This is my brother's previous Apple PowerBook 15''.
He sold it to one of his friend.
This guy dropped it in the concertina vestibule of a tram.
Here is the result.
It still works and the guy still uses it.
After a few years of solid service, I'm parting with my trusty PowerBook. It's done a great job as my main computer for work and play; it handles most everything with ease.
As for condition, it's in okay shape, There's some pitting on the palmrest and a ding near the power socket, but nothing that affects day-to-day function.
Get in touch if you're interested in buying it!
1.5Ghz G4 PowerPC
1GB RAM
Superdrive (DVD/CD Burner)
15" Display
New Battery
Timbuk2 Case
Leopard Install Disc

Note to iFixit: I had to download the instructions to install the casing. Which is fine, but I sort of expected the instructions to be included.
We were spring cleaning our lab and I chanced upon this sweet box! It was from a time when the Apple logo had colors. By the way, anyone know why the Apple logo has a byte taken out of it? ^^. I was pretty excited when I found this. Does it even still work?

Ubuntu, a linux interface loaded on my PowerBook G4 laptop. Now when I boot I am offered the opportunity to boot OSX, Linux, or a CD/DVD. Using linux expands the abilities of my Mac and gives me something new to learn. It offers me the opportunity to use great software without worrying about breaching copyright. Never get a days work done,
Just lying in the noon-day sun
un lying in the hammock we bought in Merida, Mexico and have (finally) got around to hanging up in our garden
This is what drives the LEDs in the cable (green/yellow). I think it's entirely self-contained, based on current draw into the CPU, with no control by the CPU.
LEDs are on the other face.
I wonder what caused the circuit change from old to new.
From the archives, here is my 2003/4 Mac set up. The out going Apple Macintosh Performa 450, the incoming Apple PowerBook 12" 1GHz and 512MB RAM with Airport, BT and SuperDrive. There is also a 20GB iPod, BT Mouse, BT Keyboard, AppleWorks and Final Cut Express.
The PowerBook 145. It was working but I don't know why.. the screen remain dark after wake up from sleep. So I restart it but it remain black! What happened...
the camera is broken now. The iPod is broken now. The PowerBook is sold. The paperwork still needs to be done. My guitar still needs tuning. The actionsampler still works! So does the Nikkor 35-105 3.5-4.5 - of course.
Latest desktop, found on flickr, of the Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights taken from space.

Can't remember where I found the image, will look in my history files.
The desktop on my new 15" HD-DL PowerBook. even 1440x950 isnt enough room for me, but the 17" PBs are just way too big to be portable, so im stuck with a small desktop and massive window shading and expose abuse.
this is the dirty version, clean version here.
too much crap in here to list. any questions just ask.
Instead of sitting at home smoking, I have gone out to the smoothie bar here that has free wireless, to get some work done. I say "free" but I just spent $8.01 on a smoothie and a bag of soy crisps.

2009.01.06 - day 56
PC and I finally moved my desk into her place. i've been working on her dining table and cluttering it up with my card reader, cards, cameras, remotes, lenses, work laptop etc. i'm relieved to have my workspace over here. now i can clutter it up with all my crap.
note to PC...the macs are taking over.
my sweat is eating into my powerbook. it's a common problem, apparently, and it's doing my head in.
i got it off my chest elsewhere on flickr.
any suggestions as to warranty cover?
