde, The Yellow Sidewalk Border Line

I've spent a lot of time over the past 6 months working on a bid. The customer has made a decision and its time now for us to start delivering. It's going to be a busy few months.

Day 258 – Homecoming madness day. It seemed like the entire high school was at the park taking photos for the homecoming dance.

Refractions: not what I expected to see. This is my last Project365 picture, at least for now...who knows. My intent was to learn to use my camera a bit and to have fun. Mission accomplished. What I didn't expect to learn - to see life totally differently and to appreciate the beauty in front of me - is an amazing lesson. Looking back at the past year, I realize time is just a concept that we use, and it is not linear like these sequential pictures. Wow. <3 Love and Gratitude

at our favorite neighborhood restaurant, Donatello's. Even shared a tiramisu.

Working from home today trying to get my head around a new piece of software and finally I think the workflow is starting to click.

Also had a few good conversations with new work colleagues and really pleased to see the passion and enthusiasm shared between offices.

Well... Qantas may be grounded at the moment, but despite the weather here in Ballarat, the RAAF Roulettes got up in the air and put on a show in todays Project 365 photo.

They were delayed from starting their Springfest show over Lake Wendouree for a couple hours and put on what looked like a "low show" as the clouds were too low for doing loops and high aerobatics.

I've taken photos of them three times in Ballarat in the last 12 months and each time they have had issues with the weather. They did eventually manage to do a full show at the airport for the RAAF 90th birthday earlier this year though.

Still.. todays show was great (as always) anyway.

Happy Mothers Day to all the moms out there!

Today's Project365 pic is of the prize I collected today from a raffle that I won last week.

Last year, Collingwood and Adelaide competed for the Westpac Community Cup. www.collingwoodfc.com.au/tabid/5586/default.aspx?newsid=1...

Collingwood honoured the CFA by wearing it's logo on their jumpers.

Some of the jumpers auctioned and some were given to CFA for fundraising.

I won Tyson Goldsack's jumper. www.collingwoodfc.com.au/players/playerprofile/tysongolds...

I'm chuffed that I won the prize, but as a Hawks supporter, it will hang in a wardrobe and not in "The Poolroom"

The Game of Thrones series is being talked about quite a bit lately. I watched the first two episodes of series 1 recently. Sadly the filming has made it into an 18 certificate and unsuitable for family viewing.

I've got the Kindle book and the story is indeed interesting, a real page turner.

This is the Aston Villa goal keeper practising before the big game. Manchester United went on to win the game 4-1 to a packed stadium of over 75,000. The game will also be remembered for the fly-by plane which carried a banner calling for the removal of David Moyes, manager of Manchester United football club. Fair to say that most of us thought it was rude and whatever our views they shouldn't be expressed in such a way.

My favorite shoes of all time. I wear these things everywhere...I even have a second pair (brown with off-white stripes and logos).

I photographed this for the 'Our Daily Challenge' Group. The theme today (Feb 2, 2011) was "Quoted".

sexta, feriado, dia de tomar café da manhã com calma, com comida gostosa e louça charmosinha.

Day 142: I was walking around after work and found this large complex of power lines. These are two of three poles, close to each other that were loaded with large power cables, ultimately going underground

#Project365 ~ trademarks day 52

NO MILK! My parents only recently stopped getting milk delivered, because they just don't use enough anymore.

Sunday afternoon baking, made some scones which went nicely with tea.

Day 183: Oneway Street - Oneway Ticket

I've been meaning to take a Project 365 photo of the chimney near the roundabout on Creswick Road, so decided to take it as a night shot.

I never really knew much about it but I have found some Council PDFs on google about it. They say it is heritage listed and was once part of the kilns on the site of a pottery works.

A 2002 Courier article has a different take on it. www.thecourier.com.au/news/local/news/news-features/balla...

The Gnarr Creek vent.

Ever wondered about the history behind the large brick chimney-like structure outside Mitre 10 on the roundabout at the intersection of Creswick Road, Webster Street, Market Street and Doveton Street North?

Many people believe the chimney is the remains of an old foundry of some sort on the site, but they're wrong. The structure is in fact a huge vent built over Gnarr Creek, which runs underground from Lake Wendouree to Yarrowee Creek. The creek once flowed in the sunshine, but was covered over in the late 19th century as the City of Ballarat grew.

The vent was built to relieve the pressure of the creek flowing underneath the road after heavy rains, which swelled the waters of the creek.

``You can hear water gurgling up the vent after a big downpour,'' said Mr Bell.

There would be havoc in the area without the vent.

``A build-up of water pressure could lead to flooding and the possible collapse of the road and surrounding

buildings.''

Edit:

I've also found more council/heritage related PDFs on Google confirming this is a vent. (So I'm not sure why some documents talk about a chimney and others talk about the vent)

One of my twitter friends also mentioned that the height of the tower is level with the overflow outlet at the lake.

I arrived half an hour late to the workshop in Bletchely this morning because of the traffic congestion caused by flooding in Datchet.

Tried to be smart about the return journey by travelling via Aylesbury and avoid the motorway. The satellite navigation still insisted on taking me to the M25 motorway. A good old fashioned map would have been better.

I was so busy I forgot to have lunch today. Felt like a boost at around 2pm went downstairs to make myself a cup of tea and was reminded that I still needed to eat.

My Wife™ loves holding cutie pies :)
