PDQ, installing/running Mac OS X Server 10.0

We were spring cleaning our lab and I chanced upon this sweet box! It was from a time when the Apple logo had colors. By the way, anyone know why the Apple logo has a byte taken out of it? ^^. I was pretty excited when I found this. Does it even still work?

Powerbook G4 and 20" Cinema Display

A classic from '03 (stating this up front just in case someone claims this is old news, since, you know, it is). The baked PowerBook. A lady brought it in to the repair shop I worked at claiming she stuck the machine in the oven for 20 minutes to dry it off after she spilled water on it. It still worked.

The display was obviously warped, and the keys melted, but pretty much everything else worked. An external display worked as expected. Airport, USB, FW, and optical drive worked as well.

This is a screen capture of the desktop on my 1.67ghz Powerbook G4.

So, the Bose speakers are nice, and I have an old SGI box to the right of this, but the point of this picture is to point out my titanium powerbook. Did you notice something off about this picture? Or maybe everybody has scraped off the case paint by now? So much of mine had come off that I scraped the rest off... with my fingernails. Except for two sections, each about one inch long, where I needed a coin because there actually appeared to have been some glue. I think whoever had the brilliant idea for the case paint should be identified. I don't think he should be fired, or shot, or anything, but he deserves to be publicly ridiculed by the blogging community.

My loving dog decided to stretch out his back paws over top of my laptop. His nails were at the perfect angle to rip off two of the keys on my keyboard. Whoops! Good thing I adore him. The keys still work, just without the actual key part of them. Oh well.

Powerbook 867mhz, 640mb ram, 60gb hdd. Superdrive, bluetooth, Airport Extreme. My old baby.

Took apart my hosed PowerBook to try and liberate my harddrive. Operation PowerBook was successful. I was able to get my data back. The computer? Well, that's another story. It reminds me of a landscape.

Glowing power lead for my PowerBook G4. You gotta love the little details on Apple products!

This is me on my couch with my beloved powerbook (show me someone who doesnt love it ;). The image was captured using a olympus camedia c-50 zoom and edited in photoshop to achieve the high contrast. It was meant as an exercise, to get the manual controls of my camera working perfectly, but it turned out so good that i decided to post it here ;).

On my first day of work I had to load a bunch of software onto these two computers. The full Adobe Creative Suite and Final Cut Studio went o the MacBook Pro, and the Creative Suite went on the Power Book. I am looking forward to using these on some interesting projects in the future.

I'm not sure if this is a Powerbook, it's absolutely destroyed

The Powerbook is going to my mum, so I'm going to be briefly without laptop.

I got two PowerBook 2400c now - one Japanese and one American. The Japanese PowerBook is running fine but the American is not.

Both of them are running a 603e 180MHz Processor, 80MB RAM and 1.3GB HD.

I was bored and keep on pressing the Power Management Reset button on the American but it still shows the Green Light Of Death, so I closed the lid (hardly) and it chimes... then booted!

Um, don't know why it crashed after playing for awhile and it sleeps again.
