no photoshop needed for thi shot-- came right off the camera like this!, just an underpowered argus bean sprout with questionable optics. I adore this capture, dont you? feels like a mosaic or some sort of painting. not sure how it happened but am thrilled with the uniqueness of it
Many plastic flowers are used to decorate the graves. They last longer, and flowers aren't available in the village.

Olmsted Point, located in Yosemite National Park, is a viewing area like Glacier Point that offers an amazing view looking South-West into Yosemite. One is able to see the back side of Half Dome (where people climb the cables) and Tenaya Canyon. To the east you get an elevated view of Tenaya Lake. While not as popular as other viewing areas like Tunnel View & Glacier Point, Olmsted Point is worth the stop.- Wikipedia

Point Betsie Lighthouse on the shore of Lake Michigan a few miles north of Frankfort Michigan was built in 1858 and the fog signal building was added in 1891. The lighthouse was fully automated in 1983 making it the last manned lighthouse on mainland Michigan.
I should point out that the pier is NOT wet due to massive seas breaking over it - they'd just been hosing it down.
Spectacle Point is on the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT), just above the Park Lakes area. On this particular hike I came up on the Mineral Creek Trail, and continued onto the PCT. Besides the fantastic scenery at this location I have vivid memories of the horrendous mosquitos. Like an idiot, I had forgotten my Jungle Juice. Lots of bites to scratch the following week :-( Scanned from a 4X5 Ektachrome transparency.
Alpine Lakes Wilderness, WA
The successful preservation of Pleasure House Point, an undeveloped natural open space on the Lynnhaven River, was culminated with a ribbon cutting on October 12. Located just west of the Lesner Bridge and south of the Chesapeake Bay, Pleasure House Point Natural Area is 118 acres of water, tidal marsh, sandy shores and maritime forest. The shallow water estuarine environment of the property provides habitat for the iconic Chesapeake Bay blue crab and the Lynnhaven oyster.
This high-profile property was once being considered for a large waterfront development, but with the help of The Trust for Public Land, the Chesapeake Bay Foundation and the surrounding community, the City of Virginia Beach has preserved one of the largest undeveloped parcels of land on the Lynnhaven River for generations to come.

Murphy Point Road sign on highway 540 on Manitoulin island. Marked the drive to a resort we'd loved as children years before in the 70's.
