And be sure to check by my other acount: www.flickr.com/photos_user.gne?path=&nsid=77145939%40..., to see what else I saw recently!!
Yes I'm back again.
However due to my main computer on which I edit my work being struck down with a big bad virus, this picture and all the others I am uploading, were Unedited but have now been replaced with Edited versions. So enjoy and Thanks for your patience and understanding.
I do still hate everything about this shit that is new Flickr and always will, but an inability to find another outlet for my work that is as easy for me to use as the Old BETTER Flickr was, has forced me back to Flickr, even though it goes against everything I believe in.
I don't generally have an opinion on my own work, I prefer to leave that to other people and so based on the positive responses to my work from the various friends I had made on Flickr prior to the changes I have decided to upload some more of my work as an experiment and to see what happens.
So make the most of me before they delete my acount: www.flickr.com/photos/69558134@N05/?details=1, to stop me complaining!!

One of my favourite shows is Outrageous Fortune, and one of the characters Pascalle West has an incredible storyline about being a kind of new age guru who tries to change everyone's lives. She gives everyone raw food and pep talks, so I decided to create motivational posters for her :D

Photography Scavenger Hunt Round 30
.
Yesterday marked the second day of album reveals for the Scavenger Hunt. I've been trying my hand at this "Game" for the past 8 years and have made many true friends through "The Hunt".
.
The First two albums that were reveled were "Hope" and "Positive Space". Participates are allowed and encouraged to interpret the word in any way they can imagine. Also any camera can be used from a cell phone to a high end DSLR. You can use Photoshop (or other editing tools) to enhance your image or you can just submit your shot as is.
.
For Positive Space, I shot power lines, since they carry electricity which I feel is a positive force in our world. Positive Space refers to the subject or areas of interest in an artwork.
.
Here are links to both full albums, in case you want to see all the submissions:

Enjoy!
And let me know if you have any questions about The Hunt or my images.

Cheers,

"Christian believers who have read to the

no matter how challenging things can be,
the ultimate outcome will be POSITIVE

Taken many years ago from our then family home at Marino, a south western beachside suburb of Adelaide.
From the archive, original on colour positive 35 mm film using a Milolta SRT 101 with a 400 mm lens (250 mm DSLR equivalent) scanned from the negative. Yes, we had heat waves even in the days of film.

Looking at the beach of Isla Catalina close the coast of La Romana / Dominican Republic
It was one of our last cruise days when we stopped in La Romana. We pre-booked a tour to Isla Catalina to enjoy the beach there and on our way there it was really amazing to see how turqoise the water was and how white the sand at the beach was. In fact, even after our two weeks cruise with many beaches seen, I am not sure if you can actually get used to its beauty. And when a sailing boat like this and such pretty clouds come into this scene, it was meant to be shot. (However, let's be honest: It's such a cliché but a positive one)

I've snapped the Scottish National Gallery of Modern art before, but on yesterday's walk I remembered it had Martin Creed's installation art above the pillars, an illuminated sign "Everything is going to be alright" (2008)
I've always liked that piece and its place right above the entrance to the galleries. But right now, with all that is going on, the message takes on different connotations. I suppose all art - the good art anyway - changes to reflect our personal and societal influences, so that's not surprising.
Nonetheless given the stress and strain we are all under right now, I thought I would take another photo of it and share it with you. Deep breath, my friends, "everything is going to be alright."
Alright, so there are a couple of things you can do with HC-110 to develop a film without any times. There's going 1+31 for six minutes flat, you can stand develop using 1+150. Instead I went with a 1+90 and 18 minute time. The negatives ended up being super foggy but there were images. And the results were okay considering everything.
The full review drops in September 2026!

a series I did for my Problem Solving Final that deals with my daily effort to stay positive about my body.
One positive trend coming out of the pandemic is how many new people have discovered spending time in the outdoors as a getaway. Camping numbers are way up! And while that means demand is up too, the outdoors are big and I’m sure there’s room for all of us. Getting back to nature has so many wonderful benefits. This shot is from one of my family’s COVID camping trips.
Llamas may be known for their soothing dispositions, but the alpacas were way more into the whole petting zoo idea.

BE HAPPY & be kind to one another <3
Though many of us consider wildfires to be adverse, the positive impact on the environment cannot be over looked. Among other things, wildfires result in removal of old growth that can choke out desirable trees. During a wildfire, nutrients are released into the soil by burning dead or decaying matter. In turn, the added nutrients results in productive new plant growth.
However, statistics show that four out of five wildfires are started by humans. I think it is best to let Mother Nature determine its own course in this matter.
The positive thinker sees the invisible, feels the intangible, and achieves the impossible.”

Michael and Albert (AJ) Patnode - Artist Statement
Father and son collaboration
Our photographic art is a kinetic motion study, from the results of interacting with my son A.J and his toys.
He was born severely handicapped much like a quadriplegic. On December 17,1998. Our family’s goal has always been to help A.J. use his mind, even though he has minimal use of his body.
A.J. likes to watch lights and movement. One of the few things he can do for himself is to operate a switch that sets in motion lights and various shiny, colorful streamers and toys that swirl above his bed.
One day I took a picture of A.J. with his toys flying out from the big mobile near his bed like swings on a carnival ride. I liked the way the swirling objects and colors looked in the photo.
I wanted to study the motion more and photograph the whirling objects in an artful way, I wanted my son A.J. to be a part of it. After all, he’s the one who inspires me. When A.J. and I work together on our motion artwork, A.J. starts his streamers and objects twirling, I take the photographs.
Activating a tiny switch might not seem like much to some, but it’s all A.J. can do. He controls the direction the mobile will spin, as well as when it starts and stops. The shutter speeds are long, and sometimes, I move the camera and other times I hold it still.
I begin our creation with a Nikon digital camera. Then I use my computer with Photoshop to alter the images into what I feel might be an artistic way. Working with Photoshop, I find the best parts from several images and combine them into the final composite photograph. I consider the finished work to be fine art. The computer is just the vehicle that helps my expressions grow.
I take the photographs and A.J. adds the magic. It’s something this father and son do together. After I’ve taken a few shots, I show him the photos in the back of the camera. When the images are completed, I show him from a laptop. He just looks. He can’t tell me whether or not he likes the images, but he’s always ready to work with me again.
It offers me my only glance into A.J.’s secret world. We’ve built a large collection of images and I hope the motion and color move you as much as they do me.
A.J. inspires me to work harder to understand my life in the areas of art, photography, people, spirituality, and so much more. He truly sets my mind in motion and helps me find the beauty in everyday things.
