I usually don't post my phone shots, in fact, I have not posted any phone shots in 14-15 years on Flickr.
I don't have significant shots from my usual camera during my recent trip, maybe I need a wide-angle lens!
. . . Who would NOT like to vacation in the beautiful northern LP of Michigan if this is what you get to see every day? My parents rented a cottage here when I was 4 years old, but sadly I do not remember it!
Have a great week Facebook, Flickr, and 500px friends!
Aquilegia vulgaris knows as columbine (also commonly called European crowfoot and granny's bonnet) is native to Europe. It has escaped gardens and naturalized in parts of eastern North America. It is a bushy, clump-forming perennial that typically grows in a mound of thin, branching, leafy stems to 1.5-3' tall. It is noted for its spring bloom (April-May in St. Louis) of blue to violet flowers with spreading sepals and short-hooked spurs. Biternate, medium green, basal leaves are glabrous above and glaucous beneath. Upper leaves are divided into lobed leaflets that are usually three-lobed at the tips. Many different cultivars are available in commerce, featuring flowers that are single or double and short-spurred or spurless, in a variety of colors ranging from blue to violet to white to pink to red.
Genus name comes from the Latin word for eagle in reference to the flower’s five spurs which purportedly resemble an eagle’s talon.
Specific epithet comes from the Latin word meaning common.
Columbine comes from the Latin word columba meaning dove-like. Common name of granny's bonnet is in reference to the spreading bonnet-like appearance of the flower petals.
'William Guiness' is a very short-spurred columbine most noted for its large, nodding, bicolored flowers which are dark purple with contrasting white on the upper half of the sepals. It is a bushy, clump-forming perennial that typically grows 24-30" tall. Blooms in spring. Biternate, almost fern-like, medium green foliage is somewhat suggestive of meadow rue (Thalictrum). 'William Guiness' is considered by some references to be synonymous with A. v. 'Magpie'.

Sem dúvida esta paisagem corre mundo- é sem dúvida uma das vistas sobre o rio Douro mais visitadas e sempre diferente seja pela luz do dia ou outro pormenor interessante.
A soft still-life photo of several old post cards on a desk along with old spectacles, a pen, paperclips, a coffee cup, a leather pouch with coins and a book.
Developed with Darktable 3.6.0.
Some reworked pictures from our trip to Iceland chasing Northern Lights. No luck with them. It was a fantastic visit anyway.

Your Possible Pasts (Waters) - Pink Floyd
They flutter behind you your possible pasts,
Some bright-eyed and crazy, some frightened and lost.
A warning to anyone still in command
[Cattle truck noises]
"Ranks! Fire!"
Of their possible future, to take care.
In derelict sidings the poppies entwine
With cattle trucks lying in wait for the next time.
Do you remember me? How we used to be?
Do you think we should be closer?
She stood in the doorway, the ghost of a smile
Haunting her face like a cheap hotel sign.
Her cold eyes imploring the men in their macs
For the gold in their bags or the knives in their backs.
Stepping up boldly one put out his hand.
He said, "I was just a child then, now I'm only a man."
Do you remember me? How we used to be?
Do you think we should be closer?
By the cold and religious we were taken in hand
Shown how to feel good and told to feel bad.
Tongue tied and terrified we learned how to pray
Now our feelings run deep and cold as the clay.
And strung out behind us the banners and flags
Of our possible pasts lie in tatters and rags.
Do you remember me? How we used to be?
Do you think we should be closer?
Having messed with this in Photomatix and Photoshop i have managed to make a perfectly decent coastal shot look like a heavily processed 70's postcard. Which is nice

There was no sunset to photograph tonight due to the windy and rainy weather covering most of Florida today.
I thought I'd brighten up the overcast day with a shot taken taken on Saturday at the Bayfest Festival. These colorful works of art are hand painted by Mark Burdette, a talented artist who had a booth set up at the festival. He hand paints (he literally paints with his hands) these seascape images on old distressed pieces of wood.

Thanks for looking. I appreciate feedback.
Robert edited this very cool 3-min film from the footage he shot while we were exploring the Olympic Peninsula a couple of weeks ago.

My attempt at creating a post card from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA.
It's a beautiful place Fort Lauderdale. Sandy beaches, cool ocean water, lovely beaches. Even better if you head to Lauderdale By The Sea
really neat place to see. If you should go there, be sure to stop at the Village Grill for breakfast. Great views and great atmosphere!
