I assume that this spitting spider was feeling the way ahead with its front feet. Strange how low it gets its body to the ground. At other times it walked tall.

this boy looks like a work of art, too precious to be walking about in the city.

I wanted to capture the wonderful articulation of the tail of a dragonfly. I can only imagine it in terms of the lobster-ed armor that knights wore that covered their hands, forming gauntlets. These small segments all hinging together to create a unique articulation for this small animal.

Beneath it, if you're wondering, is a coil of solder.

I've posted many photos of alligators here lately and people always seem to be concerned about an attack. This is photo is an indication of a treat posture. I am not an expert, but the back on this alligator is being pushed up and out of the water by the gator and he is not floating low in the water as they normally do. He's puffing himself up to seem larger and so was demonstrating a territorial threat. He in NO WAY MADE A THREATENING toward me but was telling me to keep my distance. I believe that this is because mating season is just around the corner and the battle will be on between the large males and this one is large. A few weeks ago he was laying next to another 12 foot male on the bank sunning together, but you'll not find that happening now. Hope I was clear.

I'm sure this can't be good for the spine.
