Hello all! I’m excited to share with you my first tutorial on the new version of the Design Cuts site.
It looks like a main theme within the modern creative design bundle is space. After Pam’s great ’80s, candy-flavored version, we will focus on a more contemporary and Sci-Fi vibe for our piece.
We will use the bundle’s content to create a poster with a slightly mysterious vibe for Galaxy Machine, a fictional up-coming movie directed by Duncan Jones, and starring Sam Rockwell, Sigourney Weaver, Bruce Willis, Sandra Bullock, Ethan Hawke, and Natalie Portman.
Fresh and stylish flyer for Simone Donath, Mainburg. She advises people on their diets, particularly diabetics or those overweight.

Calgary Script was mostly inspired by a brush script on a Welcome To Calgary sign in, you guessed it, Calgary. Though now, after it’s finished, I can easily tell the influence is evident of all the books
on American sign painting I have absorbed over the years.
The overall effect of the font is similar to something that Fonzied itself, big hair and leather jackets and all, out of the early 1980s, but the feeling really dates back to a few decades earlier. Heady caps and free-flowing lowercase make for a speedy, determined, and instinctively organized buffalo herd of a typeface. This is a packaging font with a true supermarket sign spin, with OpenType features including ligatures, alternates, and ordinals specifically made to follow numbers.

We set Hosted Solution apart from the competition by developing a complete brand Identity system, positioning strategy, marketing collateral, direct mail and a fresh new dynamic web site that communicates swift, agile, dependable and state of the art. FA also created a set of corporate guidelines that would allow marketing personnel to refer to the correct usage of the new Hosted Solution logo along with typographic guidelines for newsletters and other marketing materials was set in place for them. FA researched, designed, and implemented the company into the market space in four short months, which was before schedule. Since the rebrand, Hosted Solutions has grown into a $200 million company servicing some of the biggest fortune 500 companies such as Bank of America and Skanska North America.

This post comes to you from the great American state of New York, with our artist being none other than internationally known Creative Director, Gui Borchert. Chances are, if you’ve picked up a magazine in the passed few years, you’ve seen some of his ads for big names such as Coke, Dell, Nike and Puma. Gui has an incredible credentials list that includes speaking in conferences around the world, judging international competitions, having his work showcased at art galleries in places like Brazil and New York City, being internationally published in books and magazines, and winning a ton of awards just to top it all off. This is realized by analyzing a detailed source of imagery (captured while exploring the streets on foot) taken from textual samples residing within the prescribed Whittier boundaries.

FA designed a brochure that would showcase the diverse work of Art Company that would also be dynamic, photo rich, and self mailed to easily show work to new clients.

FA's challenge was to create an identity for the 2008 event that clearly expressed its heritage, spirit, and passion for art in an authentic way. The identity needed to be positioned so that it would enable the event to resonate with multiple demographics. FA examined all brand communication elements, including the name, environment, and promotions. Focusing on the brand essence of the event, lineage, and tradition, FA created a new visual vocabulary for Artsplosure 2008.
