I recently rediscovered the junior novelization of Barbie's Princess and the Pauper and thought I'd scan the pictures. I think they're beautiful and real unique because they're actual dolls set up in a studio instead of illustrations like they are now.
Why did they make Julian BLAINE?! It's supposed to be Barbie as the two protagonists and Ken as the two "princes" Oh well. Oh yeah, and his hair cut at the side looks dumb. x___x
Rapunzel scans are next to come as soon as I can get it at my library. :)

Hasbro Elena came new from the box with her hair done in the lamest and most boring hairstyle ever so I gave her her signature curly ponytail and bangs, while Mattel Belle was a flea market rescue who had a rough life. Her previous owner I believe gave her a haircut but that didn’t stop her from looking beautiful again. What do you think? I’m in love with how they came out!

I normally don't do a lot of princess pictures at Disneyland (except for Princess Jasmine in the Aladdin show). The princess are Ron's area of expertise. That said when a Princess walks up to where you are standing and shews the crowd out of the way from in front of you giving you a clear line of sight to her what can you do but fill up a memory card.
This is close to straight out of the camera. Just a few minor adjustments in LR and it is almost uncropped.
This beautiful bird is another native Australian parrot of extraordinary soft pastel colours - the Princess Parrot.
The Princess Parrot or Alexandra's Parrot, Polytelis alexandrae, is an Australian bird of the parrot family Psittacidae. It is a medium sized parrot, 34 to 46 centimetres long (the males are larger). The plumage is mostly green with a pink throat, bluish crown and rump and bright green shoulders. The tail is long and narrow.
This species is nomadic, arriving in small groups to breed and then disappearing. It is one of Australia’s least known parakeets because it is so elusive, even though it is spread across the interior of Australia. It inhabits arid woodland and scrub with spinifex, eucalypts, acacias, etc. 4 to 6 rounded white eggs are laid in a hollow in a eucalypt or desert oak. They are becoming quite rare in the wild and their numbers seem to be dwindling. They feed on the seeds of grasses and shrubs. They are unusual among parrots in engaging in mobbing behaviour against predators.
The name "Princess Parakeet" was given in honour of Princess Alexandra of Denmark, who later married the Prince of Wales Edward VII and eventually became the Queen of England. Other names for the species include: Queen Alexandra Parrot (or Parakeet), Princess of Wales Parakeet, Rose-throated Parakeet and Spinifex Parrot.

I pre-ordered this doll back in the summer.....she arrived last week.
She is the first Martha Boers collaboration doll with RRFF
Well, as Martha Boers is my all-time favourite doll artist and I find all she does just SO inspirational, it was a no-brainer for me to order the doll
And I am thrilled that I did

I did a little tone mapping (fake HDR) on this picture... Muted the colors a bit. The original photo was shot with two strobes at f11 at 27mm. Best to view on black.
Chocolate/Vanilla Marble Cake.
I did the superman cake back in February for Isabella's Mum, and she was so impressed with the look and the taste of the cake that she asked me to do this cake for her daughter turning 3! I was just asked to put pink on it, and then just do whatever else I like. I love these colours together.
Another entry for the CCC, this time in the Vignette Category.
Working in tan was a nice change from my usual bley or reddish brown buildings.

Princess Amaradevi is a mosaic sculpture that stands outside of the Stepping Stone Theater in St. Paul, MN and greets young actors as they walk into the building. Amaradevi is a Cambodian folktale character who symbolizes honesty and courage. She was made by youth participants of the COMPAS ‘ArtsWork’ program in 2007 and donated by artist Sharra Frank - that's cool!

Princess vine or Curtain Ivy belongs to Vitaceae (Grapevine family). It is an evergreen perennial vine that is native to Florida, south Texas, Mexico south to Central America and Caribbean. This vine occurs in brushy areas and rainforests, and produces a dense mantle that covers other vegetation. Mature stems have swollen nodes and thin peeling bark. Long reddish aerial roots droop down from the axils. Leaves are broadly rounded or ovate, and entire. Yellow-green flowers are seen in the cymes that extend from the axils.
