After the announcement made by PoisonGirl aka www.flickr.com/photos/rowan__ashlar/19673266728/ I started to check my MIO.
I sealed both with MSC matt (same can), but Kairn is the only one showing signs of cracks (he's the newest). When I painted him was summer time here. You can see them very clearly thanks to my Reflex and light position.
Mr. Hobby will read me...

I just deleted this album then re-loaded it to un tag a dealer i have problems with and to blow off steam about his companies' problem. it won't take the wind out of my sales for the love of life on the road. I just spent the last two hours deleting tags to dealers I’ve made large purchases from. The next step is to take their name off of my Truck and Fifth Wheel! That will teach them! I’ve even deleted two entire albums of photos with tags leading friends to the dealerships. My small protest but to have to spend more money in civil court. There should be a court for dealing with consumer products after large purchases and problems exist. Who can afford to do that and or spend the time teaching the bad dealer a lesson! It’s hard when you live on fantasy island and want to believe there are people out there that are true pros and true craftsmen. I know there are a few people out there because I met them and refused to do business with other dealers because I met them too. I’ve seen a guy weld a Holiday Rambler that broke in half over night at the frame and get me back on the road. There is even an RV dealer five minutes from my house that did such a poor job on a 30 foot trailer I want to restore that they lost a ten-grand restoration job! I went elsewhere for a purchase. Where is Brett Michaels when you need him! Now to find the proper venues to vent. Do you think the dealer’s sites post bad reviews? I’m the perfect sucker for a Salesman that cares nothing but for the commission or if they aren’t paid on commission for the BS they lay on you to kill time to eventually close the sale. I shopped for years at many different places within the State and even some Florida dealers for the right RV for me. I have twenty years’ road experience with travel trailers in and out of campgrounds and dealers. The hard part is when you find a good mechanic you are often down the road on the next adventure. The dealer can’t take away my enthusiasm for the joy of my new trailer. They are so useful when built properly and so versatile for travel or events or full time Road Warriors! Who wouldn’t be frustrated when there are 18 jobs that need attention! I was told by the salesman I’d get a good education from top to bottom and the demo guy was going to send me out of the dealership with the fifth wheel receiver or jaws ungreased with no Teflon pad for the fifth wheel! I really needed a fifth wheel hooking and unhooking lesson along with good Hydraulic jack lesson. I was good for most other things except how the solar panel works. But they try hard to push you off on the useless manuals or Destruction books because they are over worked and under staffed in the service area. I get that. Except learning the hard way almost cost me my hand with a bed and the fifth wheel. Luckily I’m quick. Sometimes I don’t know if I should have been a great mechanic a teacher or a great lawyer. I walked HIM through greasing the B&W hitch and greasing the receiver and made him put the Teflon pad he was going to make me leave without that I bought two years ago in anticipation of having a fifth wheel from Mark (the good guy) at the RV show in Greensboro. No kidding, I put a lot of thought into this. Needless to say, he has mechanical skills beyond my capability and they used the excuse it was market time or the RV show to be short with me. Now that I have tested things on the trailer before a trip and found at least 18 jobs that need to be done after waiting for a call for parts that had already been delivered and a call never received then accused of not paying for screens that didn’t fit and that a $125.00 per hour fee was going to be charged, who wouldn’t be upset? Did I mention this? It will always be something! They can just put the nail in the coffin for the common belief that it is over after the Sale is done. Getting passed off from one department to the other is unforgiveable! The excuse is familiar. I just do Sales; you have to talk to Service. Service says we just do Service, you have to go to parts. Even with lifetime warranty printed and tagged all over the trailer with a promise to teach you about how everything works I’ve found out the hard way from a popular dealer in Rural Hall, NC that it is not the case! It’s too bad I didn’t buy my Truck or RV and drive all the way to Atlanta to deal with @Scott Trail or find a similar friend that would make sure everything is right. Dream on Consumer! So, if any name bashing starts remember we always have one friend in the car, RV, insurance or Sales business. When we overall call all Salesman assholes or all insurance companies thieves or all dealings with service mechanics complete disasters we have to remember we have people on our friend’s lists that have those jobs. You know what, right now after a huge purchase and being shuffled it’s amazing I can work up any mercy for any of them. I’ve tried to be a Salesman. Service over profit was my downfall. I’ve tried to be a Customer Service Rep. It was difficult talking to people that needed parts after a large purchase when you just learned there aren’t any parts! We are all selling something whether we know it or not. If you aren’t taking pride in your job to be the best you can be and just killing time you are a part of this problem! Not everyone has a dream job. But it is just my turn to take a punch, but I’m swinging back! It is just unfortunate for them I know a little about RVs. I must have too high a standard to believe that there are really people that give a damn about products or follow through after the sale. I hate that we just don’t care attitude that leaves you searching for a better place. I had a place in Mooresville that I will find again for service. Hopefully the same family runs the place. It is near the Lake in Terrell. I need to return to and find another mobile mechanic once that moved on to a dealer in the mountains and I can’t dig his name up. There are good people out there. They are so hard to find. Maybe it is just me. I expect too much after laying down a hard-earned wage or a life savings for a house, new car, recreation vehicle or piece of equipment that is supposed to work. When I get a new toy, I want to take a photo of every nut bolt and screw on it, one because I am proud, the other reason is for future reference when things fall apart. Buyer’s remorse sucks even if you know the term all too well, Buyer Beware! I saw one guy at the current dealership I am dealing with now running, literally running to get from customer to customer after my purchase. In between him and the good mechanics are problems! The good guy’s name is Mark. He is extremely smart and knows RV’s and fifth wheels up and down. He was literally running with a ladder and carrying three heavy hitches with him to try to wait on at least two customers at the same time. I’m always leaving a window or looking for the good and hoping I’m not back on fantasy island. There were excellent qualified educated trailer technicians in the service in a good building with the right tools to build trailers from scratch, including paint. Getting to them is a full-time job on the customer’s end. They even had parts delivered that they owed me on what they call a we owe and hadn’t bothered to call in a three-week period. They wanted to double charge for some bug screens around 50 bucks until I produced a paid receipt. Even after the Salesmen told (I know his name) the parts manager he personally sat with the mechanic for a half hour trying patiently to put on the wrong screen. Even with lifetime warranty written all over my trailer they wanted to charge me for service $125.00 per hour for labor. That must be some sort of trick. For $125.00 an hour most any parts should be free! I waited three hours even with a scheduled appointment to even get told they were ready to take her in. Two days later I had to force the call to get an eta on when she would be ready. Imagine if I were a full timer living full time in my RV or still doing three shows a day in three different cities a day. Fortunately, I am gifted with a little time. The service manager mentioned to do the 18 jobs I needed to be done he still had to order parts. Imagine I was sold a unit that I (The Customer) found at least 18 things to do after leaving the lot and running the unit. So, I am going to rescue my unit tomorrow and hope what they did fix after two days waiting can get me through my first trip until parts come for the rest of the job. Do you think I am a fool to take it back? It is a hard call! I’ll know tomorrow if I receive a bill or the trailer is in good shape. The tough part is, after you have been tough with service now your unit is at their mercy. I was told by a good agent I don’t take any crap from anyone. But sometimes it costs me. But those of you that are passive and just let them walk all over you take a bigger beating. With full time jobs or people that depend on their unit as a full-time vehicle you can imagine the pressure to change up vacation times or deal with time off from your job to take care of problems.
Posting the last five 'winter' photos taken on 6 December 2024, SE of Calgary. I need to get back to colourful images for a while : )
On 6 December 2024, it was a definite Chinook day! Though everywhere was overcast, and not good for taking photos, the sky was gorgeous. The colours changed as the afternoon wore on, getting closer and closer to sunset time.
I had been cautious about heading out on snow-covered roads, but at least the main roads were clear. Even the backroads were pretty good, though there was still snow on them. The temperature got up to about 9C, I believe, so no problems with freezing cold. Crazy Calgary weather! Having suffered from migraine for many years, I always feel sorry for all those who are dealing with it. A Chinook can cause real misery.
Because of leaving home late morning, I knew I couldn't do a long drive, so I headed to a familiar area SE of the city. I was hoping that I might just come across a Snowy Owl, but no luck yet. If i remember correctly, I have usually seen these beautiful owls early in the new year, rather than before Christmas. Lots of time to still be lucky.
I was surprised at how many times I flushed yet another flock of Gray Partridge. I tend not to notice them until they suddenly take flight and disappear way, way out in a field. This happened maybe half a dozen times. I did post a rather blurry shot yesterday, just for the record. Several Black-billed Magpies were the only other birds I happened to see. When I drove past, they flew up on to fence posts. There was some kind of unseen carcass down in the ditch that they had been feeding on.
I'm not sure if anyone else has had this problem, but I can't for the life of me remove the hair product from MM Jade and Cloe. It won't come out no matter what I do. The strange thing is I'm usually able to get Bratz hair silky smooth pretty easily. A portion of their hair is just clumped together and the texture is almost glue-like. Maybe I'm just being picky but it's bothering me :/ if anyone has any ideas on how to remove it I'd be so grateful 💕
sometime the solution can be right in front of your nose, or, in this instance, on top of one's head :)
The hype is that the iPhone 4 is 'unusable' because of it's supposed antenna problem.
Hogwash.
This is the best smartphone in the world. And now, the safest buy. 100% refund guarantee, AND a free case!
People wouldn't be so worked up over it if this was a Windows phone, or pshh, even an Android.
One of my friends has a Droid Phone that doesn't work without a small piece of tissue in between the battery pack and case. A Windows Mobile Phone carrying friend has to hold down the volume up button on his phone throughout the entire call or it keeps turning itself down.
That new Droid X has the most formidable looking specs of any phone on the market, but is hampered by it's operating system and apparently some screen flickering issues.
You don't hear anyone screaming 'UNUSABLE!' - That's just how other phones are expected, and accepted to work. Have a problem? Rig it to work, or live with it.
Apple prides itself on releasing products that are designed beautifully and function near-perfectly. So they set themselves up for intense scrutiny and over-magnified flaws on every product.
No-one's perfect, sure, but this phone is still amazing, and anyone that actually owns one knows the supposed antenna problems mean next to nothing in REAL use.
The iPhone 4 may be unusable for left-handed, tight gripped people that like to make calls right after a sweaty workout - that also don't care enough about their beautiful phone to buy any sort of case. And that only rely on direct phone communication, rather than all the modes of communication the iPhone was meant for: Like... the INTERNET.
Even so, I haven't dropped any calls on my iPhone 4, with or without my case.
Granted, I live in a good signal area with little congestion, and am right handed, have a case, and am not stupid.
If and when they have an iPhone 5 on Verizon... Apple will rule the smartphone world.
Hey, that HTC EVO 4G ain't so bad either though. Bravo, Sprint!

Because my Saxo has been developing more and more problems lately, worst of which, the electronics decided to start living their own life entirely... And thus suddenly became very unreliable... I was planning on keeping it untill Februari when the APK/MOT would run out... But it quickly got to a point where I am uncertain wheter or not it starts at all... And if it does, whether or not I can use my indicators... No, that sort of thing takes out all the fun... So... Here, a little earlier than planned, it's replacement =)
I've been thinking about many different small and fun cars. But then realized a Berlingo would be much more ideal. It's kind of all a man could ever need in one package...
It's about as fast as my BX... It's more comfortable than the Saxo. The amount of stuff you can take with you is better than both the Saxo and BX combined... And fuel wise it consumes somewhere in the middle of the two. Perfect!
So what about the state of this particular Berlingo... Well, it's full of dents. It's done 301 K. It's been maintained to some extent, as also in some places, very creatively. It certainly has it's faults... But if the garage won't find much more than I already know to be wrong with it, It's worth to invest a little into. It works very well for the €650,- I paid and perfectly suits my requirements for a daily-driver right now.
It's quite literally a driving shed. An old workhorse that was never meant to become a prize winning stallion. Perfect for transporting stuff without having to care about a scratch more or less... Nothing fancy to look at, but when driving it just feels like your old trusted pair of jeans... Yeah, it's got a hole in it here and there... But it's way too comfortable still to just dispose of it =D

I shot in DX mode which crops away the extra pixels and takes me 1.5X closer while allowing for up to 7 FPS with the Nikon D810's Nikon MB-D12 Battery Grip using the 8 AA battery option! 8 Duracles took me through around 3,000 shots no problem--maybe more! I was shooting at the equivalent of 900mm with the 1.5x crop factor! Pretty close! Had I gone with the Nikon D4s, I would have gotten 12 fps, but no DX crop factor, as the sensor has only around 14mp, compared to the d810's 36 megapixels! Sure the larger pixel size on the Nikon D4s full frame sensor comes in handy indoors or at night, but in the brigth sun, there's more than enough light for the smaller pixels in crop mode! Sure we lose some pixels from the outer edges when shooting in DX crop mode, but most of those pixels would be cropped away in lightroom anyway. And the smaller files make the memory cards last longer, while also upping the FPS to 7 shots per second! Not quite 12 FPS< but still awesome and enough I felt!

Cotton and wool fibers and aniline dyes.
I do not foresee buying any vintage Navajo rugs. Not being able to afford one takes the decision out of my hands, but even if that were not a factor, it would be reckless to bring a weaving such as this into a household where there are two cats. Think of the cat hair and claw snags the carpet would have to endure!
========================================================
Here's the scoop:
THE HISTORY OF ANTIQUE NAVAJO GERMANTOWN WEAVINGS
From the 1870s to around 1905 government licensed traders provided commercially spun and dyed woolen yarns to the Navajos for rug weaving. These yarns were spun and dyed at the mills in Germantown, Pennsylvania and transported to the Southwest via the newly constructed railroad.
The Navajos embraced the new yarn as it eliminated the need to shear their sheep, wash the wool, card the wool, and hand spin it with a drop spindle on their thigh. Plus, the fine yarns came in many bright colors – already dyed with commercial aniline dyes.
Many fine rugs were woven with this new yarn. The bright new colors ushered in a new era of detailed and bright intricately designed “eye dazzler” rugs. They would occasionally latch hook fringe with the extra yarns – especially on saddle blankets.
Since the Navajo weavers were no longer spinning their own wool, they needed a source for their warp thread (foundation thread). The early traders began providing cotton string for their warp. This created a problem, as Navajo Rugs were known to be strong and durable with hand spun wool warp – but the cotton string would break easily. This significantly reduced the durability of these new rugs and over time the demand for the commercial yarn rugs ceased.
Soon, the traders could no longer sell Germantown weavings, and around 1900 they took the commercial yarns off the shelf and encouraged the weavers to go back to using their own hand spun wool. Thus, most Germantown weavings hail from the late 1870s – 1900 era.
Since Navajo weavers had access to Germantown yarn for only a short period of time, relatively few Germantown rugs were woven and larger sizes are particularly scarce. Germantown rugs were not sturdy enough to be used as floor rugs and not warm enough to be used as blankets, but their use as wall hangings emerged over time. Today, Germantown weavings are among the most popular antique Navajo weavings. Their bright colors and intricate designs offer a view into a brief and fascinating time in Navajo Rug history.

One simply cannot get a decent class of lady's maid these days. The last one laced me so tightly into this dress that I was quite unable to raise my hand to her. And when I remonstrated with the hussy, she threatened to abandon me to that predicament, having - as she phrased it - better things to do on her Bingo night. Bingo, indeed!
I wouldn't mind, but I'd got tickets for the wrestling.
Apologies to those of you who have no interested in St. Patrick’s Day but I am about to upload many photographs of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Dublin. I will begin with photographs of Shorecrest High School and over the next few days I will upload photographs of other bands and pageant groups. I selected Shorecrest because they are a favourite of mine.
I had a few problems this year [1] The organisers had in the past provided two buses as platforms for the media and this year they also supplied buses but one was for international media and the other was for local media. The bus that I was assigned was badly located because multiple street signs obstructed the view to a unacceptable extent and the result was that I had to shoot at an unsuitable angle or crop my photographs to an unacceptable degree [many of the photographers were really annoyed however as I am a street photographer rather than a professional I was not especially annoyed and I can’t really complain] [2] I used a camera/lens combination that I had not used before and this also impacted on my photographs especially as some were out of focus. [3] I was suffering from a really bad cold [that’s life, is it not].
The good news is that the weather was excellent and the parade was interesting and I enjoyed. After the parade I had an excellent lunch at Hanoi Hanoi and the owner supplied me with a special treat to cheer me up … thanks!

The Vienna Opera Ball
Viennese Opera Ball
Just as already the operetta and the waltz had been imported from Paris to Vienna, comes also the model for the Vienna Opera Ball from the Seine metropolis. By a corresponding approval of Duke Philip of Orleans, on 2 January 1716 a "public ball" can be held for the first time, to which everyone has access who can pay the admission fee of five livres. First, the balls take place at the Comédie française, but already in 1717 was given the Académie de Musique, the Paris Opera House, the special right of the organization. Nevertheless, in the Comédie furthermore take place balls, with the audience far more popular than the 'opera balls'.
In 1861 the construction of an opera house begins at the Ringstrasse, on the explicit desire of Emperor Franz Joseph not solely intended for performances of operas and ballets, but also for the staging of the Opera Ball. With this, have been created both the spatial and the official conditions for a genuine Viennese Opera Ball according to Parisian model. It should, however, take another eight years before a dance event in the opera could be held for the first time after the completion of the house in 1869.
Initially, due to the increasing violence at the Paris balls but only Court Opera soirees take place. This includes elegant evening soirees with musical entertainment, but without dancing. On 11 December 1877 opened the court musical director Wilhelm Gericke the first Court Opera Soirée with the "Wedding March" by Felix Mendelssohn. After several concert pieces the baton is handed over to the Strauss family. First, Johann Strauss son conducts the Vienna Philharmonic with a waltz, followed by his brother Edward with a specially for this day composed "Opera Soirée Polka". After that, the dance-crazed Viennese are no longer stoppable: all chairs were put to the side, and the evening, which was thought without dance pleasure, ends like a ball. This is the hour of birth of the opera ball, even though for the time being still far away from being called so.
Already the second event on 15 January 1878 is announced officially as "Second Hofopernsoirée (Ball)". The third, for 12 February 1878 scheduled Soirée, is canceled for reasons of piety, since Pope Pius IX. a few days earlier had died. After the uncomplicated election of Leo XIII. to new head of the Church the ball is on 23 February rescheduled.
After these three opera soirees from March of the same year take place redoutes in the Court Opera, continuing the tradition of masked balls and linked with strict dress code: "in the hall, with the exception of the lodges, the ladies the stay is only permitted in an elegant mask, short costumes are not allowed. The gentlemen of civil appear in evening dress with white cravat, cylinder or Claquehut (opera hat - chapeau claque). "During the next twenty years during the carnival time each year should be organized two, in some seasons even three redoutes. However, at these festivals the Viennese society is not as boundless as once united in the common ball pleasure, because in the meantime the guests are spread across three different levels, not only differing in space but also in the appearance of guests from each other. Are the boxes the aristocratic guests in elaborate ball gowns reserved, so gather in the stalls the bourgeois guests, for which there is no mask constraint. In addition, there are the galleries that are accessible to every viewer without special admission ticket.
1899 the popular balls for the time being come to an abrupt end, as is discovered that the opera for such festivals does not comply with the safety regulations. Since an appropriate conversion proves to be too costly, the redoutes are discontinued for an unforeseen period of time. A certain compensation for those festivals offers in the following years the in the new town hall held "Ball der Stadt Wien".
Only in 1921, the tradition of the redoutes in the Court Opera has been resumed, but without being able to follow on the success of previous years. After several breaks followed in 1924, 1928 and 1929 again opera redoutes, neither musically nor stylistically corresponding with the level of the defunct imperial monarchy-time and they are not characterized by the former wit, charm and temperament. The twenties are not only politically, but also culturally a very different time in which with the progressive emancipation of women the meaning of a redoute became obsolete.
And so 1935 is launched the first as such referred to Opera Ball. In a time of political uncertainty, it complied in addition to social also with diplomatic and official representative purposes. Therefore, it takes no wonder that the guest list has many personalities from politics. The last opera ball before the outbreak of the Second World War should be organized in 1939, when Austria was already 'connected' by Adolf Hitler to the German Reich. Therefore respectively stiff and artificial resulted according to that this night on which no happiness will raise, previously the rule.

Reopening of the Vienna State Opera, 1955
© wissenmedia
Shortly before the end of World War II, the Vienna Opera House on 12 March 1945 almost completely was destroyed by a bomb. It should take ten years until the house was rebuilt and with Ludwig van Beethoven's opera "Fidelio" at the 5th November 1955 ceremoniously could be opened. In the following carnival season with this also the first opera ball of the post-war period can be celebrated, but which has changed its face much: "Actually, the Opera Ball is not a Viennese event anymore, but already a pan-European one. A ball night for which the world envies us".
This new image has remained to this day, with the only difference that the Opera Ball is now no longer considered only as a pan-European, but as an international event. A highlight of the evening is the annual opening of the ball by about 180 debutantes who on the arm of the to them for this evening assigned Cavaliers in a Polonaise move in. After the Vienna Philharmonic for many years had taken over the musical interpretation of the evening, there is since 1982 a Vienna Opera Ball Orchestra grounded specifically for this purpose. In addition, since 1984, there is also a Viennese Opera Ball Ladies Ensemble, made up of 15 musicians and beyond the ball unfolding a very busy concert schedule.
Today on the Opera Ball there is not exclusively danced just waltz anymore. Up to ten orchestras or soloists play at the same time in different places of the house, and as a concession to modern times there is since some years even a nightclub. And yet, the waltz enjoys as the king of dances to this day unbroken popularity, without which for many no Viennese Opera Ball is thinkable. Another innovation is also the since 1981 in the Schwind Foyer installed Viennese Opera Ball Casino, which is a special attraction especially for the younger guests. Collectors will also appreciate the annually by the casino issued special Opera Ball chips.
How to become a debutante?
Proposals are now mostly send in by the dance schools of the country. The first condition is the perfect mastery of the links waltz, which is checked at a Vortanztermin (dance audition date - don't worry, the Lipizzans are doing the same!). Has the potential debutante overcome this hurdle with flying colors, it is about to find a suitable partner for the big night. The criteria for this choice are less situated in personal relationships than in pure dance qualities. After finally the couples have found each other, for five days under the expert guidance of several ballet master not only the links waltz, but also the choreography of the marching in is practiced until everything is perfectly rehearsed. The question of clothes is strictly regulated for the couples: the ladies in white dresses with a little crown on the head and the gentlemen in evening dress. To underline the internationality of the ball, every year also Debütantinnen and Debütanten from around the world are invited.
Guests
Artists from the world of the theater and the music, film and television can be found on the Vienna Opera Ball as well as well-known athletes and fashion designers. Diplomats and politicians from home and abroad appreciate the special atmosphere, and every now and then you meet also members of the European nobility. The Opera Ball today is no longer just a lavish celebration in which together a whole evening and a full night is celebrated, but increasingly also a social forum that connects professional and political contacts in a pleasant way with a social event.
Scandals
In recent decades, the Vienna Opera Ball, however, has not only found unanimous support, but has been increasingly criticized. In the 80s made fights between angry citizens that characterized the event as a "festival of the political and monetary bigwigs" and the police the headlines. Unforgettable is also the demonstration against the reprocessing plant Wackersdorf when in 1987 the Bavarian Prime Minister Franz-Josef Strauss participated in the Opera Ball. In addition, now almost every year during the opera ball take place demonstrations against these seemingly senseless waste of funds in the face of hardship and misery, hunger and wars, social and health problems in the world.
Nevertheless, the Opera Ball has lost none of its fascination and all over the world - from Bangkok via Kuala Lumpur and Korea to Tokyo, Singapore, Seoul and Dubai, Ankara, Istanbul, Kiev, Prague and Budapest to Rome, New York, Los Angeles and Washington - it found imitation, without being able to ever really come close to the Viennese model. Even if the question of the contemporaneity of the Vienna Opera Ball ever and again was controversially discussed, at the latest in 2005 has been shown that even this traditional event cannot stop short before general social changes: for the first time a smoking ban for the Opera Ball was pronounced.

Future Foundation
Reed Richards has become discouraged by Earth's scientists' view of and applications of science which causes more problems. Richards decided to leave the Singularity Conference body, to put together a new group of free-thinking individuals to plan for a better future for all of humanity and Earth. Richards plans to mold the new young team so they will come up with solutions to the world's problems.
The roster of the team consist of the hero Alex Power, the android Dragon Man, four evolved Moloids Tong, Turg, Mik, and Korr and Bentley 23 who is a clone of The Wizard. Artie Maddicks and Leech later join as recruits.
Dr. Nathaniel Richards, the father of Reed Richards later joins the team with some newly discovered ancient atlanteans Vil and Wu. Surprisingly Spider-Man joins the team; this is the final request from Human Torch.
The most shocking of all the recruits was Doctor Doom who was invited by Valeria and Nathaniel Richards. The Thing objects to his membership and attacks him, but Reed and Sue break up the fight.
Due the presence of alternate Reed Richards from the Interdimensional Council of Reeds, Mr. Fantastic made an alliance with many villains such as Mad Thinker, A.I.M., Wizard, Diablo and High Evolutionary to plan how to stop them.
Then they lead the battle to High Evolutionary's Forever City where the "Reed-Alpha" escapes with Doctor Doom to Latveria, while the others two were captured by the Kree army and used to revive the Supreme Intelligence.
After returning to Baxter Building, Richards reunited other heroes to fight the Universal Inhumans in Attilan, but at the time they where preparing to go at the rooftop, a Kree invasion started.
Reed used Iron Man's armor and Sue's power to create a force field around Manhattan, at the same time the Cult of the Negative Zone opened the portal to the Negative Zone after Spider-Man failed to stop them, the portal revealed a living Johnny Storm with an enslaved Annihilus.
Meanwhile, the kids of the Future Foundation uses the Panic Room system to teleport the top of the Baxter Building near Latveria, there they help Nathaniel, Kristoff Vernard, Reed-Alpha and Dr. Doom to rebuild the Bridge, so Reed-Alpha would return home.
There, the Mad Celestials tries to enter this Earth to destroy it. Doctor Doom and Reed-Alpha tried to stop them although Reed was killed using the Ultimate Nullifier and Doctor Doom by the Celestials.
When Johnny gathered the team, he did so by using fire to draw the iconic "4" symbol in the sky above the Baxter Building. Reed, Sue, Ben and Peter boarded one of the Annihilation Wave's ships controlled by Johnny, who used the rest of the ships to battle the Kree army until the Inhumans asked to finish them by their own hand.
Meanwhile the other heroes on Earth where dealing with the scraps of the battle which could damage the planet. Reed and Sue summoned Galactus, who completely destroyed the Kree army.
That moment, the Mad Celestials appeared to destroy this universe. Although the team tried to use the Hub (a weapon of mass destruction created by the Reeds), they couldn't defeat the Mad Celestials. Then, a future version of Franklin and Valeria appeared as part of Nathaniel Richards's plan.
The Future Franklin used his power to heal Galactus and destroy the Mad Celestials, saving the day. Later, the Baxter Building was easily rebuilt, Mr. Fantastic showed a new secondary headquarters called Foundation and new costumes were given to the members of the Future Foundation, being the Fantastic Four reformed as part of it.
Ant-astic Four
The Future Foundation would soon be left in the hands of Scott Lang the current Ant-Man after Reed discovered that the cosmic energy that gave him his powers was decaying, forcing him and the rest of the Fantastic Four to go into a different universe to fix the problem.
Scott was left with She-Hulk, Medusa and Johnny Storm's current girlfriend Darla Deering to be the replacement Fantastic Four for only originally four minutes unless something went wrong, which did happen.
Time Runs Out
Reed and the Future Foundation began working on vessels capable of surviving the imminent destruction of the Multiverse.
When the final incursion took place between Earth-616 and Earth-1610, Mister Fantastic gathered in the life raft every person he could and deployed its measures. When the vessel approached the central point of the incursion, it suffered a hull breach that led to the death of Reed's family and the members of the Future Foundation.
Secret Wars
Reed later gained the omnipotent power of the Beyonders that Doctor Doom formerly possessed and rebuilt Earth-616, bringing all of its inhabitants back with no memories of what had occurred. Mr. Fantastic also brought his family and the Future Foundation back from the dead, and together with their help, began to reconstruct the entire Multiverse with help from the Molecule Man.
The Return of the Fantastic Four
Years following the Future Foundation's multiversal adventures, a mysterious being called the Griever at the End of All Things who repudiated the Future Foundation's mission of creating new universes confronted the team as soon as Franklin was depleted of his ability to create entirely new realities.
She killed the Molecule Man and caused the collapse of the hundreds of universes charted by the Future Foundation, forcing the team to make a final stand. The Fantastic Four were reunited when Mister Fantastic tricked the Griever into giving them the chance to summon the remaining members of the Fantastic Four for backup. In addition to teleporting Ben and Johnny, Reed also brought every superhero who had been part of the team at one point in order to defeat the new foe.
With his allies, Reed tricked the Griever and forced her to retreat or risk being stranded in the reality they were in. While Reed, Susan, Valeria, and Franklin chose to return to Earth-616, the rest of the Future Foundation chose to continue exploring the Multiverse in hopes of restoring the Molecule Man.
Mister Fantastic appointed Alex Power as leader. After the Future Foundation got trapped inside an asteroid with vicious creatures, Alex Power and Dragon Man used an interdimensional teleporter to get help. They ended up teleporting into the apartment of Alex's sister Julie.
Julie barely got a say before Alex and Dragon Man teleported her back to the Future Foundation's location. Julie quickly used her ability to fly to get everyone safely back to their ship. Julie decided to stay with the Future Foundation as her life had been falling apart and wanted to help the kids as a teacher.
After traveling the multiverse and fighting The Maker. They found a way home using The Forever Gate and went their separate ways.
Future Foundation Spider-Man
This suit was created for Spider-Man when he joined the Future Foundation following the death of the Human Torch. It is made from Unstable Molecules, thus it can repair itself, never get dirty, and change its appearance.

I haven't posted any photos of Ginger in a while. Truth is, she's been sick off and on for a while now.
First we found out she somehow ended up with a bad case of kennel cough, despite having had her bordetella vaccine. While we were working on getting that cleared up, she tested positive for hookworms (again). We treated her for both things and last week she looked like she was on her way feeling better. Throughout all of this though, Ginger has had sporadic days where she'll stop eating and drinking, and instead eat lots of grass. We attributed it to the various other illness she had, but once those cleared up, it still left this persistant upset stomach a big mystery.
Last Thursday we saw the vet, who put her on Pepcid in case too much stomach acid was the problem, and mentioned that if that didn't work, she might have a stomach worm. Stomach worms are rare, but often seen in dogs who spend a lot of time outside because they come from insects and sometimes rodents or frogs. Well, Ginger spent some time as a stray before we got her, so a stomach worm seems likely. I just picked up the medication to treat her for that yesterday afternoon, but haven't given it to her yet.
This morning, she vomitted blood.
I've talked to the vet already and we have an appointment for Ginger this afternoon. Needless to say, I'm very worried about her. Hopefully this new development is just another symptom of this elusive stomach worm that can be easily treated. I hate seeing my adorable puppy so sick and miserable.
Update: Well, I ended up having to see a vet I don't like and now I'm just frustrated. He gave us more antibiotics and steroids, then sent us home. I don't agree with his assessment at all. She was just on antibiotics! We're going to give her some stomach soothing medication (no thanks to the vet), and hopefully that will make her feel better enough to eat and drink. I might be wrong, but I don't think more antibiotics are the answer here. Thanks for all your concern!
This buddy took off for hunting so I tried to follow it. Half way climbing the hill, found it in the grass. When pointing at it, it stared back XD

I really don't like the school system. Kids have to study a lot of difficult and different things and finally they don't need to learn so many and actually don't remember most of the things. I like the idea for Democratic education. Where the kids can choose what to do and what to learn. I want to have this chance to enroll my kid in a school like this, unfortunately they are not yet widespread.
Shot this a while back when Fake Problems came to Orlando to play a show. Ran out of sunlight due to time constraints, and just wanted to get a shot of the band rockin' their personalized 'Fake Problems - Members Only' Nike Jacket
I have no problem stating this: Animal Kingdom is my favorite park in WDW.
From the incredible theming, diversity of attractions, and two of the best shows in the 'World', there's so much to enjoy.
Let's go back to theming, though, because as photographers nothing is better than hunting the hard work and creativity of the imagineers. From head to toe, Animal Kingdom offers the absolute best in architecture and immersion. Have you walked around Africa? Asia? You'd swear you were there if it weren't for the concession stands (or maybe they help?).
I can't wait to venture back there and really just explore. Maybe I'll have to make a solo run... ;)

...
OK, here's the real deal ---
I'm going to walk you all through this.
If ya want to take notes, now's the time to gather
up some old scrap paper and find a no# 2 pencil.
This of course takes place in the mud cobra field.
Currently, the mud is concrete hard, maybe even
way harder than that. Notice the trench made by
the tractor, there's a lot of them here and have
to be delt with using extreme caution, or you
will end-up just like we have right here ...;-0
So, what happened you might be asking ?
Now, I want you to take 2, maybe 3 long steps
straight back, now turn 90 degrees to your rt
& there before your eyes will be a real large
palm oil tree, like quite large. This means
there will be large bows hanging down.
Most which have a large stalk as big
around as a grown mans wrist and
do great damage to any forward
motion, impeding your plans.
At this point I want you to envision 15/20 seconds
before we arrived in this spot. I'm doing my best
2 stay as close to the tree, avoid the large bows
while at the same time, balancing on the edge
of the concrete trench.... Still with me here ?
And for a door prize there's a number of
smaller bows aimed straight at my face.
Well, it all happened like an explosion
as the small bows racked my face, an
the big bows hooked the upper right
corner of the canopy whipping our
backend around into the trench
followed by a now unstable
front tire also sliding into
the deep trench. This
my friends, sucks ;-(
Try as I might, there was no rocking this
400++ pounds of hot metal out of here.
And, it is now getting really hot out too.
There's now only one option left and
that is to retrieve the come-a-long.
Took some doing cuz once we were
out of this trench we shot straight
over into the other trench. What
now you are asking ? Well, we
just kept doing what we do
until the rig is free and we
are on our way, out of
this precarious spot.
There's probably more I could add, but
at this point I think you have caught on.
Another day at the office ;-)

Problem Solving Using the Why Tree by xtremelean.us
* This presentation is on problem solving using the why tree and is designed to teach a standardized approach for your people at all levels of the organization. Good problem solving skills within your company will cause your business to thrive while making everyone's life easier in the process.
* While problem solving does not have to be difficult, there are many that like to make it sound that way.
* People are not born as natural problem solvers and you don't need a college degree to learn to be a good problem solver either.
* Good problem solving skills can be taught and that is what I am going to do. My goal is to teach you a simple standardized approach that can be used in your business or personal life. You can also use this training video to teach others at your business. When completed, you will fully understand and be ready to use the concepts taught here.
* When we become good at problem solving, we start eliminating the problems that cause our head to spin once and for all. Our life becomes much easier and we suddenly have more time and less frustration. You are probably watching this video because that is exactly the direction you want to go in your life.
* Let's first discuss what a problem is or is not.
* A problem is the difference between actual conditions and the desired conditions and you don't know how to solve it.
* Let's put this in simpler terms.
* Let's change desired condition with "Want" and change actual condition with "Have"
* So the difference between what we have and what we want is the problem.
* And it's only a problem if you don't already know what the solution is.
* Let me give you a simple illustration of what a problem is. Barney here wants a female companion, but he does not have one, and he doesn't know exactly what to do about it. That is Barneys problem. That seems pretty straightforward doesn't it?
* The biggest type of problem people face is when something suddenly goes wrong.
* Captain Jack here is flying 300 passengers across the continent when all of a sudden, the plane starts to go down.
* In this case, the pilot WANTS to have full control of the plane again.
* But what he has is a plane that is going down and he doesn't know what happened or what to do about it.
* Does the pilot have a problem? 100% affirmative.
* Everyone has problems in their life at one time or another, so we all have the responsibility and opportunity to solve problems many times in our lives. It is absolutely best when we solve a problem so it never ever returns again. When you solve problems this way, your life becomes easier.
* When it comes to problem solving, some people just start shooting from the hip. This can be a very costly, time consuming, and frustrating approach. Preferable to this would be to take some aim at our target. After all, if we take the time to aim carefully at our target we increase the chance of hitting the bulls eye.
* Let's use a hypothetical problem that everyone can relate to. You arrived to work late.
* By the way, always clearly define the problem in as few words as possible, while also making sure everyone can understand what the problem is.
* And the reason we arrived to work late is because our car would not start.
* Many people put a lot of emphasis on root cause analysis, which is finding out what exactly what caused the car not to start.
* This is a fish bone diagram which is another tool that can be used for determining the root cause of a problem.
* And while sometimes finding the root cause is important, finding the best solution that will prevent the problem from reoccurring is THE most important objective.
* In this case, let's say you were at the end of your ropes with this piece of junk anyway and had decided you were going to buy a new car.
* Do you really care what exactly caused your old car not to start? Not really.
* Will the new car be a proper solution to your problem and get you to work reliably for many years to come? Absolutely
* My point is, solutions are more important than causes and in my opinion, outweigh them greatly.
* All right, let's do a reality check. You have a crap car, you were late to work because it would not start, and you have no money to buy a new car.
* You now need to know what caused your car not to start so you will not be able to fix it.
* The Why Tree method is the focus of this presentation, but it relies on knowing the 5-Why root cause analysis method. The 5-Why method for determining root cause is one of the simplest methods to learn and to complete. You start with a clear problem statement, then ask why the problem happened and write the answer down. If that answer did not identify the root cause, continue asking why until it does.
* Let's go through an example.
* For example our problem is we woke up late.
* We would then ask "why did we wake up late?"
* The alarm did not go off.
* "why did the alarm not go off?"
* Because the time reset on the alarm clock?
* Why did the time reset on the alarm clock?
* Because the power went out.
* Why did the power go out?
* Because of the severe thunderstorms.
* Why were there severe thunderstorms?
* We don't know.
* Notice that solutions are out of our control when the power went out? We do not have control over the power or the weather. So the line of questioning should stop when we do not have any control over the cause.
* One of the problems with the 5-Why root cause analysis is it only allows for one line of questioning. Based on the answers you give, you can get off the trail to solutions very quickly.
* Let's back up and change the answer to "why did the time reset on the clock?" to:
* Because the clock lost power
* Then why did the clock lose power?
* Because the alarm clock did not have the backup battery installed.
* Why was the backup battery not installed?
* Because we did not have one at the time.
* Take notice that the answers you give will dramatically change the outcome. You must also ensure the answers are accurate or once again you will be on a wild goose chase.
* We now have a root cause that we have control over and an easy solution to the problem. Having a backup battery installed in the alarm clock allows it to continue working in the event of a power outage. This solution is very simple and effective with a very low cost. It is easy to implement and has no negative consequences.
* While you now have a good solution to this problem, let's not forget that batteries do not last forever. You will need to check the batteries in the alarm clock on a regular basis if your want to eliminate this particular problem forever.
* Even though this approach is called 5-Why, 5 is just a rule of thumb for the number of times to ask why. It could be more or less though depending on the problem. When you no longer know the answer to the question that is a good place to stop. Speculation will rarely serve you well.
* While the 5-Why root cause analysis is a good and simple tool, I find the Why Tree diagram is a much better tool for brainstorming multiple possible causes of the problem. Discovering multiple causes of the problem allows you to develop multiple potential solutions to the problem. You would use the same 5-why approach but the tree diagram allows you to list multiple potential causes to each why. There is no limit to the size or shape of your Why Tree. Let me share an example of using the Why Tree.
* Let's use a real life problem I experienced recently. We put in a new lawn at our house and it wasn't very long before I noticed the grass was dying is some areas. I was upset and wanted to know why and the solution to the problem.
* It did not take long to put two and two together. The dog peeing on the lawn was causing it to die. The reason I want to share this example with you is to show you there are almost always several solutions to any given problem.
* While you may have multiple solutions for any given problem, and even though all of the solutions may solve the problem, there are costs or consequences to consider. Your job in good problem solving is to come up with:
A: The simplest
B: Most effective solution
C: At the lowest cost
D: That is the easiest to implement
E: With no negative consequences.
* The description of my problem is very simple "my grass is dying in small sections". So the 1st question why is the grass dying? Because the dog is peeing on the grass, why is the dog peeing on the grass? Because he is not trained to go elsewhere.
* I must confess, when I first saw that the dog peeing on the grass was causing it to die, I jumped to my first solution and that was a well planned hunting accident where the dog had more to worry about than the bird.
* But that solution would end up in divorce court. Although this solution would be simple, 100% effective, relatively low cost, and easy to implement, the consequences of this solution would make it a very poor choice.
* Then I thought how can I train the dog to stay off the nice new lawn?
* Someone suggested setting up an electric fence and I thought that would be a perfect solution. So off to the pet store I went only to discover these fences aren't cheap. Although this solution would be very effective and there were no negative consequences I could foresee, the cost was high and not simple to install or implement. Still the best solution I have found up to this point.
* I realized I needed to dig deeper to find more causes and therefore more solutions so I asked myself again, "why is the grass dying?"
* Because of the dog pee. I don't have any control over the natural functions of the dog so there is no solution there.
* Why is the dog pee causing the grass to die?
* I had to do some research on the internet, but quickly found my answer. Because dog pee has high levels of Nitrogen.
* Why are there high levels of Nitrogen in the dog pee?
* I also found the answers on the internet that it could be related to their diet
* Or they are not drinking enough water.
* I investigated changing the diet for my dog and found that over the lifetime of the dog, you will probably spend more than the electric fence. I also found out there are health risks for the dog with this diet. I found this solution to be simple, but the effectiveness in my mind was questionable. The cost was again high and the negative consequences of the health of the dog were not exciting. Bordering again on the divorce court thing.
* The dog not drinking enough water was another cause looking for a solution.
* I also thought I could probably teach my dog to read before I could get her to drink more water. So while this solution may be effective at a low cost with no negative consequences, I did not feel this would be simple or easy to implement at all.
* We might not be able to get the dog to drink more water which would dilute the Nitrogen, but maybe we can dilute the Nitrogen another way. What if we adjusted the sprinklers to come on more frequently in the area the dog goes potty? Here is an extremely simple and easy to implement solution that should be totally effective with no cost or negative consequences. Guess what solution I chose to solve my problem?
* There is a simple way to cross check the solution you have chosen. Just read your Why Tree in reverse order and substitute the question why with the word because. Let's try this.
* We are going to adjust the sprinklers to come on more frequently because we need to dilute the high levels of Nitrogen because of the dog pee, because the dog pee is killing the grass. Make sure when you do the cross check that your solution makes sense all the way down the line.
* Root cause analysis is definitely a team effort. After all, two heads are better than one. Choose your team members wisely and keep the team size to a manageable group however.
* Don't worry about the repeatability of this problem solving process. In my mind, problem solving is a very creative process.
* If you give the same problem to three different teams, depending on the creativity of each team, you will most likely end up with three different solutions to the problem. This is absolutely normal. Just be creative and focus on the best solution to the problem you face and implement it.
* If this process does not give you a solution that is clearly correct, you may need to use a different problem solving tool.
* In the future, I will be posting videos on all of the problem solving tools including, Pareto charts, flow charts, fishbone diagrams, brainstorming tools, mind maps, failure mode and effects analysis, and TRIZ. So stay tuned.
