I bought some acrylic boards to use as photo backgrounds and they were tightly wrapped and taped into not one, not two, but three different layers of cardboard. Plus they were each layered with the seam on the opposite side so I had to flip the heavy boards multiple times to get to them. It was quite the adventure just to get them unwrapped.

Seed heads by a dry stone wall.
After a day of 80mph winds with storm Eunice I was intending to photograph the still rough seas but then I saw these seed heads in late afternoon light and liked the calm of the image after such a jarring day.

Artwork close-up from last night. This was a very last minute photo to end the day. I fell asleep during the basketball game and at that time the Raptors were behind, and when I woke up Claire said the Raptors won. So that was a productive nap!

Q. What do you get when you cross Eurovision with Justin Bieber?
A. Today's Project 365 pic, 1960's Dutch singing sensation 'Heintje'.
Another classic title that if you play it backwards it summons the Devil.
Here he is in action: youtu.be/2DZcws0mtaM
And here's his wikipedia page: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heintje_Simons

I took my oldest son out to play in the snow this morning while my 20mth old was in the warm with his dad (was just too cold and windy for him this morning). My 5yr old was supposed to be building a snowman with me..... but he was busy playing in the snow to help - then he went indoors - leaving me with an unfinished project! So... naturally, I had to finish! There was my son, indoors, mouthing instructions to me through the window!!!
So, here is my snowman - no help at all from my little man!
I had an amazing all-day shoot with the duo Sleepy Kitty on Sunday. This is but a tiny sample of dozens of shots we got. We blew through five scenes in less than six hours.
Many thanks to the very talented Jeff Hill for assisting on the shoot.
Unprocessed shot, straight from the camera.

Day 71: I was messing around with Auto Focus Bracketing and was having trouble getting it to work correctly. The pictures all seemed to have the same focus no matter what i did.
If any one has any experience in this please share.
So i kind of faked it by taking to pictures then manually merging them in Photoshop.

Rather than take the piss out of my Grandparent's record collection like I normally do, for today's Project 365 pic I thought I'd show this different one.
It is a promotional record from the Amoco Petrol company.
This 33 1/3 is called "Nice Clean Petrol"
It was probably free with a tank of fuel, but they now sell for $0.99 or the rarer ones sell for about $10.
The song "Where the Mind Can Breathe" sounded like this youtu.be/9jp9mhtPclw
Apparently there was also a picture disc with a photo of the car and people from the commercial at the time youtu.be/w4yHgjX75ys

today i pulled the empress. and it felt righteous for the writing i've been doing.
The Empress
Earth Mother. Creation. A woman constantly full of new ideas and thoughts. A woman who gives new life to herself. A trail blazer. A female presence that is caring and motherly. Fertility. Birth of an idea or new energy. Family issues. Hearth and home. The need to focus on family. Feminine healing. Need to cultivate your own creativity. A woman unto herself, not dependent on a partner for fulfillment. A ruler and leader of others. Motherly-type.

Ryan with his new skateboard practicing how to Ollie! We drove out to a near by construction zone where he had access to the whole street.
The local public library put on a Family Literacy Day event featuring children's illustrator/author Peggy Collins. She read a couple of stories then invited children to do some of their own illustrating.
The weather was terrible when I went out for today's Project 365 photo.
I wanted to do another alleyway shot but it was just too wet, so I decided on a street shot, so I could set up under cover and step out into the weather briefly to take my photo.
The colours were nice with the reflections off the wet road, but I really liked it more when I went Black & White, while keeping anything red with a filter.
This shot is Sturt Street, not far from last night's location.
We went to see the performance marking the end of the dance intensive. It was nice seeing the dancers saying goodbye to each other - they all made new connections.
Tonight's Project365 photo was taken at the University of Ballarat SMB Campus.
I was there taking shots of other old buildings, but I really liked the colour of the brick wall under the streetlights and how it was contrast against the early evening sky.
Jun 18 - Today I went to the Psychic Fayre. It was interesting and met up with several friends I haven't seen in awhile and met @fablanta who I know from Twitter.
Pictured above (from l-r) are Nathan Gladwin, Jessica Gladwin, Ian Lawman, Sue Treanor, and Micheal Treanor-Smith.
Today's Project365 photo is of one of the fringe locations of the BIFB (Ballarat International Foto Biennale).
It is the old butchers shop in Seymour Street. To be honest, I never even knew it was there, but then again, there are so many old disused corner stores around town that you drive past without a second thought.
The exhibitors weren't here today, but I was able to check out most of the photos through the window. Some really great shots.
The BIFB winds up this weekend, so if you haven't had a chance, get along and see some terrific work by Australian and International Photographers.
Oh yeah... it's free too
