The images and collaged text are from Ten Two Studios on a painted background of canvas paper.
They discovered gold here in 1860 and 20 years later, silver. Now it is a ghost town. This residence appears to be almost falling down. But someone still uses it, judging from furnishings inside.

This Deutsch Süd-Wes Afrika trading card was made by the German chocolate maker Hartwig & Vogel, Dresden. It specifically named and included a "Hottentot Hut" with "Herero Mother and Child" placed to the front of the "Windhoek Castle". Compare the scene to the reality of the "Windhoek Castle" with the German concentration death camp shown to the card upper right.

The message was:
JUDY, JUDY, JUDY...
Tell that other woman that is there with you that Mitch is safely home and the gardener is lonely. See if she can bring home a starter plant (3" or 4") of one of these "Travelers Palm" (revenela-madagascarinesis ).
You know.. like the one that is down by your pool..?
..Cary Grant..
Note: Good thing I don't have to make a living doing these things...
Postcard view one of the villages on the Somme battlefield , it would be nice to see a modern comparison of the same view, can you help?
