There were at least 4 LRP's at College Lake yesterday posturing and hopefully pairing up with some quite impressive displaying taking place both in flight and on the terra firma :-)

White egret posturing for food competition with heron

We visited my parents this weekend. We took one morning to see the wildlife at Brazos Bend State Park. This guy was growling...perhaps warning the other alligators that this was his spot.

Next time you're on a bus, train or tube, take a look at the people around you and see if you can spot anyone leaning into their phone like this.

I'm on a mission to complete the 52 week photo challenge, to capture at least 1 photo a week for a whole year!

After an extended period with the Scavrats, I really wanted to return to the Revenant Sisterhood. Black is my happy place, and the Sisterhood really is the focus of Dark Legacies.

This build took about 6 weeks to finish, including wait time for BrickLink orders. Serendipitously, one of those orders never arrived, which is how I ended up with the one grey/red highlighted “knee”. As is often the case, being forced to improvise often turns out a better result.

My goal this time around was a mech that could both walk and drive, but that was still vaguely plausible/realistic from a military perspective. I spent a lot of time experimenting with different tire and track designs until I landed with this. Crucially, the disc joints had to have the clearance to compress fully so that the Redeemer could drive in a fully supported squat posture.

Generally speaking, as an old school #battletech fan, many of my builds are also influenced by walker-style mechs like the Locust and Marauder. This time around though, you might see some Rifleman influence in the side torsos and main guns.

Images today are from the back yard.

This male Red-bellied Woodpecker is posturing, trying to keep away other birds as they try to approach this seedcake feeder.

Seems some birds are more willing to share than others, but I guess when the seedcake is extra nutty and yummy you can't really blame them for wanting it all to themselves! :-)

A mudra is a bodily posture or symbolic gesture. In Buddhist iconography every buddha is depicted with a characteristic gesture of the hands. Such gestures correspond to natural gestures (of teaching, protecting, and so on) and also to certain aspects of the Buddhist teaching or of the particular buddha depicted.

Mudra depicted above:

The left hand rests palm upward in the lap; the right hand, hanging over the knee, palm inward, points to the earth. Sometimes the left hand holds a begging bowl. This is the gesture with which the Buddha summoned the Earth as witness to his realization of buddhahood. It is considered a gesture of unshakability; thus Akshobhya (the Unshakable) is usually depicted with this mudra.

JJ (my blue merle Australian Shepherd male on the left) and Roxy (my black-tri Australian Shepherd female) on the right) playing and doing a bit of fierce posturing...all in fun, these two are inseparable and best of buddies.

Flickr acting up again. I will try and see all your photos when I can. Having a terrible time just trying to get into Flickr today. It keeps locking up whenever I try to change pages or do anything. Hope it settles down soon.

This pic is also starting to look like my reaction to Flickr lately.....
