The orange color of the autumn leaves out of the blue sky, is so impressive that I want to make a post card out of it.
I got a Bible that has been many years in my dad's family...since 1916... In it were several post cards...
A forgotten post card is a new greeting waiting to welcome guests to Stockholm Streets, Frogmore, Friday 27 Nov 12pm slt.
San Gimignano is a small walled medieval hill town in the province of Siena, Tuscany, north-central Italy. Known as the Town of Fine Towers, San Gimignano is famous for its medieval architecture, unique in the preservation of about a dozen of its tower houses, which, with its hilltop setting and encircling walls form "an unforgettable skyline".
Also great Pappardelle with Wild Boar Ragu....and beer.....and wine.....and pecorino....and YUM!
This scene might be familiar to some of you – it's the GR III version of the "synchronized couple" relaxing on the lawn in front of the main tropical greenhouse at the Botanical Garden in Berlin that I've posted for last Sliders Sunday ("Fun in the Sun", please see the second comment). Well, this one is a little different, it's not the GR version I'd taken from the same position and with the same point of view as the Lensbaby SOL 22 photo which I originally wanted to do either as a monochrome or as a slider for today. But I was never happy with any of the monochrome versions I've processed, because whatever I did, contrasty b&w, soft, sepia... when the colour was gone, all of the sunny lightness and summer ease was gone, too. I've also processed a vintage style colour version of that photo for today, but then stumbled upon this photo with the palm tree and bench (only half of it, but I still think it's a nice element in the image), and I liked that a little better, because it's the same scenery, but a completely different photo, and it also shows a little more of the beautiful ambience of the Botanical Garden. And while this photo actually works well in mono, too, I decided to keep it in colour. Maybe I'm not in "mono mood" right now ;)
DXO PhotoLab processing steps: sharpening and DeepPRIME denoising, a little sliding in ClearView Plus and Smart Lighting, and for the colour rendition (which I usually keep as is) I chose a Leica M10-D simulation, because it added such a nice, creamy-summerly turquoise touch to the blue sky. Next step: Analog Efex for a vintage post card look (Classical Camera preset 7, tweaked), and next.... As far as I recall I also did something in Color Efex (Skylight Filter, most likely), and I also did something in ON1, but since I processed all the different versions of the two GR photos at the same time, I probably got the further processing steps mixed up...
Happy Sliders Sunday, Everyone, stay safe and take care!
The 13th Century church of St Mary the Virgin dominates the village at the top of the hill. One of the highest points in the county of Kent with an elevation of 127 metres. This is the view towards Lamberhurst. The A262 passes through the village. Be sure to visit the bakers and tea rooms on the hill if you are passing through and take a look at the antique shop, duck pond and beautiful buildings.
Far on the right, you can see the lighthouse of Cabo de Sao Vicente, which is the extreme south Ouest of Portugal, at the vertical line of Ireland.
A card I got from a friend who was in Stockholm. Cilck on the picture to see all the images on the postcard.

Answers on a post card if you know where ? I do remember the day so well and another reason to hang on to photo's... When we were getting my gear from out of the car I sipped over but as is always the case I think more of my camera and its safety than my own. It didn't help that the more I tried to get to my feet the more impossible it became. My husband and I were in stitches because I was on sheet ice lightly covered with snow and just kept slithering around in the same spot. I eventually got on to my knees and crawled to where I could get to my feet. My mind just remembers the name Goyt Valley so I'm hoping my brain hasn't got completely to pot yet :) Sue ...
