He just stood there like that, till I took the camera off my eyes. Then I was asked whether I could show the photo to him. Obviously I cound't do that with the F100. Not sure whether I felt good or bad back then.

This guy sure is sticking out his chest and giving his best posture - probably trying to impress the ladies.
The award for "Best Posture in a Fly" goes to....the Quadrate Snipe Fly, Chrysopilus quadratus, this one from Wyandotte County Lake Park, Kansas, USA, on June 10, 2021.
I’m not saying the Volcano Hummingbird has something to prove, but when you’re three inches tall and built like a glittery cough drop, posturing is part of the job. I photographed this one in Costa Rica, perched on the edge of a leaf like he was expecting a standing ovation. You can see his tiny feet clenched around the edge like it’s the last lifeboat off the Titanic. That grip? Pure attitude. If hummingbirds had eyebrows, his would be arched.
They live in high-altitude, misty mountain slopes near—you guessed it—volcanoes. It’s cool, damp, and fiercely competitive up there. Every flower is guarded like it holds the deed to the rainforest. And the birds that survive? Well, they don’t hover. They vibrate. They zip around like flying thumbtacks.
Despite looking like a Christmas ornament with anxiety issues, the Volcano Hummingbird is not shy. It’ll chase off anything that gets too close—other hummingbirds, butterflies, light breezes. I once saw one harass a leaf for fluttering wrong.
But on this particular morning, he held still. Just long enough for the camera to catch the glint in his throat, the steely little stare, and those vice-grip toes that say, “This leaf is mine!”
Too small to scare, too fast to catch,
He claims his leaf and guards his patch.

"Crudely defined, I'm just a poser lost
Impersonations of what a man should be
And, oh, of how a man should feel
I've tried for seemingly, now my entire life to play a part
All posture aside, I pray for all those versions of myself I've tried to be
For though they may seem obvious to you
I know that you could see through them all
They were always real to me"

Had a fab time at the Big Night Out at Pink Punters with Natalee. Chatted to lots of lovely people and danced till my feet dropped off- at least that is what it felt like at 3am! Ooh, and got lots of comments about my shoes and dress, which is always nice.
Must remember not to use flash next time in these situations :)

I simply loved that the people in this composition were balanced in their postures so well. The two centre figures in almost identical poses and they are bookended by two men in identical poses. "Odissi is traditionally a dance-drama genre of performance art, where the artist(s) and musicians play out a mythical story, a spiritual message or devotional poem from the Hindu texts, using symbolic costumes, body movement, abhinaya (expressions) and mudras (gestures and sign language) set out in ancient Sanskrit literature. Odissi is learnt and performed as a composite of basic dance motif called the Bhangas (symmetric body bends, stance). It involves lower (footwork), mid (torso) and upper (hand and head) as three sources of perfecting expression and audience engagement with geometric symmetry and rhythmic musical resonance.["
美術館の周辺は美しい公園になっています。そんな中を歩く姿勢の良いご婦人を発見。
The area around the museum is a beautiful park. I found a woman with a good posture walking in the park.
