Oh, in other news, my remote is broken, but my dad figured out how to fix it (something about splicing wires). In the meantime, I released the shutter tonight with the help on my curling iron. :) Photographers definitely become resourceful!

Pile Driver OB's cab rotates into position to drive a small pile (basically, a piece of a telephone pole) in the Antonito Yard. The pile has been pointed on one end to facilitate penetration into the ground.

This Type-24 Pillbox is one of a pair positioned to defend the approach to the beach, the other one is buried somewhere in the sand dune. The Type-24 is an irregular hexagon in plan, the rear wall is the longest at about 14ft this has the entrance with a 'Pistol Loophole' on either side, the other walls vary between 7ft and 8ft each having a single embrasure or loophole. The embrasures are suitable for both rifles or light machine guns and has a Turnbull Gun Mount. Internally, there is a Y-shaped anti-ricochet wall, the top of the Y is nearest to the entrance, the internal wall also helps support the roof. The Type-24 was always built to at least bullet-proof standard of 12in thick, but often was thicker.
A thick-walled variant was introduced to a shellproof standard, it was larger externally and had walls 36in to 50in thick. (This thick-walled variant is sometimes called a Type-29 by pillbox researchers but this is not an official designation) The Type-24 is the most common type of pillbox, with more than 1,724 recorded as being extant.
Once upon a time, N&W position lights were plentiful in west central Ohio, along the Columbus-Sandusky line. This nice set is at Frank, Ohio, not far south of Bellevue.

I did a vintage glamour shoot with the lovely blond Cassiel. As usual I tried to capture several different mood and scenes with just lighting changes, props and positioning on location and a single wardrobe change.
The Tower Circus is positioned at the base of the tower, between its four legs. The circus first opened to the public on 14 May 1894 and has not missed a season since.
The present interior was designed by Frank Matcham and was completed in 1900.
The circus ring can be lowered into a pool of water and holds 42,000 US gallons (160,000 l; 35,000 imp gal) at a depth of up to 4 ft 6 inches, which allows for Grand Finales with Dancing Fountains. The Tower Circus is one of four left in the world that can do this.
The clown Charlie Cairoli appeared at the tower for 39 years. Britain's best-known ringmaster Norman Barrett worked the ring for 25 years.
Animals appeared in the circus until 1990.
It was planned to close the circus at the end of the 1990 season and replace it with an animatronic attraction. Public opinion and the fact the animatronics were not ready meant that the circus continued.
Today, the circus is produced and directed by Hungarian Laci Endresz, who is married to Maureen, one of the Roberts family who have a long association with the Tower Circus. A live band (sometimes accompanied by Mooky the Clown) provides all the music for the show, often dynamically syncing with the performers' movements. The circus band play a variety of different songs, usually Latin for the acts. In the winter the circus stages a pantomime instead of the regular show.
THE NYPD ARRIVE AT THE SCENE
This video is of an incident that occurred at the HI-USA New York City Hostel at 891 Amsterdam Avenue in Manhattan. Long story short: I booked a room there for three nights, December 14-17, 2020. They gave me a cold room with a broken heating unit. This was the week that big winter storm hit New York City. On top of that, you could get a contact high from all the marijuana smoke wafting through the hallways at night. And this in a no smoking facility. I was miserable. After two days, I cut short my reservation, and asked for my money back. What happened next should be a cautionary tale to any person of color living in the world today. Instead of doing the right thing, the hostel manager, “George”, tried to flip the script on me by accusing me of being “crazy”, and told me to get out of the building, or he was going to call the police. Now, why did he wanna do that? I am 60 years, and I’ve been dealing with rednecks like George all my life. This was a textbook example of an individual trying to use the police as a means to criminalize and intimidate a black man—plain and simple. It has always been my position that if you are going to call the police on someone, you had better know what all that entails, because anything could happen, and the worst often does. George did not understand this. This video is documentation of that pathetic event.
The hotel complex Antares Olimpo-Le Terrazze is located along the Sicilian Ionic coast, on a hill overlooking Letojanni and just few km. from Taormina: a fantastic position, with a stunning panoramic view over Taormina Bay. All single hotels of the complex are connected with a panoramic lift; a conventioned equipped beach is just approx. 300 mts distance and is easily reachable with a lift carved in the rocky hill and under a short gallery.

Letojanni is a comune (municipality), and coastal resort in the Province of Messina in the Italian region Sicily, located about 170 km east of Palermo and about 32 km southwest of Messina. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 2,634 and an area of 6.8 km².Letojanni borders the following municipalities: Castelmola, Forza d'Agrò, Gallodoro, Mongiuffi Melia, Taormina.Main economic activities are agriculture and fishing. Products mostly cultivated are corn, olives, wine-grapes, almonds, lemons, mulberries, fruit. Interesting is the yearly manifestation "Agosto a Letojanni" (August at Letojanni) in which the festival of fish and water-melon and the parade of the Sicilian cart take place. It is also to underline the strong inclination of territory to tourism. In fact in the place there is a good receptive offer both hotel and camping supplied with facilities fit to receive very many tourists especially during summer.The etymology of Letojanni is a mixture of Latin and Arabic. The place-name derives in fact from Latin Laetum,that is "rich", and from Arabic Ayn, that means "spring". There are not many information about origin of the little town but it is known that until half of the XVIII century it has been under the jurisdiction of Gallodoro town. In the XIX century it was involved in a high economic increase and in 1880 it gained administrative equality with Gallodoro. The earthquake of 1908 damaged some of its buildings later rebuilt. In 1952 it became an independent commune. The most interesting monuments are the Parish Church in neogothic style, rebuilt in 1929 and keeps inside a beautiful picture of Piety of 1700. An important figure original of Letojanni is the famous surgeon Francesco Durante (1844-1934), who was teacher of surgery of the joints and bony at the University of Studies of Roma and he was together with Guido Baccelli founder of the General hospital of Roma and finally he was also named senator of the Reign.
