Bright colors, mural art in the background, a variety of lighting, and open space where one area flows into another. For social learning, we deliberately use open sight lines so people can see each other working on a computer, talking with a group, or otherwise engaged in productivity. This creates an energy that fuels learners.
I had taken this photo on film once before, at the time when the Kodak DSC460 was considered top of the line of digital cameras. These days I am armed with a much superior arsenal, so it wasn't too much of a hassle to get the shot. It was mostly a matter of McGyver skills.
Strobist Info: Flash + Snoot + home made light gathering/focusing grid placed behind the light bulb. Another speedlight was placed on the top left, angled down on the hand and fired at minimum power. I used a set of Radipopper Jrx studio to trigger the speedlights.

This were captured on rainy day, jamming in traffic. This pic is special to me as it came out different as expected - actually, reason I keep it as example how volatile is current moment. When I raised camera, guy in Mini turned head, smiled and did show me he appreciates moment or maybe his Mini (or maybe camera, I'm not sure). So this picture is as it is because of coincidence rather.
I'm not sure about my car's front pillar, though I wanted to keep mirror with headlight reflections there. Blurry because wet windows (even two).

I used photoshop to achieve this positive image from a vintage negative that I found in a box of old photography supplies. (see "Negative Three" for the original.)
Unfortunately, I don't know the name of the model and little about the photographer -- I only knew he was an amateur "figure model" photographer and this is some of his work from the 1940s.

John Joseph Cerutti (b: April 28, 1960 – d: October 3, 2004 at age 44) was a left-handed pitcher in MLB and later a broadcaster for the Toronto Blue Jays. He was selected in the first round of the amateur draft by the Blue Jays in 1981 with the 21st overall pick out of Amherst College. He played 7 seasons in the major leagues with the Blue Jays (1985–1990) and Detroit Tigers (1991).
On June 7, 1989, Cerutti recorded the first Blue Jays win in SkyDome, their new stadium. On December 20, 1990, the Toronto Blue Jays granted him free agency. He subsequently signed as a free agent with the Detroit Tigers on January 14, 1991.
His death at the age of only 44 was officially declared to be of natural causes, apparently due to heart arrhythmia. The Toronto chapter of the Baseball Writers' Association of America paid tribute to John Cerutti in November, 2004, giving him its annual Good Guy Award and renaming the honor for him. The Award has been handed out every year since Toronto's inaugural season in 1977, and is given annually to an individual who best exemplifies a positive image for baseball. John Cerutti was known and admired for his exemplary character, good will, and sportsmanship.

The North Charleston Police Department is partnering with local non-profit organization Metanoia to pilot a “Positive Ticketing” campaign in select North Charleston neighborhoods. The ultimate goal of the campaign will be to strengthen community-police partnerships and to encourage youth towards positive behavior.
