the spirit of tasmania will leave on her final voyage from sydney to devonport on the 27th August
Recently I bought my most expensive second-hand camera thus far. It's a 1980's vintage Polaroid SLR 680, a single lens reflex foldable camera. So far I've been shooting four different film packs and I'm more than pleased with the result, so I thought I'd share them with you in the upcoming weeks and see what you think.
Taken with Polaroid SLR 680 analog camera. Impossible 600 instant film, black & yellow duochrome (Third Man Records Edition). Non-expired.

Most likely might be the Chippewa River out behind my dad’s house in Michigan or this was taken on the same river in Island Park in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. Can’t remember, finally scanning in and sharing old stuff. This would have been 2019-2020 most likely.
Tacos and margaritas for his birthday dinner, then a long walk around the lake and cupcakes for dessert.
(And yes, you'll notice I'm WAY behind on my 365-ish. Thank goodness I called it "ish". I'll have more to post, but they'll be out of order. Argh!)

Out behind or to the side of a motorsports store in Murfreesboro, is this lovely tree full of trinkets like deer skulls and a life vest and some silverware and such. Closeup of one of the skulls on the tree.

Hmmm... I'm testing a new colour film... I wonder if there's any colourful buildings near work...
The white speckles are a pre-production issue which will be dealt with in future batches.
my favourite photograph of my grandparents is a polaroid photograph that has long since turned blue and yellow and green. i own four polaroid cameras and i don't want to lose the instant magic. when i travel i take a polaroid camera and boxes of film, and fight to have the film handscanned because it is important to me that my experiences are perfectly documented in only the way polaroid can. i give away photographs to my subjects and no one looks at a polaroid camera the same way when being photographed. people smile, people ask for a photo, people receive and keep and treasure the piece of instant magic.
save polaroid. go on go on go on go on.
Polaroid week day 5: when I got out of school the weather was crappy so I decided to come home and look for something to shoot here... found it. I guess this is a good picture to end Fall 'Roid Week 2009.

Sadie loves bath bombs. This particular one was an orange-red and it turned the water that color. So I grabbed the shark puppet and snapped a photo. Again, perfect for shark week on discovery channel lol.
So this is a bit late for day one of 'Roid week but I only thought of it a few minutes ago so bear with me. I've decided to post some of my favourite non-Aviva Polaroid portraits (for those you can check out Amamak) to celebrate 'Roid week. Originally I planned on taking a Polaroid a day on my vacation but those are all bad quality pictures of pictures = unflickr worthy. You can check them out on my Tumblr though if you're so inclined!
This is my grandma, taken just about when I started out with Polaroids three years ago. Shot on the Polaroid SLR680 with 600 film.

Found on a backroad after being freshly killed by a car. Happens every season the deer are out en masse. Most likely won’t share in the Polaroid groups on FB - people are too sensitive but trust and believe this is life and the meat did not go to waste. We have always tried to honor what the land loses.
