$1 pair of cheap toy glasses and mustache from the dollar store. Couldn’t figure out at first who Jake looked like then it hit me - Groucho Marx!
I needed to use up the last of the 600 Yellow film I bought for my Ukraine project for the most recent ‘Roid Week. Figured I would just burn a few shots on my favorite local outsider art project. Didn’t expect much, but very happy with the results. Shot for the Shitty Camera Challenge Instant Regret event on Twitter.

So I love drive-in movies. My dad took my brother and I to one in Kathleen, Florida all the time when we lived there. Such fond memories! Dustin was supposed to start taking us last year and that well… just never happened. So I started following @birdsongdrivein to see what was playing. Last night they were showing Back To The Future and Ghostbusters II Frozen Empire. Naturally the kids wanted to see Ghostbusters but we were all for seeing the Delorean too! I mean, how cool is that?!

It’s cold. I meant to share these back in spring but as ever, I’m behind on scanning and sharing lol. I love when the surprise lilies pop up in the yard though.
I heard about the end of Polaroid the day before I shot these.
These were shot at the 1946 Worchester diner, A1, in Gardiner, Maine. I kept getting in the way of the waitress in the small aisle while I was speaking with residents about life in Gardiner. We recorded lots of audio and I shot several photos to document the experience. It turned out to be a really productive day and I should have more photos soon.

The lunar eclipse was mostly a no-shpw tonight in San Jose, too many clouds. So here's an alternative moon I shot on today's Glass Key Photo walk :)
I loved so much that I could get fresh fish in France, we usually bought right by the harbour. So good!

Figured it was time I shared this to my own feed even though y’all have mostly seen it by now! This was my take as the guest artist for @roo_roo_s and her theme of Dissociation/Disassociation (I kind of interpreted it as both) for the @the12.12project. This theme really hit close to home as most days I feel like grief leaves me in a fog and reality is a blur. I recognize short term memory loss as a symptom because things like what I ate or wore the day before or last week seem trivial and meaningless. It’s all a blur. I stay busy to avoid the full impact of grief and the grieving. I do my grieving in private usually when I’m alone and the kids aren’t there to see me fall apart. It happens but I do my best to put on a strong brave front for them. It’s hard when they say they wish he was here for something like a birthday or a school event, knowing he hated celebrating anything and most likely wouldn’t have attended any school events due to his work schedule. Making this photo/triptych helped in a way… I’m still processing how exactly but there was a therapeutic element to it for me during this grief. Hell, 9 months later and I still want him back.
This is only the second time I’ve shared a Polaroid of me.

This didn’t quite turn out how I wanted it to. I wanted the word “love” to be more in focus but hey, I got circular rainbow flare so that’s a bonus! Apparently I did see these last year - here’s the proof lol. So behind on scanning in Polaroids that I didn’t realize I had noticed this growing in the yard last year or that I’d even snapped a shot of it.

@futurevisionsfarmstn had a ranunculus upick back in April last year. Naturally I took the kids and took some photos, digital and instant. But this was my favorite shot of the bunch - the pretty Eastern Tiger Swallowtail that flitted from flower to flower and stayed put long enough for me take this.
