The Gemini Freighter Stardrive section
As I was dismantling the Gemini Freighter I began to see a better aspect of the freighter not just as a Battlestar Galactica model that was used in the 1978 series, I saw a new way to show off this model in a way not seen before.
In the model in the series the centre core was just a tube running the length of the ship, “BORING” .
My apologies to the designers for the comment.
In my case it was a critical part of the model so after ripping off the attached pod components I rebuilt the centre core and added heaps more detail.
If you are a stickler for exact detail you will find the front section went through a slight rebuild to as it fell apart onto the floor in many small sections. A few words were muttered at the time it happened, didn’t matter it had to be rebuilt anyway after the fall.
Really was a sneak attack by the Cylons just ensuring it got destroyed again. That was the ultimate fate of this starship.
In adding more detail the landing pad section seemed a little weird so I added the columns to the underside attaching it to the main hull.
The massive arms have been retracted upwards to the rest position so when the cargo pods are set into place they lower clamping them together with the aid of super powerful electromagnets locking them into position.
All as we know this is just a flight of fancy with the fun of the almighty imagination,

This homeless man positioned himself right underneath the engraving on the monument in Logan Square Park (completely ignoring the traditional bench). I didn't want to approach too close and bother him so I took it from a distance. When I posted the original crop of this (http://flickr.com/photos/incendiarymind/218014120/) to various comment and rating communities, nearly everyone wanted a closer crop, so here it is. The replacement on August 2 was to try and correct the grafitti tone.
Day 2 of Mini Festival at Brands Hatch and after a Superb Day of Both Racing and High Speed Action on the Saturday Sunday Was Promising to be a lot of the Same but with even more Racing to Look forward too.
With 2 Races for both Miglia class and Dunlop Mini Sevens as well as Formula 3 The Days events were already shaping up to be One for The History Books with Multiple Fierce and Competitive Drivers from Saturday Looking to Improve and Win their Respective Classes.

Dunlop Mini Challenges Supported by Mini Spares - Miglia (Race 9 Results)
First up onto the Track was The Dunlop Mini Miglia Challenge and after a Very Intense Qualifying Battle Yesterday (Aron Smith) Took the Pole with (Andrew Jordan) Second and (James Cuthbertson) in Third Place. Will all Three Men be able to Keep their Positions come the Race or will they start to fall down the order once Racing Gets Underway. Lets find out.
In First Place was (Endaf Owens) in his Miglia with a Best Lap Time of 54.221 and a Top Speed of 78.76mph. Fantastic Drive there Endaf who was Definitely not Afraid to get that Miglia Sideways as he Raced his Way through the Field to take a Dominant Victory.
In Second Place was (Andrew Jordan) In His Miglia with a Best Lap Time of 54.498 and a Top Speed of 78.64mph. Amazing Driving from Andrew Showing what a Fantastic Mini Racer he is as well as a Superb BTCC Driver as well using his Skills Learned from his BTCC Racing to Hold on for Second Place.

Dunlop Mini Sevens were next up onto the Circuit and with Cars that all Have a Very Colourful set of Liveries and Drivers Ready to go this Next Race was going to be One that would be a Fantastic Watch from either Paddock Hill or The Main Straight as the Minis would be Blasting Past at Nearly 75mph.
Previously Yesterday During Qualifying it was (Jeff Smith) who took the Pole with (Nick Fowler) in Second Place and (Spencer Wanstall) in Third Place with all Three Drivers being Separated by Less than Half a Second as they Crossed the Line to Finish Qualifying.
With Three Very Experienced Drivers at the Front and a Whole Grid of other Great Drivers Ready Lets see what Results this Race will bring.
In First Place was (Jeff Smith) in his Mini Seven with a Best Lap Time of 59.566 and a Top Speed of 72.29mph. Amazing work Jeff Pushing that Little Mini Seven to its Limits and taking First Place.

Formula 3 up Next and with the Track being Mostly Dry before the Start of This Race Each Drivers was Ready to Push Hard and try to take the Victory from the other. Qualifying Yesterday Proved that even a Smaller Grid can still Make for some Intense Racing with Drivers such as (George Line) (Robbie Watts) and (Shane Kelly) showing some Incredible Speed and Capable Car Control thought the Entire Qualifying Session.

Pre 66 Mini's were up Next and a whole Host of Classic Minis had taken to the track during their Formation Lap with Mini's from a By Gone Era that Showed Beauty and a Really Fierce Competitive Nature during the Pre 66 Category of Mini Racing.
During Qualifying the Previous Day (Ian Curley) Narrowly Beat Endaf Owens to Pole by just 0.254 with a Very Fast and Committed Lap Endaf Had to settle for Second Place while (Phil Brown)would take Third.
But today out of all three drivers who would be Brave Enough to challenge Ian and Endaf both Drivers who are very Competitive in their Racing and who both want to Win This One Race.
In First Place was (Endaf Owens) in his Mini Cooper S with a Best Lap Time of 58.026 and a Top Speed of 73.85mph. A Very Fast and Fearless Drive from Endaf who looked like he was Really Enjoying throwing that Mini Around in his Very Aggressive Driving Style. Congratulations Endaf

The Teekay Couplings and Production GTI Championship was up next and with a whole Range of VF Golf GTI'S in one Race it was Going to be a Very Quick and Action Packed Race to Watch.
During Qualifying (Martyn Walsh) took the Pole with (Adam Hance) and (John Beale) in Second and Third Place Respectively.
With So Many Evenly Matched Cars Taking Part in the Race This was Really going to be About Driver Ability and Car Control to see who could extract that little bit more performance out of their Machine for a Victory.
In First Place was (Simon Hill) in his VW Golf GTI with a Best Lap Time of 56.824 and a Top Speed of 71.05mph. Amazing Driving Simon Pushing that VW to its Limits and Really showing off the Complete Understanding of Driver and their Car around the Race Track.
In Second Place was (Adam Hanke) in his VW Golf GTI MK5 with a Best Lap Time of 56.682 and a Top Speed of 71.02mph. Very Well Done Adam and a Really Spirited Drive from a Fantastic Driver to gain Second Place.

The Last Race of The Day and its the BMW New Generation and Z Cars Championship. With Many Different BMW'S Taking Part in this Race Speed Skill and Concentration will all be key Factors in Getting either a Win or a Podium Position.
During Qualifying on Saturday Chris Murphy took the Pole with Jack Wood Second and Edd Giddings Third. Three Drivers all with Many Hours of Racing Experience under their belt.
With The Race About to Start Lets Find out Who Will be The Last Ones to take First Second and Third Place on the Podium in Todays Racing.
In First Place was (Chris Murphy) in his BMW Z4 with a Best Lap time of 55.880 and a Top Speed of 75.95mph. Incredible Drive there Chris Taking the Win and Showing just how to Drive a Z4 BMW around the Brands Hatch Indy Circuit. Congratulations.
In Second Place was (Edd Giddings) in his BMW Z4 with a Best Lap Time of 56.481 and a Top Speed of 75.90mph. Amazing work there Edd with Some Incredible Driving and Keeping Pace with Chris Made for a Really Entertaining Battle.
In Third Place was (Matthew Dance) in his BMW Z4 With a Best Lap Time of 56.526 and a Top Speed of 75.16mph. Well Done Matthew Finishing in Third Place and Taking Home a Wonderful Victory.
And With that The End of Another Perfect and Incredible Days Racing comes to an End at Brands Hatch. The Mini Festival always knows How to Bring out the Best in both Drivers and Cars and Has a Real Atmosphere about the Love for the Little British Icon. The Spectators and The Raving Drivers a Like Really Cherish this Event and I Hope to see it and Document it Many More Times.

A collection of those iron jockeys that one used to use to tie horses to. I don't know the proper name for them.
Positioned along track to Church Farm, this FW3/28 Type 28 anti-tank gun house is sited facing north to defend the river crossing at Jude's Ferry Bridge. The gun emplacement was fitted with a pedestal and nine-bolt holdfast for a 6-pounder anti-tank gun.
The FW3/28 Type 28 is a rectangular shellproof gun house designed to house either a 2pdr or 6pdr Hotchkiss anti-tank gun. The smallest Type 28 gun house, is a single chamber design built to a shellproof standard, with external walls approximately 3ft 6in thick whilst the roof is 12in thick. Overall it approximately measures 20ft by 19ft and internally the chamber measures 13ft by 12ft. At the front of the Type 28 gun house is the low and wide embrasure for the 2pdr or 6pdr anti-tank gun. With the 2pdr gun in position the shield of the gun would have covered most of the embrasure, which measures 2ft 6in internally, stepping out to 3ft 2in by 11ft 6in on the outside, the maximum traverse of the 2pdr gun was limited to a 60° sweep.
Getting the 2pdr gun inside the gun house was through a rear opening of 6ft wide, which would be closed in with sandbags as there were no doors fitted. The large unobstructed entrance did allow the 2pdr gun to maintain it’s mobility, by allowing the gun to be moved in and out rapidly. Below the gun embrasure are three recesses in the floor, the 2pdr gun, would have been wheeled into position, then its wheels removed and the trail legs unfolded and located into the floor recesses. In cases were the Hotckiss quick fire anti-tank gun was used a pedestal with a nine bolt holdfast was added to mount the gun, in a more permanent position adding sandbags around the embrasure for added protection.
Normally each side wall has an infantry embrasure, to provide some limited protection from the enemy. However, the lack of all-round small arms fire meant that the gun house would be very vulnerable to enemy attack. The lack of forward-firing Infantry embrasures meant that it would not be possible to support the 2pdr gun with small arms fire. So to overcome the problem of the limited infantry fire support the FW3/28 gun house design was modified to produce the FW3/28a. This modification consisted of a second chamber being added to the anti-tank gun chamber, the second chamber was an infantry chamber with up to three infantry embrasures, firing to the front, rear and side. Generally, the gun houses were positioned to allow the gun to fire along fixed lines, such as enfiladingss an anti-tank ditch or a bridge. In these positions the limited traverse of the gun creates no real disadvantage and the small size of the embrasure provides greater protection for the gun and its crew.
Eastern Command: Corps and Command Stop Lines – One of three Eastern Command Corps stop lines, this one running from the River Colne in Essex via Wakes Colne and Bures, along the River Stour to Sudbury and Long Melford, and thence to Bury St. Edmunds and the River Lark at Mildenhall. Its final stretch (known now as the Command Line) was via Littleport along the line of the River Great Ouse to King's Lynn.

Steph graduated from Colgate University in 2011 with a major in English and a minor in psychology. In the year proceeding college, Stephanie worked in clinical psychology research at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Following her research position, Stephanie returned to school and received a Master of Fine Arts in creative writing from New York University. During her time at NYU, Stephanie’s interest in medicine deepened through her interactions with various physicians, eventually influencing her to pursue a career as a physician herself. Over this past year, Stephanie has dived head-first into the sciences at Bennington College. Below are some of her reflections on the Bennington Postbac Premed Program and recommendations for others considering attending Bennington.
Why did you decide to switch your career focus from creative writing to medicine?
“I don’t think that pursuing medicine and writing are mutually exclusive. In my writing, I have always been drawn to exploring medical conflicts in characters. I learned further about the medical field by meeting some physicians while I was working on my MFA, and through these interactions I realized my desire to work as a doctor. I believe that physicians are able to give people freedom through healthcare. Doctors can help individuals live independent and free lives on the most basic level. Observing the powerful ways that physicians are able to help others has impressed upon me that practicing medicine is such a critical and awesome career path.”
How did you choose Bennington College for your postbac program?
“I know an alumnus of the program who loved Bennington and loves what he now does. He gave such a strong recommendation that I actually didn’t look into other programs. I’ve been really happy with the culture of the postbac cohort at Bennington, which is to make connections with what we’re learning in class to our everyday lives. Learning really continues outside of the classroom here.”
What have been your favorite things about the postbac year so far?
“I love the beauty of this area; nothing beats watching a good Bennington sunset over the mountaintops with my dog, Piper. All of the Bennington staff are also wonderful. I have found a community here, and the maintenance and security staff have been especially supportive and helpful in my daily life. And although we don’t have many undergraduates in our classes, I really enjoy the perspectives of those that are in our courses.”
What did you do over the Field Work Term?
“I took an EMT class in Bennington and I am now working at the Bennington Rescue Squad. I loved the course because it was a very hands-on and patient-specific learning experience, and much of the material that I had learned in my Bennington courses directly related. It’s been a great experience to apply what I’ve learned at school into a real-life context. Working on the Rescue Squad has also been a nice way to get involved with the local Bennington community outside of the College.”
What do you know now that you wish you had known at the beginning of your postbac year?
“There are unique health concerns that the Bennington and larger Vermont communities face, which are different from those on campus. I wish I had become involved in the local community sooner, as it has been eye-opening to learn about the medical issues that this area faces via the Rescue Squad. Also, I’ve really enjoy the diversity of activities outside of science classes that are available at Bennington, and I would recommend to future postbac students that they take advantage of those.”

American Speedfest 8 Returned to Brands Hatch for another Fantastic American themed weekend Featuring the likes of Euro Nascar Legends and even Angelo American Formula 5000's Racing this weekender event was shaping up to be a good one.
The First Day was mostly focused on Qualifying with many of the Races taking Place on the Sunday. Each of the Teams was both busy in the outer Paddock and the Pitlane getting their cars ready for a shakedown session in which they would have to Qualify to see who could be the Fastest and take Pole Position for each of the Races come Sunday.
Angelo American Formula 5000
The Formula 5000's made a Thunderous return to the Brands Hatch circuit, Built during a time where many Formula 1 cars from the likes of Lotus Williams and McLaren we using Ground Effect and pushing up the speeds of their cars.
Formula 5000's took speeds to a whole new level by using V8 Engines to power their cars which were found to be even faster than those Formula 1 cars of that era on the straights of different race tracks. Chevron B37's and McRae GM1'S were amongst the field and Qualifying looked to be very close indeed.
In First Place taking Pole Position and The Fastest Lap was (Neil Glover) in his Chevron B37 with a Lap Time of 47.039 with an average speed of 92.44mph. An Insanely Fast Lap Time for Brands Hatches Indy Circuit.
In Second Place was (Mark Campfield) in his Chevron B24 with A Lap Time Of 47.694 and an Average Speed of 91.17mph still Impressively quick for Chevron Power.
In Third Place was (Greg Thornton) in his Chevron B24 with A Lap Time Of 47.775 with an Average Speed of 91.02mph showing the power of the Chevron Engine through every turn.
A Tightly Packed Grid for Sundays Race and it looks like its a Chevron Front Row lockout but who's car will have the power to Triumph over the others? only time will tell.
Bernie's Sports And V8's
Bernie's V8's were up next and showcased a lot of Impressive V8 Powered Machinery on the grid. Talbot Sunbeams, Austin Healey's and even MGB GT V8 powered Machinery hitting the Track during Qualifying. Lets see what V8 Power can do and which Drivers managed to tame the Beasts and make it into the top three.
In First Place Taking Pole Position and the Fastest Lap was the Duo of (Elis Mar/Elis Mat) in their Talbot Sunbeam Lotus with a Lap Time of 54.533 and an Average speed of 79.74mph. Fast and Furious Driving on display once again.
In Second Place was (James Plant) in his Austin Healey 106 with a Lap Time of 54.964 and an Average Speed of 79.11mph. Very Quick and Consistent Laps seen from James behind the wheel too.
In Third Place was the Duo of (Can/Wilson) in their Aston Martin V8 Vantage with a lap time of 55.397 and an Average speed of 78.49mph. Showing just how much power and Grunt that Aston has.
Another Fantastic set of V8 Powered Machines on Display showing the true power of the American Built V8'S and how they changed the game in terms of Racing and Road Going Cars. Who will win the Race on Sunday. Will have to wait and see.
Legends Cars Championship
Referred to as the Little Pocket Rockets these small Looking Cars may not loo like they have anything Special to offer but just wait until you see what these little Wolves in Sheep's clothing can do once out on the Track.
Using Motorbike Engines of 1200cc they Really do show on Track just how lightweight and fast they are and Slip Streaming is commonly a way of being able to Achieve a Faster Lap time by using the Driver in fronts Slip Stream to aid in the Aerodynamics of the Car and Reduce Drag. Lets see what Happened during Qualifying Heat 2
In First Place Taking Pole and Setting The Fastest Lap was (Chris Dewey) in his Legend with a Lap Time Of 56.700 with an Average Speed of 76.69mph. Crazy Fast for Something so small and yet very Agile in Control.
In Second Place was (Stephen Whitelegg) in his Legend 34 Ford Coupe with a Lap Time of 56.740 and an Average Speed of 76.64mph. First And Second look to be very close together Thanks to the aids in Slip Streaming down the Brabham Straight to gain positions or Fastest Laps.
In Third Place was (Miles Rudman) in his Legend 34 Coupe with a Lap Time Of 56.878. Very Close between the Top three and it just goes to show how Important Slip Streaming is to Gain an Advantage in this Qualifying Session.
Exciting Stuff Ahead of The
Legends Races on Sunday where One of the Drivers will Win the Race and Take the Victory, Who Will it be? Only Time Will Tell.
Nascar Whelen Euro Series-Pro
The Main Highlight Event of the Day and the Nascar's with their Thunderous Powered V8 Engines Roared onto the Indy Circuit and with Two Formation Laps Completed to Warm Up the Tyres every car was released to Start Qualifying. Lets See How the Grid Will Shape Up.
In First Place to Take Pole and The Fastest Lap was (Alon Day) in his Chevrolet Camaro Caal Racing with a Lap Time of 48.903 and an Average Speed of 88.92mph. I wonder if Marty McFly and Dock Brown were part of their Race Team to Achieve that Impressive Lap Time? Non the Less Amazing Work by Alon Day.
In Second Place was (Loris Hezemans) in his Ford Mustang Hedrik's Motorsport) with a Lap Time of 49.000 and an Average Speed of 88.74mph. Another Fast and Consistent Lap From Loris showing the Balance Between Driver and Car.
In Third Place was (Nicolo Rocca) in his Chevrolet Camaro DF1 Racing) with A Lap Time of 49.292 and an Average Speed of 88.22mph. All Three Drivers seem to be very close in terms of Lap Times and this will make for some Exciting Racing Come Race Day.
Close and Competitive Racing in Nascar-Pro but who will have the Power to Push even Harder and take Home The Victory come Race Day. We will have to wait and See.
EuroNascar-2
Euro Nascar-2 is A a series of Slightly Lower Tuned Nascar's that Features as a Way of Getting Drivers ready to head to the Big Time Nascar Racing that takes Place at Daytona and Indianapolis.
Drivers must First Prove themselves worthy by Starting out from the Bottom and Only The Best Drivers in the World can make it into Nascar's Top Level Racing Teams.
Lets See how the Grid Lines up and see who managed to Qualify the Fastest and take Pole Position.
In First Place and Taking Pole Position and The Fastest Lap was (Advait DeoDHar) in his Ford Mustang Caal Racing with A Lap Time Of 49.918 and An Average Speed of 87.11mph. A Really Well Controlled Lap and a very Focused Mind to Achieve such a Drive.
In Second Place was (Tobias Dauenhauer) in his Ford Mustang Hendriks Motorsport with a Lap Time Of 50.110 and an Average Speed Of 86.78mph. Really Well Done and a very Quick Driver and Car underneath Him.
In Third Place was (Justin Kunz ) in his Chevrolet Camaro DF1 Racing with A Lap Time Of 50.161. Very Fast and Consistent with the Top Three all Very Close and Ready to take on the Race and see who can Battle and Fight for a Victory.

Pickup Trucks Championship
The Pickup Trucks Returned to Brands Hatch for Another High Speed Weekend of Flat Out Racing around the Indy Circuit. With Light Weight Chassis and Powerful Engines it was shaping up to be a very Large and Competitive Grid for Pickup Trucks.
In First Place Taking Pole Position and the Fastest Lap was (Reece Jones) in his Pick Up Truck 2000 with a Lap Time of 52.634 with an Average Speed of 82.61mph.
In Second Place was (George Turiccki) in his Pickup Truck 2000 with A Lap Time of 52.706mph and an average speed of 82.50mph.
In Third Place was (Mark Willis) in his Pickup Truck 2000 with A Lap Time of 52.976 and an Average Speed of 82.08mph.
Three Very Quick and Capable Drivers all Fighting for the Victory In Tomorrow's Race but who will be up to the challenge of Taking 1st Place and Winning. Only One Way To Find Out.

Formally Known as the Silhouettes the Super Silhouettes Brought with them some fast and impressive Space Frame Machinery to the track.
With Aero Packages and Light Weight Monacock Chassis these Monsters were going to be something Amazing to watch Race.

In Second Place was (Malcom Blackman) in his Vauxhall Tigra with A Lap Time of 50.805 and an Average Speed of 85.59mph Another Crazy Quick and on the Edge Lap.
In Third Place was (Lewis Smith) in his Mercedes SLK with a Lap Time of 51.313 and an Average Speed of 84.74mph. Three Very Fast and Capable Drivers in this Qualifying Session.
Incredible Speed and Fast Reflex Driving From Each Driver out there. It will be Exciting to see who can bring home a Victory and push their Machinery past its Limits and into New Territory. Another Race I'm Looking Forward to Seeing.

Art Positions is a part of Art Basel devoted to emerging galleries from around the world. Shipping containers are converted into public art spaces directly at the beach front and the center area houses a performance space with art by Ryan McGinness as well as skateboarding demonstrations and DJ sets.
This is a photograph from the first running of the newly situated Irish 3/4 Marathon (formerly the Athlone 3/4) which was held in Longwood, Enfield, Co. Meath, Ireland on Sunday 9th of October 2016 at 10:00. The event is positioned perfectly in the calendar as a key training race before the Dublin City Marathon at the end of the month. This year was the first year that the event was held in Longwood, Co. Meath which is now well known for its hosting of the Longwood 10KM/5KM annual races and a host venue for East of Ireland Marathon series marathons on a bi-annual basis. The race started and finished at Longwood GAA club just outside the village of Longwood. It followed an anti-clockwise course around the beautiful picturesque countryside of south Meath. The course went through the townlands of Longwood, Castlerickard, Killyon, Hill-of-Down, Anneville and Ashfield Clonard, Blackshare, Stoneyford and back to Longwood. The river Boyne and Blackwater were crossed as was the Royal Canal and the Dublin-Sligo Railway line at Hill-of-Down. Overall this was a very different course to the previous years in Athlone. The overall elevation of the course works out at 3/4 of the total elevation of the Dublin Marathon course. What most stood out about today's race was the course and how the countryside around it looked on a beautiful almost perfect Autumn morning. The organisation of the race was first class with every detail taken care of from the start until the finish.
There is a very large set of photographs from today's race - taken at the start in Longwood village, the 25KM mark outside our home and at about 17 miles at the top of Blackshade Bridge and the highest point of elevation on the course. As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!

But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there.
