How Solar Works:
There are no moving parts in solar cells to degrade performance over time. Solar cells are semiconductors. The sun’s rays, even on cloudy days, are absorbed by silicon material in the cells. This energy activates electrons allowing them to move freely – creating usable energy.
The solar electrical system is connected to the utility grid through a standard meter. It tracks net power usage and spins backward (producing credits) when production exceeds usage.
The inverter takes the DC current created by the solar panels and electronically converts it to AC power for use throughout your home.
If you finance your system, your monthly payment may be completely covered by the reduction in your electricity bill. From day one, a Marin Solar system adds value to your home, ensuring your decision makes financial sense both today and in the future. Thistle may not be a weed to some or it may, but it is a beautiful flower and has many childhood memories of sticking to you and having sticky thistle pod fights with your siblings or friends, it does for me :) Here is my entry to this week's @spoonflower challenge called "In the weeds" - my entry Thistle Magic reflects these memories. Hope you enjoy, thank you for voting if you do. This design and coordinates are available at my Spoonflower store now on fabric, wallpaper and other home décor products :) xo
*Finished Project
Goal: Create a logo and event promo poster resembling being rescued from darkness and transferred into light.
Audience: Youth of our church and other churches within our network.
Direction: Creative freedom was given for this project. We wanted to create an icon or symbol for TRANSFER and kept coming back to this "cheveron" shape in a cube that has been taken out. The emphasis was to symbolize how we were once in bondage toward sin and darkness but Christ delivered us into His kingdom of light and has given us a new life.
Project: Youth conference at my church.
Other important info: Inspired by Scott Hansen.

Some Type of Wonderful is a global typographic initiative conceived by Lifelounge in 2008 to showcase the best of the world’s creative talent across the realms of art, design and illustration. Each year 12 artists are selected for their unique approach to the craft and are given an individual typographic design brief based around a month of the year. The artist is asked to interpret the brief in a way that typographically represents what that month specifically means to them. How abstract or literal the interpretation is completely up to them.
Each piece is made available as a series of museum grade limited edition Giclée prints on high quality cotton rag art paper and is accompanied by a signed and editioned STW Certificate of Authenticity by the artist. The pieces are made available through a series of exhibitions this October and available now through Some Type Of Wonderful Store on Lifelounge.
This year STW commissioned me to do the month August and this is the result.
Thanks to the incredible and talented Luke lucas for let me be part of this amazing project.

So, these are my first run of business cards. I printed two versions - one is pink and the other is distressed black on white.
I am actually going with a third and final version that I will be posting soon, but I wanted to get these up as well. I've been dying to make pink business cards, and I finally did it :)

Small gatefold brochure for dvGreen, a sustainable event production company. Measures 3.50 x 4.25 inches and fits in your pocket (admit it...every vertical tri-fold brochure you pick up gets folded in half and dropped in your bag or coat pocket). Also, we based our sizing decision on the long standing theory that "small equals cute" (see: puppies, kittens). Some still had doubts, so I added the smiling snail just in case.
