Not just a decorative water feature, functioning kids' pool at the Dusit Thani.

In his defense, the lifeguard had just unlocked the pool gate and I was the only person there. He could clearly see that I was taking pictures and not getting into the pool. But still...

Rock Pool

North Narrabeen rock pool, one of the largest tidal pools in Sydney

Paddling Pool – Taken with a 650n IR & ND filter of the local paddling pool. The ND filter altered the pool water's colour to red and the surrounding balustrades to teal even after colour correction. Planed as a black and white image I quite liked the look of the teal and left it as it was.

Taken with a Full Spectrum converted Nikon D720 Nikkor - 16.0-85.0 mm f3.5-5.6 Lens – 16mm – 59 Sec- 11mm – ISO 100. 650nm IR and 10 stop ND filters

Bikini girl at the pool.

It looks like the extraordinary gusts have deposited a chair at the deepest part of the pool. I will deal with that issue when the weather has calmed down.

This is a photo of a tidal pool and patterns in the sand at Port Maitland Beach. The image has been mirrored and copied twice to be symmetrical.

Couldn't help but snap a photo of the old Pool 8 elevator in Thunder Bay, Ontario. The 115 year old building is slated for demolition.

An ocean front view taken in Biddeford Pool, Maine looking out at Saco Bay. This is a five image HDR merged with Lightroom.

Biddeford Pool is the site of Maine's first recorded permanent settlement, then called Winter Harbor (not to be confused with present-day Winter Harbor, Maine). In the winter of 1616-1617, Richard Vines, a physician, resided here as part of the colonization efforts of Sir Ferdinando Gorges, lord proprietor of Maine. An early village developed on the north side. In 1688, Fort Mary was built near the pool's entrance. [Wikipedia]

Hearst Castle is the only place I can think of that a pool this ornate can fit in. The walls, floors and ceilings are covered with tile mosaics. Since the pool is indoor it's shielded from the wind, so the water sits perfectly still and offers crystal clear reflections.

I read something once about being a pool of peace and this leaf brought the memory back to me. It was raining and the wind was blowing hard as I took this image. I noticed that as the wind subsided, the ripples would settle in the leaf. Some days feel that way to me. Out of the blue a wind of anger or sadness might blow over my life but I know the storm will pass. The peace that follows a storm is always a welcome friend.

Maybe there's just something about our pool that attracts these creatures. Every night, something new and different. This one seemed quite content to simply hover over the pool. (shrug)

SOOC...didn't need to tweak anything for this beauty.
