Sunny morning & less windy, so went out but only found the regular Ducks. Mallards are still very active in the mating game everywhere I go

Taken on a walk around the neighbourhood.

There's a funky little paddling pool near our house that I didn't know was there.

Sunset over Pirton Pool, captured just as the stars were appearing and I was thinking of retiring to my tent.

I enjoyed wild camping next to this pool - so much so that I returned a week later. On that occasion, though, I was awoken by headlights and torches sweeping across my tent - local game keeper patrolling for poachers. Took some explaining that I was not interested in fish and had only been taking pictures! I very quickly retreated, my apologies echoing across the pool in the still night air....

Its like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. After many a trip to this location. Finally the shot I've been waiting for.

Out of the 6 or so occasions of going here twice the pool has been completely empty. The other times its been a rubbish sunrise.

I got up at 5.00am, looked off my back deck and headed back to bed only to think I'm up now i may as well just go. On arrival I thought it could be a chance. As the sun came up all was revealed, "FINALLY"

Kirkcaldy Swimming Pool was opened in 1971. The pool was thirty three and a third metres long. At the shallow end it was one metre deep and the diving area was three metres deep. Kirkcaldy pool had one spring board at one metre and two diving board, one at three metres and one at five metres. The pool was originally heated by coal, but was changed to gas in 1983. It took 220,000 gallons of water to fill the main pool. In August 2013 the pool and associated fitness suite closed. Demolition work started in March 2018.

Chapman’s Pool is a rough-cut cove in the depths of the Isle of Purbeck, Dorset. It’s not easy to get to, but this was the destination of this mornings adventure. Pretty difficult to navigate visiting somewhere for the first time in the dark (with some slippery moments!) but so worthwhile. Such an awesome little cove!

The website for Malibu Creek State Park describes the park like this in its opening paragraph:

Considered the recreational crown jewel of the Santa Monica Mountains, Malibu Creek State Park has over 8,000 acres of rolling tallgrass plains, oak savannahs and dramatic peaks. It's no wonder many call it "The Yosemite of Southern California".

The park was owned by 20th Century Fox from 1946-1974, and portions of classic movies like Planet of the Apes, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, M*A*S*H, and have been filmed in and around here.

Rock Pool is now a place where kids hang out on summer weekends and jump off the cliffs into the water -- even though it's specifically prohibited on signs. This lone tree got some nice afternoon light on it and its reflection was framed nicely by these two rocks in the foreground.

Here is a picture that I tried to take for 5 months and finally figured out, by fooling my camera into thinking that I'm gonna wait for it to focus.
