After the dissolution of the Landstände in the early 19th century the building was used as a post office - hence the name "Alte Post".

"Alter Peter" (Old Peter) is the popular name for the steeple of the St. Peter church.
Photo taken from the Rindermarkt.
St. Peter is the oldest documented church in downtown Munich, first mentioned in a document dated around 1225/26. It was expanded several times, went from Romanesque style through late Gothic style to its final appearance in late Baroque style.
The church was nearly completely destroyed during the allied bombing raid of February 25th 1945. The reconstruction after World War II was only completed in 2000 with the final reconstruction of the ceiling frescoes.

Yes that is the same fence from which the wet web bung in the prior photo - a two-fer.
From Cornell:
The sweet, lazy whistles of Eastern Meadowlarks waft over summer grasslands and farms in eastern North America. The birds themselves sing from fenceposts and telephone lines or stalk through the grasses, probing the ground for insects with their long, sharp bills. On the ground, their brown-and-black dappled upperparts camouflage the birds among dirt clods and dry grasses. But up on perches, they reveal bright-yellow underparts and a striking black chevron across the chest.
Lakeside Ranch Stormwater Treatment Area (STA)
Located in western Martin County, the Lakeside Ranch Stormwater Treatment Area plays a crucial role in the restoration of the Lake Okeechobee watershed by improving the quality of water flowing into the lake. The wetlands treats stormwater runoff from the Taylor Creek and Nubbin Slough basins to the north before that runoff enters Lake Okeechobee.
Approximately 2,700 acres of Lakeside Ranch is open to the public to enjoy hiking, bicycling, wildlife viewing or simply relaxing. The recreation area is surrounded by levees that are accessible to visitors on foot or on bicycle.

Also known as Rüppell's Griffon Vulture, this species was given an IUCN status of critically endangered in 2015. Only eight years prior, in 2007, its IUCN status was "near threatened", and it was subsequently degraded down through "vulnerable" and "endangered" to its current status. The BirdLife International Fact Sheet for this species estimates that there are only 22,000 individuals left in the world. The biggests threats are poisoning (a technique used to kill predators of livestock, this species and other carrion feeders are also impacted), medicinal purposes, and habitat loss. This species is also considered the highest flying bird in the world. There is documented collision with a commercial airliner at 37,000 feet (the bird was sucked into the engine, killing the bird; the engine was shut down and the plane landed safely).

According to the saying 'Red sky in the morning Shepherds warning' it should have rained later in the day but it ended up as just another hot and sunny day with not a drop of rain to be had! The actual Sunrise was disappointing as it burnt all the colour in the clouds off as it came up!

A few months ago, I had an opportunity to visit the stunning Trona Pinnacles for a Milkyway shoot. Since I have had bad experiences getting there on time, I was careful to leave early, and we managed to get there hours before the golden hour. I spent a lot of time driving around the pinnacle formations to find suitable compositions and potential viewpoints with the light direction. Usually, I prefer new moon days for Milkyway shoots, but a waxing gibbous was the best I could manage due to unforeseen family events.
I took a few sunset images of the pinnacles and settled in at a location for the stars, but while waiting, I noticed a warm glow on some distant pinnacles. I was well past sunset and almost the beginning of the blue hour, so I was a bit confused about the light source, but then we noticed the moon in the sky with a similar glow. I believe the sunlight reflected by the moon's surface caused the gentle glow. I tried a few photos here focusing on the pinnacles in the center of the frame, but only when I framed them with these massive pinnacles near me did the image come alive. I think the transition from warm colors to cool blue makes this image. It was a spectacular scene to witness.
This is a re-do of a prior photograph from years ago in Washington, D.C. of the roof over the courtyard at the Smithsonian American Art Museum. It was done in Picasa, the now discontinued software made available for years by Google. Hope you enjoy the pattern and colors.

Last Sunday prior to going to Chatsworth for the firework display, i went for a walk with Helen around Derwent Reservoir. There was little breeze and therefore reservoir was still casting the reflections of all the colours from the trees. Personally i think Derwent is my favourite place to be in Autumn

Actually no weather to take pictures in the Värmland's snowy woods in Sweden. Too cloudy, dark and too much snowfall. And then it became foggy, too. And suddenly the mood became a kind of mystical. It was worth just a trial.
